I visited a family member who moved to the top floor of some 12 story apartment block last year, and just standing at the bottom and looking up I felt dizzy, looking down the stairwell at the top made me want to get out of there.
Even just sitting in their apartment I felt uncomfortable

Basically, they live in very boring places with not much social mobility, want the internet fame, and this is at least better than hanging around the wrong crowds doing drugs like krokodil or crime as their mothers say.
