I thought they were having issues with the Daleks (i.e: someone else inexplicably owned the rights to them or something). Good to see one there. Dr. Who isn't Dr. Who without the Daleks... and the modern SFX treatment looks pretty sweet.

BTW, the Doctor guy looks pretty good. Has a little bit of character in his look, but he's neither freak nor pretty-boy... and seems more interesting in the trailer than any of the post-Tom Baker Doctors...

A friend of mine watched the first episode - said it was OK. It seems like they are self-contained, not stretched across 3 or 4 episodes.

Terry Nation's estate own the rights to the Daleks, and I think they were holding out for a better deal, obviously forgetting that they were previously happy to license the image to Victor Lewis Smith for his Gay Daleks sketches in TV Offal.

I watched the first one and enjoyed it, and I'm looking forward to more. The first one was a bit of a catch up episode for those perhaps unfamiliar with the whole mythos, and it was pretty well done. Some cheesy bits, but it wouldn't be the same without them.

Which doctor is this -- the 9th?

I'm downloading the movie now and can't wait to see it. I grew up on Dr. Who and my mom is a major Dr. Who freak; she owns every VHS/DVD out there. Can't wait to show her. ^^

Christopher Eccleston is a great actor. I'm kinda bothered by the lack of a scarf in that promo, but i'll get over it. And to my fellow Canucks (or Americans who get CBC), it starts on April the 5th at 8pm on the CBC. http://www.cbc.ca/doctorwho/

Yeah, it is infact very cheesy but the great thing about it being 'Doctor Who' is that it's meant to be cheesy. If the show took itself seriously it would be terrible.

Sweet. I'll try to tune in... and a bit of cheese is not a bad thing when it comes to Dr. Who. Too much might be an issue, but it does look like it's a bit more serious than it might have been in the past...
