Hilarious or Awful?: What is your first reaction to this image?

He should have kicked her into the pool, not onto the concrete. Getting nailed onto concrete like that could be very bad. Still found it hilarious though.

Who thinks to footsweep someone in a fit of rage?

Listen, I'm a father of three beautiful daughters with a possible forth on the way. I love my wife and have a great relationship with my sister and mother. But sometimes, ya gotta footsweep'em.

really?

In a heated argument some bitch just throws a liquid of some kind in your face and you're going to shrug it off?

You're already pretty fucking angry in the first place aswell.

I'd expect at the least a slap or a pointing.

Hey I totally think she got what she deserved...I probably would have poured a drink on her as well but that's stupid because its a pool party and people are already wet so only thing left to do is shrug it off and go holla at another broad.

she could have avoided it in many ways. not the issue.

guy gets drink in face after pressing wrong button combination - what is the right response?

the right response is the one where he wins or loses the least.

his response was shit.

His response was again caused because of her...

If you light a bomb it explodes...you leave it alone and it does nothing.

HER RESPONSE WAS SHIT

some of you talk like she strolled in the place, picked out a guy she thought had an annoying face and threw her drink at him.

if you play your cards wrong you lose, if you play them really wrong you get a slap or drink in face if you're unlucky enough to be upsetting that kind of girl.

reacting violently to that just means you lose even more.

whats this about him getting stabbed?

At what point is allowing someone to completely walk all over you going to make sense? You're taking the white knight thing to a whole new level.

It was a little bit more intricate than you're making it out to be. If you had paid attention to the video, you'd realize she is making extremely derogatory statements at him and insulting him at every turn. She was the major instigator. After being insulted based on my ethnicity, after having a drink thrown in my face, after being flipped off, and after being egged on I would have probably acted in the same way if I was that person.

As I've been saying. Spot on.

don't get me wrong, this is neither white knight or being walked over.

a) it annoys me when a piece of evidence is wrongly interpreted. from what I can see he's provoking her.
b) the guy would've seemed a lot cooler if he had turned round to the camera, wiped himself down and laughed it off with his mates.
c) the girl would've seemed like a big headed bitch who thinks she can emulate film stars.

being a man isn't about walked over, its about doing the suavest and coolest thing. violence is almost never it unless defending someone.

If I ever run into any of you “violence is never the answer” types in a bar, I’m going to send my girlfriend over to you and have her slowly pour beer on head. It’s cool though because she’s a woman and provided she never escalates it to violence, shit will remain cool.

Monkey D. Luffy would have gomu gomu'd her ass.

:lol

Girls smell out guys who won't stand up to them. And tease them to death.

God bless 'm.

Is this the misogynists anonymous meeting thread? I think I remember some of you from the Rhianna/Chris Brown thread.

Seriously, you losers complaining about being "disrespected" need to all crawl back under the rocks from which you emerged.

Respect is a status which is earned, not an entitlement. NO ONE owes any of us; you, me, or anyone else a goddamned thing. The sooner some learn this, the better off we'll all be.

Further, if that POS in the video started the situation which, based only on the video we get to see, it appears he did, he deserved to have a drink thrown in his face. He's a complete bitch for escalating the situation further by actually doing something to her which could've seriously injured or, possibly, killed her. IF the further information is true, and he's now paralyzed, karma is clearly the sweetest bitch in the universe, because that douche got an escalation in kind....

Ok but that's a hell of a lot different from forgiving women for every stupid thing they do just because they're women as your first post implied.

As far as the whole who started it argument, the video starts at the end of their confrontation. It's not fair to assume one way or the other there.

Is there any version that shows what set her off?

So you're from the "being an asshole is always the answer" crowd.

i thought it was hilarious.

that was my first reaction anyway.

as far as the question on it being justified, well, i am one of the first to talk about equal rights when it comes to choking a bitch and dissing internet white knights, but throwing a drink in someone's face, male or female, is not really a reason for physical retaliation.

what i'd do is piss in a cup, then throw it in their face.

Kokaku said:

no he wouldn't. non-retaliation is a recurring theme in one piece :D

the forgiving women thing is of course one of those vague lines. don't be silly and take apply it to every context. and of course you can't forgive everything.

