I understand the existing contracts for timed exclusivity and what not.. but i wonder what happens to the Zenimax portfolio on PsNow in the near future.

Lmao 😂 what are you asking I'm pretty sure whatever games you bought from bathesda prior to this acquisition will still work and whatever comes after their contractual obligations to Sony and Nintendo won't be on Sony it Nintendo platforms unless they allow gamepass.

The all caps "HONEST QUESTION" can be taken out of context obviously by lack of recent logical and thoughtful approach on this forum as is also your response with LMAO and a laughing emoji...I'm not trying to have another thread topic roll down the hill of trolling, warring and other spiteful rhetoric..
i haven't bought a "game" i purchased a "service" called PsNow that has Oblivion, Fallout 4, New Vegas and the like all on it (Im not sure these games have an expiration date associated with them like some titles that go on the service) so my question is "since MS now own the IP's of past present and future Zenimax titles, how does the availability of said titles on PsNow service work? Are they going to disappear within the next few months? Or do they stay on the service indefinitely if they already were supposed to be n it indefinitely?

ESO just tweeted out that the game (elder Scrolls online) was coming to PS5 and XBOX SX/S, just a few weeks back.

The game (and Fallout) make waaaaay too much money in the in game cash shops to give up. ESO will probably stay at least

It will be down to what the agreement between Sony and Zenimax is, their will be a date they have already agreed too, once that ends the contract will end and the games will go or they may re-negotiate, however with Xbox owning them there's no chance of that.

Xbox may also buy Sony out of the contract early if they want to in order to have these games on Xbox only.

ESO and Fallout 76 will continue to get updates and expansions on PS5.

The Elder Scrolls VI and Fallout 5 will be Xbox/PC exclusive.

I haven't tried ESO but the recent Elswyr expansion and the Markarth stuff looks like too much fun to pass up. I won't be getting a PS5 until next year but im OK with playing these games on PS4 as im not in a rush to get robbed coming out of a store with a PS5 or Xbox

This is the most likely scenario.

There were several games published by Double Fine that were made available through PS Now (Broken Age, Day of the Tentacle, Grim Fandango), and at least one from inXile as well (Choplifter HD). These games continued to remain available on the service, even after Microsoft acquired their publishers.

They stay on PSNow at least until next gen and we see what happens with the merger, M$ will probably let them stay there id imagine, more exposure of those games even if not on their own platform only helps M$.

Its going to make no difference at all. Existing product is there to be monetized, all that changes is how development is targetted going forwards.

Contracts will be honored. Like all contracts, the party owning the IP may be favorable to a renegotiation to keep them there, but it won't be a favorable negotiation for Sony.

Outside of PSNow? Service titles like Fallout 76 and ESO will continue to receive new content and updates because not doing so would make no sense.

Just like M ManaByte said, The Elder Scolls Online and Fallout 76 will still be supported on PlayStation platforms.

But future games from Franchises like Doom, Fallout, The Elder Scolls will be exclusive to Xbox and PC.

I also expect a few games coming to Nintendo platforms because of the good and friendly relationship between Nintendo and Microsoft :)

But Microsoft did not purchased Bethesda for 7,5 Billion Dollar to support their direct competition which is the PlayStation Brand!!!

Microsoft wants to increase the Value of Game Pass and they will not archive that by releasing future games on PlayStation. It's simple logic ;)

Nothing will happen.

In the future, your Zenimax/Bethesda games will be on all platforms and Microsoft will make more money.

They didn't buy exclusives, they bought revenue streams.

Anything prior to the buyout will probably continue except you are giving money to microsoft and betraying your side in the console wars. Can you handle the shame OP?

They already said that games will be on other platforms "on a case by case basis". PS5 isn't getting everything. You don't spend 7.5 billion dollars without keeping a few things for yourself.

Convincing people to join your platform with game exclusivity is far more fruitful than selling one copy of a game from which your competitor still takes home 30% of the sale.

He specifically asked for Bethesda/Zenimax games on PS NOW.

I believe there is a large group of consumers who either completely don't know about PSNow or confuse it with PS +. This is not to say that these people should "do your research before comin at me Bruh!!" but more of an angle that Sony hasn't made any large gains in their services department PR work to compare to what MS has done and continues to do. Sony should be doing MUCH MUCH more with PSNow and its library and accessibility.

I wonder how much money they will make with no Playstation sales and it being on gamepass which also means no Xbox sales?
Still alot I guess but with 24 studios on gamepass I dont know how they will work it out without that MS money.
Thats a lot of studios to fund from gamepass and Pc sales

Acquisitions and company changes of this nature have the ability to completely change the landscape of the entire gaming industry and the way the industry moves forward with all content from all publishers. For the breadth of games these "services" offer to consumers to possibly be sliced away in one fail swoop can leave a lot of confusion and doubt for either side of the "war"

The same doubt and confusion could be applied to MS's GP offerings if Sony was to purchase UBI or Take2. What happens to all the titles on the service at that point? Do they continue? Do they disappear in the middle of the night? That question is what needs to be answered for the paying/potential consumers.
