Only one of them would need to be elected, and the other can log into their account and ban people while the other is bored.
Was it Dragona who did this? Or Red Scarlet?
basic leadership, changes that impact people should be explained and addressed not doing so leads to conspiracy theories and rumors. This is not terribly difficult to understand.
Maybe if it was made interesting where the losers of the election accepted permabans rather than a bunch of "forum celebrities" having a go at it for laughs.

I really like off-topic, because a lot of cool stuff gets discussed here, but there is a lot of really creepy circle-jerking and gossiping, for lack of a better term. Instead of, "this is an interesting post" it's more of a "oh, this person posted, I'm going to quote them and hope they notice and I can be funny!" a lot of the time, which is kind of weird and sad. I don't know, it's not a big deal.
Still the best forum on the internet, but it has its eccentric sides. I guess it's weird to talk about it in general like that too, it's not all people, but it's noticeable.
The circumstances surrounding someone being demodded are not relevant to you whatsoever unless you're running GAF-TMZ.

certainly true. But if you're running a "community" and a main members role is changed without a word it is not surprising to see the "community" speculate. In fact I'd say it's expected.
When I change one of my team members roles at work its none of my employee's business, it's my call. However it's their team too and as such I have to accept that if I don't control the message they will. Again, basic leadership.
That's because like baseball, you won't pretend to like football until playoff time.

No. The least you deserve to know, maybe, is that it happens, but not why. That's not your business.
It's a forum. Enjoy yourself or don't. But don't fool yourself into thinking that you have a right to know the private affairs of how EvilLore governs his own forum.
If an admin leaving changes the way you think this place is moderated, for the worse, then I'm sure you can politely PM EvilLore about how you feel if you back it up with reasonable evidence, and something may or may not change. Or you could just stop coming to GAF and leave your mark that way. But otherwise, there's nothing to see here besides the fact that people are no longer mods/admins.

Sure, but what you tell them is partly decided by the person that left. And Hitokage already posted in this thread; he could certainly do so again and give people more information yet hasn't. So I think it is pretty clear what he'd like to make everyone's business.

Because when it all comes down to it you don't really need to know. I've seen stuff like this happen at other forums before, and I've seen people post messages just like yours(including myself once), and nothing really ever comes from it. You can try public outbursts, you can try private outburts via PM, you can try talking shit about the forum on another site, but what it ultimately boils down to if the staff doesn't want you to know, you simply will not know(unless you're friendly with someone on the staff, but even then you often don't get the whole story). And if you disagree, then they suggest that you leave or they just ban you outright and are done with it.
It's just not worth the fight.
my complaint isn't so much about hito, hito is the wisest man on gaf. If he decided to step down he has a good reason.
My complaint is the "why you guys speculating?!" there was no official word so let us have our sewing cicle damn it.
