He's my highest or second highest winrate hero. One season I did my placements with only Chen when I could and went like 7-0 with him. He was a bit more in the meta then, but I think he's underrated now in pleb play. You can get rekt by the stuns and so forth, but you're quite annoying and mobile and if they are stunning you and not your carry or heals that's probably a win.

Panda Pals is sneaky good for bursting down some squishies too.

looking an an updated pass on the roster and what i've played since returning, my list of characters I really enjoy is actually quite large, its more than double than even the ones im so-so and the ones I dislike combined.

In fact, the ones I simply do not like / wont play is quite short so far, only 4, but im only counting the heroes I've gotten to 10 (at least), and a lot of the ones I havent is precisely because I dont really care for them and thus have struggled to put a lot of games into them, and its unlikely to change (although it has changed, like Auriel).

Theres also a few level 11s that I still havent tried since returning which will probably still be in the favorites (Azmo, Gazlowe, Li Li, Uther and STILL my highest win rate hero, Vikings lol) but I still want to put a couple of games into them to see if Im still into those heroes, less we have another Rehgar situation (im still bummed about that).

So im sitting at 21 favorite heroes, these are the ones I will gladly pick up and play at any time, 9 whatevers, the ones that are ok-ish (for me) and I do fine with them I guess but I get nothing out of it, and only 4 that I simply dont want to play.

Biggest surprises so far, easily Nova, Diablo and Jaina who I didnt care for at all 2 years ago, and also Auriel. On the negative side, Rehgar who I used to love, and Kerrigan who... I thought I used to love >_> Also Hammer who i'm putting on my whatever list, her style just doesnt do it for me anymore, or maybe it was just this week's brawl that soured me on her.

So man Johanna's tonight.

Literally every single game. She's an interesting hero, I'm not sure if I really like playing her or like playing off of her if that makes sense.

Man, Xul is so frustrating to play. I don't know why this guy exists. Also, why isn't the "Specialist" category just called "Pushers"?

I played the new ETC, and he feels significantly better than before.

One of these is not like the others.

Xul is awesome, shush you.

got Tassadar to 10, had a lot of fun and won most of my matches...actually, I don't think I lost one at all last night. Hit 250, got Chromie and Falstad in boxes back to back which is kind of crazy. I've actually got most of the roster unlocked and only 3 heroes at level 1 (Cho, Nova, Medivh). Just when I start to think I've hit the point where I've played this a lot, I start to see people level 1000+ all the time in quick match and it boggles my mind how much of this game you'd have to play to get there.

Anyways, I always queue with the same friend and I find it funny how much he complains when I pick Gazlowe. I don't think I've ever lost on Gazlowe. Must be the best hero in the game.

then maybe you should go defend then. Like I get you, but the amount of times I ping danger and everyone ignores kinda makes it feel like the only way people pay attention is if you spam it.

the issue isn't people using them to draw attention to something. It's the ones who do it to harass someone they think is playing 'wrong'. They'll just spam on you nonstop for the entire duration of the match. As someone who plays a lot of supports, once in a while I get that from dipshits who charge in 1v5 and think that a shield or heal is going to keep them alive.

Xul is probably my favorite character in the game. If you can get a good 2-lane rotation down (and spec into his trait so he basically never needs to use the fountains or go back to base) he can put out a *terrifying* amount of lane pressure, especially because his trait actively soaks up tower/fort/keep shots. So when your team does win a teamfight, you can just walk right in and brutalize a lane without taking any damage, rather than waiting for creeps, etc (it also keeps your mercs alive longer and pushing harder). His time-delay prison is also great for locking down people leaving a teamfight, or slowing down someone you know is going to be chasing you if the teamfight is going south. And both of his ultimates serve a purpose and give you value.

To me, his biggest limitation is that the prison is his *only* mode of escape and you need to be right on top of someone to cast it, so it's not very useful as one. And since you're rotating between lanes way more often than your team, it can be easy to get caught out solo by the enemy team or a roving gank squad as you rotate unless you have really good map awareness; if you get caught, you're basically dead.

So I got around to playing Genji to 5 last night. I was anticipating hating him. His playstyle isn't something I usually enjoy. I'm bad at his OW counterpart. Basically everything was against me, but I wanted the easy levels.

Absolutely had a blast playing him. It's like I don't even know who I am anymore. First I enjoyed Valeera and now Genji? I used to pretty much only play supports. I just... I don't know.

That level 1 sprint + no collision talent seems like a must pick.

The lvl 16 trait talent basically makes every tick past the 4th deal 5% damage instead of 2.5%. Sounds good but is a pretty long wind up.

Combine it with the level 4 quest and a single auto attack does 20% of your maximum health.

One thing he can't be accused of - having a boring talent tree!

Zera's base and the recolored base is kind of booty, but everything else is sick. "Master", samurai and the zerg ones are on point. Oh and the executor.

Gotta wait patiently til the next round or the one after drops and we get a good version of the raptor for everyone else that isn't Master+. You know it'll happen.

I don't know man... elephant face Zeratul and Hydralisk face Zeratul don't look all that great to me. And last thing I need is yet another samurai/oni-face skin in my games.

Anyone want to group for some Quick Play character leveling? I can't practice great results since I'm going through my less-favored heroes, but I want to get 10K gold for Auriel and this is the best way.

Edit: Woah that new Zeratul skin is cool. WHY CANT STITCHES GET ONE GOOD COSTUME?