I stand by the fact that if you chat to a girl and do the wrong thing, slap or drink-face are fair game.

Just like being beat up by a guy is fair game is you dissed his mother.

that kind of thing.

I dont know who deserved what in this video, but the guy made the wrong call in terms of his manliness rating

Not hilarious or awful imo.

Bitch needs to learn you can't just throw a drink on somebody and expect no retaliation because you're female.

My personal view that I want to believe: We're equal, and as equals get the same response, sex/gender aside.

What my reality tells me: The average woman can't handle what the average man can dish out. So rather than establishing neither superiority or equality, we'll take the position of inferiority. Weak.

You instigate violence (verbal or physical), you accept the consequences. She tossed beer in his face, he let her off easy by only sweeping her rather than viciously beating her face in like he would a man. She is fortunate that someone who clearly outclasses her physically was kind enough not to end her life for imposing on him.

You say sorry to someone who initiates violence with you? As someone mentioned earlier in this thread, heeding to her demand (of superiority) only reinforces it (the bitch-like behavior). Kind of like a bowing to a bully.

So how do you earn respect if you are the laughing stock of the party? Come one people, be more realistic, in an ideal world all this could be right, but the world is cruel. If you just stand around, you are not cool, you are not suave, you are a pussy, because thats how it is, like it or not. You are the guy that gets walked over by everyone, no respect, nothing.

Now I'm definitely not saying that the guy responded the right way, but acting cool (thinking it's cool), walking away or just brushing it off - to me - is as wrong as what the guy did.

Drink in face should never = sweep the leg. Seriously she could have had a massive brain injury with that kind of spill. Where I'm from, if you do that in front of a group of dudes, you're catching an ass whipping. I agree with posters who say equal humiliation should have been dished, maybe throw her in the pool, even pissing on her would have been funny.

Interestingly enough, what he did is legally wrong (in my country at least) and the other alternatives you suggested are not.

wat

Watching the video, the sound of the woman's voice is enough for me to know that I wouldn't want to have any contact with her. I'd walk away, simple. So why didn't the red flags go up in this guy's head before all of this went down?

cuz dat bitch needed to get tossed

I thought the video was funny. Perhaps the guy overreated but if you are going to throw a drink in someones face don't back off. Step up and take the guy out. It was pretty funny to see her get brave and toss the drink in his face but then retreat when he advanced on her. Why throw a drink if you are't prepared to deal with the consequences? You cannot hide behind the "Im a woman you can't do anything to me card" when you are the agressor. If he had attacked her while she was minding her own business then I could understand the outrage.

The Dark One

No amount of presumed humilliation would justify retalliating with such escalated violence. That drunk chick's head clearly hit the concrete hard. There is always some way to be the bigger person in an altercation like this.

Based on some of the replies in this thread I really hope some of you mysoginistic douchebags never reproduce.

Sweeping the girl was pretty dumb. Even if you believe she deserved it or he was justified it was still a stupid move.

Our society rarely gives men the benefit of the doubt when it comes to hitting women. That fact should always be in the back of a guy's mind when it comes to these types of situations.

If she would've gotten seriously hurt, you think a judge would've said it was okay because she threw a beer in his face and trashed him?

To me a girl like that isn't worth getting sued or facing jail time over.

Hellraizer said:
So you always act according to law, all the time?

No. I had a Camus quote typed up but thought it was probably a little much and so I went for the easy argument because even if it doesn't work for you I'd guess a lot of the "bitch deserved it" people have much respect for law.

As for the Camus, we can't stop fighting the plague. We will lose always but to stop is to lose your humanity.

This. I have nothing against hitting women in particular, but if she'd cracked her head on the concrete he would have deserved to spend several years in jail. Think of the consequences before you act.

First reaction was "ouch."

Unless the drink was actually acid, there's really no reason to do anything that could result in someone's head hitting the cement.

This is true, he could have smashed her grill but he went Cobra Kai on her ass instead. Falling on concrete would have been scary, but a KO blow and then concrete possibly followed by additional stomping would have been terrifying.

They were both equally wrong, but it could have been much worse and at least he showed that much constraint. You gotta at least give the guy that. And judging by her hands before and after falling, she was more concerned about her designer shades than anything.
