The thing is, if they put top talent and gave them top money, thats literally taking away all of those from actual ps5 games, that arent niche and will sell in big amount of copies;P
I bet not many playstation owners would be happy if A-Teams from all sony 1st party devs got money and next 3years of time to work on psvr2 game coz instead it could have been ps5 games;p
I agree with this, though from the reviews it seems to me like the problem here isn't really a lack of talent but just a lack of funding to allow for a bigger scope. It sounds like the combat is pretty decent and the few setpiece moments are cool but it's all very linear and over very quickly. With some bigger environments that allow for some exploration, more combat encounters against more enemy types, more setpiece moments, maybe some proper side quests, etc this would have probably reviewed better.
I get it's a niche game for a niche audience and Sony isn't going to invest into some VR exclusive game on the scale of Forbidden West with a massive open world with 60+ hours of content. But IMO 3 years ago Alyx set the standard for the scope that should be expected from a full priced AAA first party VR game, and this ain't it.
