Loving Hokkaido. New rankings for me:

7) ICA Facility
6) Colorado
5) Bangkok
4) Marrakesh
3) Paris
2) Hokkaido
1) Sapienza

Here's to Season 2! And just cause I'm feeling listy, my current (WIP) 2016 GOTY list:

12) Forza Horizon 3
11) The Tomorrow Children
...
10) DOOM
9) Dark Souls III
8) Battlefield 1 (MP)
7) Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare (SP)
6) Hitman: Season One
5) Titanfall 2
4) Uncharted 4
3) Inside
2) The Witness
1) Overwatch

This game is...fulfilling my ''RPG Townz'' itch like no other.

This is essentially what I wish RPG towns to be like.Detail out the ass, constantly moving, active NPCs and just varied natural feel to the location.

I just got the game and dicked around a bit.First impressions are just pure awe at what the devs have created here.
That was always one of the coolest things about the Hitman games. Each level being a lively clockwork sandbox for you to infiltrate and manipulate. I remember Blood Money's parade, heaven/hell club, and hotel blowing me away

This game is at an entire other tier compared to that

I gotta say that the presentation and production values continue to amaze me. I only now went to Sapienza (after clocking 17h in paris alone) and the scale of things combined with the high quality of the details is astounding. The game looks good, it has good lighting and generally good textures and 47 looks good in just about anything. A lot of love has went into these levels and I hope that the confirmation of season 2 indicates that the games has been enough of a success for them. Absolution no doubt damaged the brand but I'm hoping that it can make a triumphant comeback with this.

I think this is actually the first game I've seen that might have actually benefitted from the monthly release schedule. I mean, I did only buy it now but I already know that I will buy season 2 episodes as they come. The levels offer so much more content than I expected. I had so much fun doing the challenges in paris, without opportunities or instinct. I pretty much turned everything off, except the minimap, but even that doesn't show npc characters to me.

Just got this in the steam sale, and just finished Paris.

Game is amazing. I've had so much fun trying out crazy plans and watching them unfold. It's almost scary how many different options you have. I killed Victor
By sabotaging the power cable in the puddle when he goes to make an angry phone call
, and Dalia by
putting the vomit poison in the wine then drowning her in the tiolet.
10/10. And I've noticed so many other potential strategies that don't even require a weapon at any point, I've only scratched the surface.

Wish I'd jumped on this sooner, this is the stealth game I've been waiting for since forever.

My main hope for Season 2 is that there are some levels akin to Heaven/Hell or Meat King. Some criminal underworld bastards to balance out the classy high-profile targets

Man going for 20 mastery shuffled around my rankings once again, I think here's where I fall now

1. Hokkaido
2. Sapienza
3. Marrakesh (Night)
4. Paris
5. Colorado
6. Marrakesh (Day)
7. Thailand
8. Sapienza (Night)

I just love Hokkaido the more I play of it, while spending more time on Colorado revealed some of its weaknesses, and its not that Thailand fell down the rankings so much as I appreciated Marrakesh the more I spent time on it

So while this game will hold me over for a long time, are the other Hitman games worth checking out? I just love how much freedom they give you.

can someone explain what contracts are? They just for fun user created missions?

Yes. Anyone can make a contract - you play a level in Contract Creation, mark targets, and kill them yourself using the disguise and weapon you want to specify. Then you finish the level and set the final conditions you want.

Some of the challenges for a mission can only be done by playing user contracts that meet the challenge requirements. For example, the Master Fortune Teller and Himmapan Horror challenges, which unlock special equipment, can only be done in contracts.

Also, featured contracts are user-made contracts that have been "promoted" by the developers.

Blood Money. Contracts is also good, but the mechanics are quite dated.

For a similar vein, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory and Blacklist are also quite good at offering multiple options.

Has anyone heard anything about them adding a Platinum Trophy on the PS4 when the physical release hits the stores?

It really irks me that there isn't one, I just need to finish the Hokkaido Escalation before getting 100% in the game. Hopefully they'll add it.

So my post is not all salt, here's my ranking of the levels.

  1. Paris
  2. Colorado
  3. Sapienza
  4. Marrakesh
  5. Bangkok
  6. Hokkaido

Honorable mention goes to the Summer Bonus episode on Sapienza, the different kills were great.

