Hero Games announces Cryptic's MMORPG - Champions Online

I feel bad for anyone who's first time playing it was this week.

The game is really a monstrous bastardization of what the developer's original mission was. They sort've bent over and took it to the demands of the PC-elite that swarmed their forums last year in March. I guess I should've saw that coming since the IP is a PnP game.

Shame, really.

I couldn't play it for more than 30 minutes today.

What does that even mean? Of course I wrote the game off because its not even using the Hero ruleset.

Well, I guess it was sort've dickish of me to stereotype and bunch the PC-elite with PnP nerds.

Then again that remark was kind've dickish too, huh?

Btw, are you Quasar from the-magicbox forums?

How does one get the mask with the open mouth? Is that something that is earned later? I'm trying to create my champion but I can't find that mask, only full masks. :(

EDIT:
Well shit I just found it right after posting this.

Not in the beta so I didn't sign no NDA.

Well I just hit level 7 over the weekend and I must admit this game is really enjoyable. I spent hours just on the character creation, it's pretty damn good. The game is pretty easy to pick up, the only times I'm lost in the game is because I'm trying to do stuff the WoW way (menu shortcuts, targeting, stuff like that.) I think the UI needs some work, but so far the game feels solid. It doesn't appear like the game is getting a lot of hype.

Question for anyone who's also played CoH/CoV, does that game play like Champions-Online? Do you see any of CoH's flaws rectified in Champions?

does anyone know if you can adjust the size of onscreen fonts to make larger so this could be played on an HTPC TV?
Also is its feasible to use a controller or does it really only work with Keyboard and mouse controls?

It already comes with controller usage. Seems rather simple, based around the 360 controller, but if you have a converter, you can use that one on the PC too.

yes, the wired 360 controller works quite well with the game right now. I'm torn on which way I want to play as both work well.

what about onscreen font size? i watch preview vid on gametrailers and all the text seems really small for tv.
I know it might come out for 360 sometime in the future but i'm wondering if this will be playable in my Hometheater PC from the couch with a controller and keyboard.
