Love Hondas.
Got a used 91 CR-X HF almost 10 years ago and at 270k miles, it's still running like a champ and saving me a bunch of money. I remember it only costing me 9 bucks to fill up the tank when I first got it, Last week it was $24

40mpg combine (adjusted for 2008 standards) and even the new CR-Z hybrid can't keep up. Of course the CR-Z has airbags, ABS, stability control, etc. My car has seat belts and that's it.
So yes, I'm saving money but I could also die at any moment.
Glad to see Honda bringing the HF trim back for 2012 with the Civic. Now they just need to slap it on the CR-Z too, take the hybrid motor out put a lawnmower engine it and that's my next car.

I despise the "new" Honda. My current car is an S2000 and my previous car was an RSX. The 3G TL (Type S) was the last great Acura, and the S2000 was the last great Honda. Really disappointing.

Very disappointing to hear that about Mercedes-Benz. The family drives nothing but old Benz, and I was hoping to get a recent model when I graduate.

About the sport CR-Z... rumor says that it'll be a turbocharged Si and Type R, with the Type R having a 1.6L engine making 200 hp. It's hard to imagine Honda switching over to turbo (although they did it with the RDX), but doing it in a mainstream sport version of their newest car would be the best way to introduce it.
And a 2600 lb CR-Z with a 6 speed and a chipped ECU + mods making 250-300 whp on the stock turbo would be sweet indeed.

God I love Hondas. My 97 EK4 was such a great car to me (much more than this damned 300zx I drive now), though I've always wanted a 2001 Prelude. I also love my girl's RSX, I always have a blast driving it. NSX is a dream car for sure.

I currently drive a 2002 Accord V6 coupe, and it's been a great car. It has close to 135,000 miles on it and hasn't had any major issues at all. Definitely hoping to upgrade within the next year or two, though.
I'm probably gonna switch to Subaru, though. I really like the Forester (for practical purposes), but if I have my choice I would love to drive an Impreza WRX STI hatchback.
The only Hondas that gets me excited right now are the new Accord coupe and the CR-Z. Neither is really practical enough for me, and the Accord Crosstour is ugly, IMO.

Had all sorts of random stupid issues...electrical problems due to rust constantly accumulating on the battery contacts, the thing seemed to just eat tires for breakfast, loud and noisy ride thanks to the awful-sounding 4cyl and nonexistent sound dampening, accellerated about as fast as a tractor. I think my parents paid something like $13k for it and it was a stripper model, which looking back seems kind of ridiculous.
I went Nissan this time, 2008 Altima SE, and so far I'm quite happy. We'll have to see how she holds up, though.

Who hit who and how? Because it has as much to do with that than how well it was made. I got rearended by a well made VW Jetta and that thing was absolutely destroyed while my shitty Ford Escort had only a slightly caved in trunk with a small crack and minor scuffing on the plastic bumper that prevented my automatic trunk opener from working. The Jetta was rated much better for safety.

I drive a Toyota while my parents have a Honda Odyssey. Still drives absolutely smooth and is holding up quite well.

Another lifelong Honda owner weighing in. I've owned a '97 Civic, '03 Accord and '07 Ridgeline (still own the last two) and have never had any issues with any of them. Gotta give it to Honda for knowing how to make good, reliable cars.
That said, I'm looking at getting a 3 series BMW or a Ford F150 for my next car purchase, if only just to try owning a car that's not a Honda for once.

my family has had extremely good luck with hondas...I drove 1 from 90k to 170k only changed the muffler, tires, oil, coolant and preventative timing chain.
New 2008 civic...no issues only 30k now. Parents...1992 Legend, bought at 40k now has 240k (get rid of it already).
Brothers have had 2 civics, 1 accord, 1 pilot...hundreds of thousands of miles with one issue...broken suspension part on the accord that had an outstanding recall.
Pretty boring, everybody has them cars, no doubt...but they sell for a reason.

I miss the RSX, that was a pretty neat looking car for the price they were asking for back in 2001ish.
The CR-Z seems interesting but is there any reason I'd pick it over a Volkswagen TDI for instance? I prefer the looks of a Jetta but that dash does look pretty hot.

I'm in a hatchback phase of my life and I really like the look of the Fit. I wish my GTI looked more like it (while keeping everything else the same).
