He is doing no wrong and people in public (even kids) have no right to privacy in public spaces.
She has a problem with the law, she needs to take it up with a local politician. Until the laws change, she can bring her kid to private arenas if she is afraid of the boogiemen.
I laugh at the idea that it's ok if he owned a kid, because that makes all the difference.

Well I'm not exactly small myself.
But fighting people bigger than me has never been a problem in the past.
Anyway on a side note I didnt read the article or realize that this guy might have been paparazzi and was taking photos of a group of kids.
I was thinking more of a situation where a guy just started taking pictures of my daughter by herself.
In that scenario I'd just beat someone's ass.
But even in Duffs situation I can still see why she was upset. Some parents have much stronger protective instincts than others. My wife and I are that way. Our family is everything to us and we are always vigilant in keeping our daughters safe.

Taking pictures of other people's kids without there permission is creepy as fuck dude. Parent clearly didn't like it and complained he kept on staying there and made more pictures probably because fuck human decency.
They should just hire some guy that stands next to his kid 24/7 in a public space 5 centimeters away from his kid and then just say "well bra its public road i can stand where i want dude". It's totally legit.

I don't have any problem finding ways to relate with that desire. Imagine if it was a birthday party at the park instead of peewee football. You're throwing a birthday party in the park. Friends and children are there enjoying the party. Off in the background, about 100-meters away is someone with a high grade camera taking photos of not just the park but also some photos of your party.
I don't have to like it, and it's not like the person walked over and asked the kids to pose for some photos.

I don't care about legality. I don't like randos filming or taking pictures of me. My rights superscede someone elses. Sure he has the right to take photos in public, but I don't have the right to ask him/her to not photo me?

My neighbor started filming me on my balcony, and the cops couldn't do shit.

Walking up to a stranger unprovoked (sorry, someone taking photos is not provocation) and breaking their jaw is likely going to put you in jail for a little while at least and then cost you a bunch of fines and probably tie you up in some litigation.

Ya and I am raging against that. We live in a world where everyone has a camera in their pocket. I don't think its fair that I have no right to tell someone to stop filming me or my children. Like I said I don't really care about it being "legal", I think its not right. If I ask someone to not take pics of me or my children (if I had any) that should override someones legal right to take pictures of me. I know it doesn't and I don't agree with that.

There is a know rule in the film and photography world. Dont take pictures or video of someone without their permission or knowledge. It's one thing to just have people in the background of your pictures but this guy was using a hardcore telephoto lens. He knew what he was doing and taking very close and deliberate pictures of the kids which is a big no no.

Whether you like it or not, you don't need people's consent to photograph them in public spaces. The law is on this guy's side.
I'd absolutely recommend against photographing children without permission as that's just common sense and decency, but it's not illegal if you're in a public park.

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I am absolutely annoyed by amateur photographers who have to show you every snap they ever took and even tell the story on how they got the snap. "I had to lean against a guard rail and kneel down to get the light to reflect perfectly" yada yada yada. Go get paid to take some pictures of a wedding or other event if you want to call yourself a professional. Nobody cares about your landscape shots you think are so unique.
