Horizon: Forbidden West went GOLD

Hey, Can I buy this for my PS4 and upgrade free to the PS5 version? Like to be able to play on both systems without buying it twice.

I wonder how loud the PS4 Pro fan will be when playing this. Damn thing used to sound like it was taxiing for the runway when I played Monster Hunter World.

Looks decent be interested in the side by side comparison videos come launch.
This is.. this is just for like years of people mentioning this fan... For the record i never noticed the fan being particularly loud.

Maybe because my old Alienware 17 got pretty loud when its (regularly cleaned) fans all started whirring, i guess i built up tolerance...

...also i have been living and 40m by 5 vertical metres from a reasonably wide city road.. 6 lanes...

.... then again maybe everyone has a soundproof chamber in which they can hear their own bowels moving, but I'm just in my living room...

ON TOPIC:
I'm pretty shocked to say I'm not on that list. I've not bought it yet. I had a preorder from Amazon but cancelled it when i signed a new lease and haven't renewed it yet.

I'm in a holding pattern of just anticipating the game coming to second hand shelves real quick. If it happened with Metroid Dread it'll happen for FW.

Super hyped about this game. I chose PS because this kind of sure thing is, at this point in time, guaranteed.

Yes. The ps4 version gives you the free upgrade option for the ps5 version. This is the last sony game that will allow that.

sad in a way, this team wont have a proper ps5 release until PS6 is almost here, likely
I was thinking that shouldn't be the case since they should have been growing their studios still but I forgot covid was also still a thing. Although I still don't think it should be since this was suppose to come out last year so they should have started on something new already unless they are still working on dlc for this game.

God, you're boring.

EDIT: VFXVeteran VFXVeteran have you finished your tech review on Halo Infinite yet? Wating for that for ages, don't let your fans wait.

Halo Infinite is completely gameplay focused.

This game in comparison is ... foliage focused.

I mean, all machines in this game are shrouded in grass, you have to use detective vision to see them properly, even if they are standing fairly close.

Also, use that slo mo to take basic weak point shots, thanks to machine animations being a priority, instead of shooting them.

Halo Infinite doesn't even have iron sights, let alone slo mo. And yet you take head shots after head shots with greater accuracy.

It's clear which game looks better and which one plays better.

It's all about priorities.

Hopefully Halo wouldn't be brought up in Horizon threads after this comprehensive explanation of mine.

Here's a video with some additional PS4 footage. It really looks incredible. I'm now curious to see the PS4 version of GoW Ragnarok.

Demon Souls remake and Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart say hello.
Demon's Souls is an old game with updated visuals. Ratchet is the real deal. Looks amazing.
Possibly Returnal as well but I haven't played it yet so I can't say much about how "next gen" it is, iirc it's made in Unreal Engine 4 so it's still held back by old thinking I guess.

Guerrilla is working on another game. Not only Horizon Forbidden West.
So, it's Horizon Call of the Mountain and I hope KillZone will be back, or a new IP. We know Sony cannot compete with MS in money hat, so better for them to push 100% on new IPs and great exclusive games.

You have to be fucking blind to not see the machine dude, shrouded in grass?? what fucking nonsense is this?!

Also enemies in horizon are far more agile and fast than your average covenant and you use a bow to hunt them, not futuristic weapons with immediate response, and they have different weak points to hit in their body, not just the head like halo, so they are naturally tougher to kill, 3 medium sized dinobot are equivalent to like 20 brutes...

P.s. halo is mainly focused on gameplay because 343 can't write interesting stories or characters to save their life, not for lack of trying dude.

The amount of people sharing their PlayStation tile to show they are playing the game. Proper clever move by Sony.

let the reviewers feel special and get all those likes and hits sending the twitter sphere into a hype frenzy!

clever marketing really interests me.
Build the hyyyype traaaain.

I can see that. It also looks like the game isn't really all that CPU heavy. But that's a spillover from almost every game from that generation.

I guess this is why the new UC collection didn't change all that much. The engine is what it is.
The new Uncharted 4 and Lost Legacy collection is a remaster not a remake. If it was a remake built for the PS5 it would look even better

You've missed the entire actual point. This is why you don't talk about things you don't understand.
You said Uncharted 4 on PS5 looks similar because it's using the same engine right? I was just pointing out that's the case for remasters or am I missing something