First thing I did in this game was punch the cameraman in Paris

And by the end of today I hit a pistol headshot from distance on the Sarajevo Six dude in Sapienza

Also FallingEdge you're not allowed to play this since I bought it first :p

We need to get some user contract sharing in here!

A little something I made for PC now that shurikens are a unlock.

CEF441ED84EA6C1D06352F7D123257609D3A3277

This is not actually hard, per se - just takes a long time. And you don't want to be too daring when one run takes this long.

This is totally doable even if you're new to the game and have no idea what he is talking about with plague doctors and katanas. Unlocking shuriken is the real issue.

Okay, you do also need to know how to get around Sapienza. But that's the joy of the whole thing.

I am just at the Final Trial and I must say that I love this fucking game already.
And you haven't even scratched the surface

And how genius was it to frame the tutorial as mini-sandboxes in fake locations? Simultaneously smart and stylish. Much better than the forced linear format of Blood Money and Absolution

I'm so close to having getting all the trophies. I also sorta wish they had added a platinum. But even without one, I've done practically everything.

I don't know when I unlocked the Tux with Gloves but this is my new go to Silent Assassin suit.

Tuxedo with gloves was for completing an elusive target in Paris. You'll unlock variants of the other levels' suits for doing elusives in those locations.

Fake locations with actors playing characters who end up being important to the story. Actors with dialogue dropping hints about events with future significance.

You can even see their names in the Contract Creation Tutorial. Everyone on the yacht has a name, even though that tutorial is the only place where you'll see them.

Got this the other day, and I just don't understand what compelled them to make Absolution.

This is perfect, and I am astounded by everything the game has to offer aside from a couple little minor complaints they could probably fix in S2, the game is effectively Blood Money 2.

This is the game I wanted when Absolution came out.

This is Hitman.

I'm at Sapienza, and I am marveled at the level design. Feels like a real place.
1/4 of the way through my first playthrough of the sapienza mission, got the first target just need do a couple more things.

With this being on sale on PlayStation 4 and Xbox one, is there any clear advantage either has over the other or does it just depend on which console I have the space for it on?

That's how i went by with BF digital gm haul..my X1+5TB=gawd damn profit.

Obviously wanted quite a few gms on PS4 because of the 1080p/running smoother experience for most of them..but I'll survive.

xxracerxx

Don't worry, I'll vouch for them.

It's just brilliant. I am just trying to do all the Challenges before I move on to Paris now and this game just feels like the Hitman game I have been waiting for, for years.

Got damn.

My god this game has been amazing so far! Got it for $30 on steam and just finished Club 47. My playstyle has been basically getting the kill(s) no matter what it takes which means basically willing to kill non-targets and spending periods of time just walking everywhere.

Start of the level, I was just walking around and managed to get a security guard disguise. Then I went on the major balcony that connected the west and east sections of the hotel. Killed all the guards there which led to a search. Discovered that an open window led to an opportunity of making the rock star's birthday cake. So I went all the way back downstairs to the kitchen, maneuvering past all the suspicious (closed white dot) NPCs due to the searching status.

Saw a waiter guarding the door to the restaurant's restroom. Knocked him out and stole his disguise. Walked into the kitchen wearing the waiter disguise and got to the chef that the opportunity wanted me to take out and steal his clothes. Knocked him out along with another chef in the room and took 2 kitchen knives. Managed to get the top half of the birthday cake which was what I needed to continue the opportunity but it was literally RIGHT NEXT to a chef who was suspicious of me. Basically I got noticed and ran straight out of the kitchen and up the stairs. I ran to the balcony and made it to the room where I was suppose to deliver the birthday cake. Although I was compromised, no one in the room was suspicious of me. I delivered the cake and waited for rock star to come into the room. I hid behind a counter on the right door exit of the room. Rock star comes in, everyone sings happy birthday, and BOOM! A perfectly thrown kitchen knife into rock star's head. Crime was noticed obviously and I fukking ran out the window back to the balcony.

I ran across the balcony back to the other side of the hotel where security guards were already searching for me. Only a couple of them had the closed white dot and they were opening doors to rooms without the required keycards to attempt to find me. I snuck behind one right when he opened the door to a room, knocked him out, and got me a new security guard disguise. Everyone was searching for me but there were very few suspicious NPCs thanks to the new disguise. I walked to the lobby and coincidentally met my next target, the attorney.

