Horizon Forbidden West: outsmart your enemies

Definitely looks like there's more chances for ALLOY to create nice and neat combat executions. Will wait for more gameplay to see if it is all just surface though (I will say the "hunting" in HZD felt good especially when you engage with all the tools you have in your kit).

some of the fighting animation sequences seem a bit stuttery when transitioning into one another, but that`s complaining on a very high level here. Looks amazing so far.

Wow. That looks incredible. Hard to tell if the foliage density and draw distance has been improved, but it looks stunning so far.

Yeah, ND has definitely raised the bar too high with their motion matching. They have definitely added a lot of new animations like takedowns and melee combos, but it seems like the same traditional animation system underneath. No TLOU2 like upgrade from the ground up.

I wouldve also liked to see some facial animations during gameplay, but again thats a nitpick.

talking about being nitpicky: In some spots of the human fight beach sections Aloy is floating quite a few centimeters above the sand.

Man if this game wasn't delayed could have been the best holiday for gaming ever. Next year gonna start off with a bang.

Looks amazing, next year is starting with bang.
It's hard to believe this is cross gen.
Hopefully there is a new trailer at TGA?

Probably cost too much in the cpu, but then again look at the sand physics so maybe just artistic choice
sand physics are basically the same as the snow deformation they added in the first game's DLC.

And yes, it's probably a CPU/GPU limitation just like the first game. They chose to spend the resources on making other things look better. Though I was hoping the PS5 would get upgrades like enhanced foliage due to its specs, but i guess thats too much work. Taking a last gen game and making it run at native 4k instead of native 1080p is far easier than creating two different versions with better physics.

Do we know if the PC version of Horizon got fully interactive foliage?

foliage is reactive in PC version of horizon , thats why im puzzled as to why it isnt in the sequel

The best looking game I've seen so far.
Looks like they brought SunhiLegend to the studio to make some clips.

Only for your character right? if you watch a monster or npc walking through any foilage it's doesn't interact unless that got changed.

it is evident when she moves through the tall grass at the end of this short video , not sure about enemies or NPC characters

Looks awesome graphically. I like the red search lights from the dinos.

That is a weird take down on that human enemy. Looks like a vulcan throat pinch or something.

Her alternate costume looks better in my opinion. I like the brown leather.

That bomb move looks sick. More stuff like that and I might have to get it day one. Still waiting for more. I still have to play the first though, so I can wait.

I really didn't realize she was so floaty, and her jump is so high. She moves like Spider Man almost in some of those clips - vaulting off people's chests and then shooting them with an arrow 15 ft away lol. Looks fun though. I'd rather have it be a little more arcade-ish if it expands gameplay options.

A crossgen game from guerrilla looks as good if not better than exclusive games from other developers.

They are definitely the number 2 between sony studios when it comes to graphic, santa monica can cry in ragnarock for what i care.

Other than that, aloy has the most exagerate stealth neck-break animation in videogame history, that's some ninja shit.

Yep, I actually like that. Not every game has to be grounded in reality. This feels like uncharted instead of TLOU which is just how it should be.

Wow looks really good. One gif she dodges a a raptor and jumps into the water and starts dodging more robots underwater. Can't wait to play this.

I dunno man, looks so cartoony to me
Thats just their art style. Death Stranding is based on the same engine and looks photorealistic at times.

P.S It's been 2 years since DS came out. Keighley and Kojima are best friends and secret lovers, there is a 99% chance, we see a next gen Kojima title and a good 50% chance its based on the Decima engine if Jimbo decided to invest in him.

I present to you, Abby The Psychopath.

Do we saw the same aloy gif when it does a fucking ninja jump to break a neck? What abby does is brutal but pretty basic and by the manual, i did 2 run on tlou2 i saw every damn melee animation in that game.

Looks amazing by God!

Does anyone feel else the super gamey, super human movement looks a bit odd with the incredible next gen graphics. Lol

This isn't a complaint just an observation I would happily take less realistic but responsive and fluid movement than realistic clunky movement.

I think there number 1.( I am guessing you mean Naughty Dog?) Overall I think Horizon and Death Stranding are the PS4s most impressive games.

Sure last of us and God of war beat Horizon at close up details but there not rendering huge impressive landscapes or massive robots that you blow a 100 different parts off.

Kojima agrees too!😁
