Horrifying MLB 17 Glitch(Trigger warning)

I know this is the Internet, and we are required by Internet Law to accept everyone's self-diagnosed "serious mental condition" as fact, but good Lord you people are sheltered if you think this is horrifying. It looks like a straw man cut in half.
Some people find it terrifying. It happens. Still it doesn't mean that they are sheltered.

Some people just find some stuff disgusting as fuck. My problem is people trying to trigger fears though, because it's for no other reason than to troll.

Thinking about it now, we were so close to having our dreams come true.

You're upset people had a reaction to this? lol

You don't have trypophobia. Congrats?

I don't think that guy is upset, just sceptical of some of the trigger warning culture. And rightfully so.

I don't really understand this. Do you feel the same about people who have a fear of spiders? They don't bother me, but I understand arachnophobia is a real thing.

Why is this any different?

Convincing people they're less resilient that they actually are is not doing anyone a favor. My mom passed away from a really bad stroke. I witnessed the entire thing. I was terrified of anything stroke related after that, BUT I later went on to work with stroke patients. And I did fine. I did experience a real PTSD episode when I recounted my mom's episode and passing to my wife. But we are not weak, fragile beings. Unfortunately, we can be led to believe we are, and even convinced we are supposed to be. But that does no one any good.

You don't have to agree. But I know from personal experience it's true.

I don't believe your example is really what's happening here.

So yea, I disagree.

There's a difference in coaxing someone to face their fears than doing it for lulz.

I have problems with the latter. Like, I wouldn't mind it if the OP posted the picture, but we all know users who does it after is doing it for reactions.

But it is what's happening here. People are being socialized to avoid facing their fears. True pathological phobias are not that common. The average person on this forum is not going to experience any sort of psychological trauma from seeing those images. And the very few who might find them disturbing could actually benefit from viewing them, I.e. Immersion therapy.

But IMO the worst part of trigger warning culture, as I said before, is convincing people they are less resilient than they are.

As always, no one need agree. But my experience and work in the field lead me to those conclusions. YMMV.

I do agree. People shouldn't purposefully set out to annoy or upset anyone. If that is indeed the intent.

"Stop being horrified by stuff I'm not horrified by"

And what does being "sheltered" have to do with anything......

This doesn't freak me out in the least, but it's weird to dismiss the people who are. I get very uneasy and anxious when I get anywhere near balloons, so I get it.

This isn't school (where hard topics are a necessity) or a theraputic environment (where exposure therapy is done in a systematic manner). This is a gaming message board. Not everyone wants to look at genuine body horror. It's not because they're fragile snowflakes, it's because this is their leisure time and it's nice to get a heads-up.

Hot Take: I think some people would like to see the graphical glitches while some other people might not want to see it.

I feel it's less the cause of suffering from trypophobia and more the fact that the figure is clearly humanoid but lacks any real identifying features. Other than the eyes and holes all over it's face, which don't help at all.

Like that frog or the waffles posted up top don't make me feel much of anything, but goddamnit that Show one? Fire, all day, everyday.

You realize not everyone has the same threshold for certain things, right? For example, this stuff doesn't trigger me at all, I have no problem looking at it, but put a fucking spider picture in there and I'll close it in a heartbeat.

Me too! I can't inflate one, my heart starts rushing and I get way too anxious.