I followed the attorney (and his bodyguard) outside the front door of the lobby to the dock area. I saw that on the dock was a boat. I predicted that the boat would be a potential exit vehicle for the mission after I killed all targets so I decided that I should try killing the attorney while he's outside and nearby the dock. Turns out the attorney went outside to talk to some reporter. I hid behind some cover and aimed my gun at the attorney's head which apparently was normal for all the tourists around me to see since I wore the security guard disguise lol. Took the shot and ran towards the boat before anyone could react which did turn out to be an exit vehicle!

Low score since I killed a bunch of non-targets but goddamm that was a fun thrill ride to experience. This game is so good :D

yeah the game is really fun on that first blind playthrough when you're not sure what you're doing and you're scrambling to improvise after you inevitably (or not so inevitably) fuck up

not that it's not fun afterwards but I really savour that first hour or two of just soaking in a level

Hahahahaha, I'm so bad at this, especially when going through a scenario blind the first time. The most hilarious parts of things going wrong is when I kill non-targets unintentionally. I'm not trying to murder my way to the target, people just.... get killed somehow! I punch someone and instinctively hit X to knock him out but snap his neck instead. I drag an unconscious body to dump into a container only to drop the body into a container filled with deadly toxins. An assassin's path is rough. I'll remember all their faces in my sleep. RIP!

The Tuxedo with Gloves was an unlock when The Chef launched. I assume this means you killed him? :p

As of The Chef, each location will come with an unlockable suit if you finish an Elusive Target mission there. This came with the whole Silent Assassin unlock system for ETs, too.

After watching this it looks like you can re-load the game and challenges that you complete will still be unlocked, is this true? I feel a little stupid if this is the case because I thought you maybe had to complete the level for them to stay completed, lol.

This means I can re-load and kill my target in multiple ways during the same playthrough to complete a bunch of challenges?

It wasn't that way at launch but i think it caused some glitches so they changed it in a patch so that now as soon as you do the challenge even if you reload it counts. It is really good for levels like Sapienza and Colorado so you don't have do the other objectives when trying to do challenges.

Yes.

The only time you cannot do this would be for Elusive Targets, as they lock out restarting once any objective is completed.

Got this game during the BF sale (first Hitman game ever) and finished up the Paris Mission. Assassinated the lady with pure stealth after getting the right disguise and no one found the body. Felt pretty good that I was playing like a true 'hitman'.

The guy on the other hand I had him seemingly isolated in one of the gardens and distracted his bodyguard with a coin, but every time I'd try to do a corner takedown behind a ledge some other guard in the distance would spot what's going on and throw on the alert status. My rule of thumb going forward; never underestimate the enemy line of site in this game. Eventually after enough save reloads I just lost patience, shot him with the silenced pistol, and ran away. Went into 'hunted' status but managed to blend in with the fleeing crowd before making my escape. On one hand it felt incredibly sloppy, especially compared to my other assassination attempt going so smoothly. But it also was a bit exhilarating being able to escape successfully while in that high alert state.

Looking at the opportunity list, looks like I missed most of them. Not sure I'll bother going back to try the different ones, but I really like that there's so many ways to approach the same mission. Definitely looking forward to playing the next episode.

It's true.

My first playthrough is usually slow, exploring everything, and trying to stick to civilian areas. But later ones I abuse the save & load to unlock challenges and reach mastery level 20 faster. Otherwise you would have to play each mission 8 times or so, which imo is excessive.

It was like that in the first episode but some people complained (shakes fist) and they changed it to the way it is now.

Haha oh okay. Yea, that was an easy SA.

The whole point is playing multiple times and trying out all the different opportunities, even those that do not appear on the Opportunity list.

Loving the game so far.

I still got 38gb on my hdd but my ps4 won't let me download a single pack. It just says cannot download in the download section.

I bought the season 1 collection.

Makes me happy FFVII remake is following this type of dev to be honest.

Picked up the game a few days ago, it's fucking brilliant. I really like Hitman but I am absolutely shit at the games so this is why I really appreciate the 'Opportunities' and tracking. Blasphemous to hardcore Hitman fans I'm sure but for me it's great and even leads to me replaying more than I would. Games fabulous.

I haven't checked but is that the original Diana voice back ? I know she was replaced in Absolution.

No. This is the same Diana from Hitman Sniper on mobile.

This is the third woman playing the role of Diana in the series. :p

I really like everything about this but I struggle pretty hard.

I'm super terrible at progressing through the first story mission in Paris.
