I feel like double jump should be pretty good, i kinda rationalize shingan in that it is a great spike and higher dmg on genji would help make enemies prioritize him more and i feel like genji needs to be offtankish and in the shit to be successful, otherwise you are just weakly poking and finishing

I play him passive lyfe all the way. That's not true, but I rarely dive into an actual team fight until there's a hero I can finish or a setup is put down for my ultimate. I don't know how you could reliably play him as an offtank. Your W only lasts 1.5 secs and it has a pretty long cooldown. You'd have to use your other skills to dodge instead to engage and finish. I don't see that as a valuable use of the hero or his intention really on a regular basis. You can draw the aggro, but it will negate your ability to finish, and if you don't have heals your just kind of out of it because that deflect is so paltry.
I think he's meant to be a poke/harass hero like Tracer or Zera who functions a bit more like Valeera in that he can't really 100-0 someone on his own reliably, but paired with other damage he ensures no heroes ever escape or survive the engage. I find his poke damage to be alright, actually. It's not great but if you do as you suggest and play a little forward to draw aggression you can get some good damage in with your AA added in to the Q spam.
Playing him that way racked me and my team up a ridiculous amount of kills. Like I was saying the other day, I average like 4.0-5.0 KDA as a player on most heroes. Milly averages like a full kill and a half more than me per death. On Genji last I looked my KDA was 13.51 in ~30 games playing from outside and then finishing my own kills or others.
can you US cats do us EU peeps a solid tomorow, and after you log in and get your gems / mega bundles and whatnot, can you log in to the EU server from the launcher (not on a different account, same account) and see if you also get seperate gems to buy a seperate bundle on there?
How can you draw CDs with only a 1.5s deflect though? You E in to offtank, W, soak some damage maybe or they hold their CDs, you eat a stun and then only have D to get out? Or reverse D and E. I just don't see how you can bait much without getting immediately ate up if you're in there.

Least you can get back into Diamond easier from there than it was in S2.
Do we think he's OP? I'm expecting him to have a fairly low win rate on release.
Oh maybe im using offtank incorrectly then, all i mean is drawing cds by being in their face and dodging and w'ing it and doing this actively and on purpose; stuff that lets your team go in for free like arthas w or tracer blinks. He def shouldnt tank hits or anything. The way its been going for me is that ill agile dismount in, do my thing, and either d out or e if it's super hairy. It's like the illidan comparison (who i kinda label "offtank" in my head too)
I said it before, but wouldn't be surprised if he's 40% winrate and wouldn't be surprised if he's 60%. It's that bipolar on PTR.
I have dominated with him. Had a few teammates do well as well. 70% of the ones I faced fed like crazy. They got a lot of kills and decent damage but it was feed city. At the end of the game they'd have relatively similar stats to me in kbs and damage, but I'd have way more assists and 0-2 deaths. Another 20% were about average and did decent all around. The final 10% were putting up similar or better numbers than me damage wise and KDA wise.
When I play him or some of our friends have played him he feels insane. Then I see my team just ragdolling my opponent. Insert shrug ascii emoji. Hard to tell how much of the domination was PTR matchmaking and how much is him being legit.
Oh I gotcha. Yeah I think we're on the same page then. Your skill level probably makes that a bit easier for you too. I am probably a tad more passive because my reactions just aren't quite as good.
Either way, based on PTR I've never had more fun with a hero. He's kind of the fun I hoped I'd have with Lucio. Obviously they are very different heroes, but I thought I'd main Lucio and it didn't really click. Genji clicks with me for whatever reason. Even when we got stomped I still was able to have good games and get kills.

The Ptr matchmaking was so bad it's hard to judge. I played games as Varian where I was a literally unkillable god, soloing players who clearly should never have been placed in a match against me.
(That's not boasting, I'm not exactly great, but we're talking tracers running into varian and probius split pushing. Very clearly much lower level players).
I do think the new map is going to be a cluster fuck though.

I honestly think he's a bit more like nova then anything else. Showing up out of no where to kill people who thought they were safe.
Even though I've seen him do really well on ptr I'm still really not convinced.

Didn't you detail earlier why he'd be good on Tomb? Naturally he'd need good waveclear around him for that, but he could be a real terror to anyone who steps too far in lane.
I think he can be good for BOE too due to the mid clashes. Tomb as well possibly because of his ability to contest.
The real underrated hero on Hanamura is Nova (or anyone else with bribe). Bribe is OP on that map.

He's really good against backline too, he wins the trade when he dives usually and if they flip out he'll usually get their mobility spell too, tho i suppose at some point ppl will just muscle memory the gimmicky stuff and play more cool-headed. But he's pretty zaryaish to me, fairly reliant on their team to get the important things done

I just find the question funny, because it implies the person is blaming Blizzard for their deaths because they're using it at bad times.
Did you try to Genji or is it just down? Genji queues have been everywhere from instant to 10-15 mins for me, sometimes back-to-back. Ketch and I had instant, 10 mins, then like 3 mins the other day.
I'll be fucking glad when this is live. The PTR matchmaking and queue times are not something I'll miss.
