I still can't believe Russell Crowe is going to be in a Superman movie.
I really hope the script is decent. Otherwise, we'll have another Prometheus on our hands.
Although every Zack Snyder movie so far has had amazing visuals with a weak script.

What the hell? Prometheus is a great film. It's not becoming a thing to act like this has a terrible script. GAF can be such bullshit.

0_o I forgot all about that show, good memories!

Sometimes I wonder if I'm the only Superman fan that can't stand the Lois and Clark tv show and never liked Cain in the role :\

People hate Superman Returns for the shit plot and the terrible costume, but I think the most offensive aspect was how they ruined Lois. Not only giving her a kid (which that whole thing was dumb in itself) but just the way they tempered and toned down her character. Terrible.

You love everything Superman, including this

"I'm always around"

Where are you now Routh!? huh huh

UGH though @ that tv spot, that music.

Honestly I don't hate Superman Returns, its just decent after I expected to splooge all over the theater.

I really do cringe watching Dean Cain as Supes.

Oh by far the worst Lois Lane ever put on film/tv etc I have no f-ing clue what Singer was thinking with that. She was a f-ing bitch to Clark. Felt like she basically had a stick up her ass the whole film.

To be fair Clark kinda skipped town for what 12 years. Would make sense for her to be pissed.

The number one failing of Returns was Lex luthor as the villian and a recycling of the first movies plot .

He was gone for five years. Which then reminds me of another ridiculous plot hole that I remember hurting my brain trying to comprehend. Clark disappears for some family sabbatical at the same time Superman is gone. Clark shows back up at the Daily Planet after five years and no one questions why he was gone for so long. How would he even coast right into his old job again after that amount of time? And then no one even bothers to question why Clark shows up and suddenly Superman returns the same day? These are ace reporters for fucks sake. The Daily Planet is the most prestigious media institution in the DC Universe and these idiots can't put two and two together.

As for Lex, stupid to bring him back as the major villain. But I didn't have a problem with Spacey's portrayal as a lot of people did. It was second in live action only behind Michael Rosenbaum on Smallville.

How can he be gone for 5 years when its clearly a 10 or 12 year old son ?

At the same time even 5 years is a long time. Tell you what , skip out on your gf for 5 years and see how happy she is with you when you come back.... oh and knock her up before you leave.

I certianly liked Spacy as Luthor and wouldn't have minded Luthor in the movie but he shouldn't have been the focus. He should have just be in the bakcround trying to put together the superman / clark kent deal and saved him for another movie as the big main villian. Mabye having him pull the strings of another villian.

Like what if mogul came to earth and was rulling the world when superman came back

Yea, but they way it was filmed was like they were not even close friends. She looked down at Clark in the movie... it was just odd. Like the elevator scene where she was like ashamed to say hi to him. Can't explain it well enough, but for something that was supposed to be a quasi sequel that never felt like the Donner Clark/Lois relationship.

She was mad at Superman, why treat Clark like shit when she had no clue :|

I agree to an extent. But my main issue with her character is she wasn't the hardass pitbull reporter that she is in the comics. Hell, she wasn't even a worthy successor to Margot Kidder, who really captured the spirit of Lois Lane. Erica Durance on Smallville did a better job. Bosworth's Lois just felt like she was too distracted with Cyclops, who had absolutely no purpose in the movie, to bother figuring out that the reporter that she worked with on a daily basis had had to be the Man of Steel since they both show up on the same day after five years.

And the kid was not 10 or 12. He was 5 or so.

I still can't believe Singer did the real estate scheme again. I can understand loving Donner's movies, but damn.

Singer and his two shitty writers got drunk on the Donner cock and plagiarism happened.

Superman Returns was a waste of time and money for everyone involved.

Yea WB's owes Dm and I money. We whored ourselves out for that movie on GAF. What a waste.

God what a pussy version of Supes. I know he was stabbed by kryptonite, but how could you ever let Kal Penn beat up on you.

arghhhh

dm photoshop the new logo onto that, not that fugly plastic returns S shield.

I hated it. Ha-ted.

Perhaps I haven't been vocal enough here about my livid, fireborn hatred for Cain?

Biggest pussy ever. I could have beat his ass.

"June 14, 2012: Dean Cain Talks Superman Curse and "Lois & Clark" Reunion
Dean Cain as Clark Kent TheDailyBeast.com caught up with one-time Superman Dean Cain, to get his opinion on the so-called "Superman Curse" and whether he'd ever be interested in getting back in to the blue tights for a "Lois & Clark" reunion.
Curse or no curse, Cain actually wouldn't mind putting the Superman tights back on one more time if Warner Bros ever decided to make a Lois & Clark reunion. "We never got to finish it up, because we hung it on a cliffhanger for Season 4 and we weren't able to shoot Season 5 for medical reasons." When asked to elaborate, Cain says more episodes had been ordered, but Hatcher announced her pregnancy and had to leave the series after producing a doctor's note. "She wasn't able to work," he says. "It's really stressful to work those hours ... it would have been detrimental to her health and the health of her unborn child."

LOL could you imagine and wtf is he smoking. Also thank you Hatcher for getting pregnant and putting that show out of its misery.

lol superman

lol "Arguably, his Sexy Superman paved the way for Tom Welling’s Smallville, Brandon Routh’s Superman Returns, and the upcoming Man of Steel feature starring a buff Henry Cavill."

never really liked the show either. but it was something superman related so I watched it.

I think I watched maybe half of season 1 and was just like nooooooo *vader voice* and never watched it again. Ive seen way too many scenes on youtube and I know I made the smart move.

did you guys like the Superboy show?

More than Lois and Clark, it was extreme cheese, but at least I could see the two guys who portrayed Superboy as actually being a younger version of Supes. Plus even that low budget show had a better suit.

What blasphemy is this? People are hating on lois and clark? Wah!!

#Teamchloehererootingforallisonmackinasuperman/marvelproperty.

LOL when i was growing up it was the best show EVER. Admittedly, it hasn't aged well but what super hero series from that age did?

I'd rather watch the short lived Flash series :P I don't recall anything else on at the time... it was your only choice for a Superman fix. I chose to just watch my Superman dvds over and over hah

How old were you? Maybe it didn't bother you as much cause you were younger. That shit wouldn't even last a full season today.

Still it was Cain and will always be Cain that turned me off the show.

Same page. Same fucking page. Flash was SOOO much better.

All this Cain talk makes me want to rage.

http://www.showblitz.com/2012/06/hans-zimmer-tapped-to-score-man-of-steel.html

EXCLUSIVE: Hans Zimmer, who worked on all three films in Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy, is set to reteam with the filmmaker once again, as Warner Bros. and director Zack Snyder have tapped him to score their Superman pic MAN OF STEEL. In addition to BATMAN BEGINS, THE DARK KNIGHT and this summer’s THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, Zimmer worked with Nolan on INCEPTION for which he received an Oscar nomination. He has been nominated for nine Oscars and previously won for Disney’s THE LION KING. John Williams was nominated for an Oscar for creating the iconic theme to Richard Donner’s original SUPERMAN in 1978. MAN OF STEEL will mark the first Snyder-directed pic on which the helmer hasn’t worked with composer Tyler Bates, who scored DAWN OF THE DEAD, 300, WATCHMEN and SUCKER PUNCH.
