Hey new Wii U owners: B2G1 Wii U games (Target 6/22 - 6/28) - WiiU M/L Bundle $275

The one in my town refused to do it. She said that someone during a deal a couple of weeks ago burned them for a bunch of games for less than $20. I told her that I couldn't help that her staff was incompetent but that what I was requesting was legit. I had print off the exact policy linked in this thread and pulled it out for her. She was condescending and told me that "she knew what it said." I asked why on earth she wasn't going to do what her very own company lists, and she said that it was now "their store policy" to only do one thing or the other (a special or a price match but not both). This was the same store that the electronics department would not sell me PS4 games when the street date was lifted prior to the PS4 release because "he didn't want to."

I called the store 40 minutes away, she looked at their online policy and said she could do it. I hopped in my car, drove 40 minutes away, and came back with Dankey, Mario, and Lego. Also randomly picked up Zombie U for 15 today at Walmart. Four games for a little over 100 is pretty nice.

If you said this to me, your game would be over. Any word out of your mouth after that would be a waste of both your and my time. Not smart.

Can you explain what you mean? She described a time her staff got burnt by someone who pulled a fast one over a poorly trained individual so she is then deciding to randomly take it out on a customer following their policy? I guess I can kind of see what you mean it if was berating the individual needlessly, but even my friend who was with me mentioned as we walked out of the store that he had never seen someone act like that in a store.

Believe me, I'm not that asshole consumer that "is always right" and I work a form of customer service/development as a living. I cannot stand people who bitch and moan, particularly when it holds up lines. The incompetent line came up after about a five minute discussion and she was just grasping for straws for a reason she couldn't do it. It was almost to the point where now in hindsight I believe she was the one naive in the past and it got her reprimanded.

Anyway, if any of you have had struggles with other customer service reps not following through with their online policy, contact Target Corporate directly by phone. I did so and received a coupon ($25). They also mentioned they were going to correct the information at that particular store. I did not even have to provide the rep's name (never got it anyway).

Even if you felt she was incompetent, you don't say that to her face. You politely but sternly state the company policies and then prepare to escalate it to the next level when you need to.

Don't insult, don't badger, don't show any hint of anger. You'll catch a lot more flies with honey than vinegar.

I thought Smash Bros was eligible, lol. Guess that's only online. I ended up getting DK, Mario 3D World, and Pikmin 3 since they were the highest priced+the ones I wanted. only paid $60 thanks to gift cards from Target's triple trade in deal a while back, not bad. I think I pretty much have every Wii U game that I want right now besides Sonic: Lost World (I'm sure it'll be $20 or so soon).

Decided to head to target with my wife and picked up wii fit u, DK tropical freeze and wii party u for 110 dollars. We got the b2g1 deal as well as price matching amazon on the wii fit bundle and wii party and then used the target reddcard for an additional 5% off.

Real happy with what we got.

Wii party U is great, been having a blast playing it with my kids.

So is this deal even worth it for someone that has all the noteworthy games?
Only missing Game and Wario and Deus Ex.

Is the only preorder game that can be used is Smash?

I have W101, Zelda HD, 3D Land, NSMBU, MH3U, and Zombi U. Gonna be getting DKC, Pikmin, and MK8. Can anyone recommend a 4th game?

Can anyone recommend a game NOT named Lego City Undercover?

NVM: Sonic Lost World it is!

Joke post, right? Isn't Sonic Lost World the worst game on any system ever?

There is a reason why everyone is recommending it.

Wouldn't the best deal be to buy three Mario Kart? Make a family account on Club Nintendo. Take all three to GameStop and trade them for a fourth copy. If you have your receipt, they should let you trade all three. Keep your fourth copy and you should still have like sixty bucks(if you're a power up pro member) in trade credit to get another game or two. Get your four download games and you'll get twenty bucks back from the digital deluxe promotion. Use that for NSLU. If you get the $200 WiiU from Nintendo, you've now spent $320 and you have six games, seven if you count NSLU, plus sixty bucks to get more stuff at GameStop.

Holy shit... unethical much? that's a bit extreme, and shady as hell.

EDIT: I can't make use of the promotion because i already own ALL OF THE THINGS for Wii U....such an amazing library despite all the shit it gets.

How is this an ethical problem? Target sells three copies of Mario Kart with a promotion they are running.

GameStop sells one new copy of Mario Kart and gets in three used copies which someone legitimately purchased. The customer gets extra trade credit because of a promotion GameStop is running. GameStop doesn't even require the box for trading, much less the Club Nintendo points.

Four family members each register a copy of the game and choose a free one via Nintendo's current promotion.

Those four digital games generate eShop credit through another legitimate promotion from Nintendo.

Just because it's a great deal doesn't make it shady.

I just got my haul from Target. Super rad. I'll nab Windwaker as my free game, but I would've picked Pikmin and bought DK Tropical Freeze if I'd have thought it out better.

Oh well! The target was out of Tropical Freeze, so I made due.

What else should I be looking to get that's out now? I'm thinking Wonderful 101 for sure.

How much is nsmbu+luigi dlc? I cant find it on the target website

That's the copy which comes with the WiiU bundle. You can't buy it standalone unless you buy it used. And even then, you're looking at like seventy bucks.
Ah I see. Thought I was going crazy not being able to find it standalone.

Going to head tomorrow after work and get DK, NSMBU and 3d World. That with Nintendo Land, Pikmin 3 and MK8 will last me a long time.

Incredible deal.

Super Mario 3D World - Price matched with Amazon to $49.84.
Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze - $49.99
Mario Kart 8 price match to $48.70 - FREE, plus I'll get Wind Waker HD for free with it.

5% off with my REDcard. So even with tax, that's like $100 for four brand-new Wii U games. And I got the refurbished Deluxe for $225 including tax and shipping, so $325 for a Wii U Deluxe and five games is something I am definitely okay with, especially since all those games are good to great.

Well, looks like I'm returning my amazon order of MK8 and W101 to get them again at target with Deus Ex: Directors Cut since the dual screen feature was never added to PC.

I own a Wii U ! I just paid $48 after tax due to the gift cards I recurved from taking advantage of the triple trade in value a few weeks ago. It took a while to set the system up but I've dived straight into NES remix 2. This is fantastic. Hopefully I'll be able to scrounge enough cash for the B2G1 promotion.

man, this is something i totally would have done when i was a teenager.

not judging or anything. i just did a lot of this stuff when i was younger.

ZombiU is damn good and can be found very cheaply nowadays. It was rushed for console launch and is unpolished but also the best survival horror game released in years.

Deus Ex HR and Rayman Legends have their best respective versions on WiiU.

Seems feasible, great post :)

Well.. joined the rainbow colored dark side finally. haha

Bought the Wii-U M/L Deluxe system with 4 games netting two free titles plus the freebie coming with MK8, two wii-motes (Mario/Luigi colors), silicone and screen protectors for the big controller, and I went ahead and forked over $39 for the 2 year Target warranty extension. They said it also covers 5 games should anything happen to them they'll replace them no questions asked.

Cannot believe I spent this much on Nintendo today.

Now to register everything and hope I can at least pop over into the Gold club on Nintendo's website. Not sure if i'll be able to without the player surveys that come a week later?

Also question, why does Nintendo give coins for games based on their current in-store value, but only give 160 for registering a system?

Honestly you should probably wait until next month to register the coins. It'll start the "year" over again so you can use those coins towards platinum for next year.

Might go check my Target after work today or tomorrow.

Thinking about Mario & Luigi console bundle + SM3DW + Mario Kart + DK:TF. Probably would get Wind Waker for the free game.

I think it's at the point where there's enough value to justify buying it even if no more games ever came out. Might as well have some Mario and Zelda fun!

was going to use this sale to get NSMBU, Lego City, and Pikmin 3...but I just ended up buying NSMBU and Lego city used on amazon for a total of like $60, wasn't really interested in pikmin anyway

target was sold out of everything

Its a great choice. I am having a blast with this console, and you are getting 5 games well worth the money at full price.

Oh fuck I forgot about monster hunter.

I'm thinking: Monster Hunter 3, Wonderful 101 and Wind Waker HD as my third game.

Pretty good GAF?

Ooo too bad I already grabbed 3dw and mk8 or I would have gotten those two with tropical freeze. That's the only one I need/want right now.

Good stuff if you've used MK8's free game for something other then WW already

The deed is done!

Free game will be Wind Waker. Will be setting it up tomorrow, prob will play Mario Kart with my roommate.

wow, I didn't know they were selling 3d world in a red case now, like mario kart. though, I did have a feeling that they would do that for future mario games.

shit.

my target didn't have monster hunter in stock. Settled for ZombiU

Wind Waker, Wonderful 101 and ZombiU. not bad.

or maybe i can go to another target and get monster hunter, donkey kong and pikmin 3 oh goooooddd my wallet

Isn't monster hunter less expensive than dk and Pikmin? If you do it this way, you should return your first batch and do two transactions. Ww, dk, Pikmin on one and the other three together.

Probably gonna do this today. I called in my local Target and they are doing Price Matches. Apparently they have a station just for such things so I don't have to provide a print out, they can do it right infront of me.

I originally planned to get:

Dong Expand Tropical Freeze
Super Mario Bros 3D World
Sonic Lost World

But, apparently Sonic Lost World isn't in stock. :( I already have Mario Kart 8, Wind Waker, New Super Mario Bros U, and The Wonderful 101 so I wonder what to get. So close to just getting any game and seeing if I can trade said game to my nearest GameStop for Sonic.

I just dropped by to tell you guys that all of you that bought/suggested ZombieU is a good person with excellent and refined taste.

that's it.

oh, also, get NES remixes.
