How do I utterly destroy an upstart rival

You want to run him completely out of business. That's more than just beating him in business. You literally want to take away someone's livelihood. What's wrong with you?

When I said there is bad blood between us, I really meant that there was bad blood between us.

Look I come off as angry, yes. I don't actually want him ro go down in flames. I do want a decisive victory though.

Unless you're willing to be a monster and go with some seriously unethical business practices, the only way to shut him down would be to have a more efficiently run business with a better end product. Take any other avenues and a) you'll feel disgusted with yourself and b) you'll be toeing the line with criminal actions, and great job posting about it you clumpwad.

This reminds me of Apple vs Samsung so much lol :p

Send someone you know to work for the guy and be a spy. Dig up some really bad dirt like tax evasion or if he has any domestic battery cases against him. Then post it on twitter or something.

Also do a pricematch and offer something more attractive to the clients like a gift card or something :p

I run an ethical ship here, unlike... some people.

I am not gonna do anything unethical OR criminal.

That's not a proper win.

Anyone running an ethical ship wouldn't have asked this question. I can tell this guy has your blood up and it's making you nuts, but it sounds like you have a good business plan to out compete them and without getting into what your actual business is the only responses you're going to get are going to be irrational ones.

Just run a better business than him. Knowing that he tried to beat you and failed should be satisfaction enough.

Good luck. Nothing pisses me off more than some dude copying all my shit. I would be just as irate.

I dont have any solutions since I dont know your industry but hope you can come out on top.

I am in a situation where I wish to utterly destroy a business rival of mine. How do I best go about it? His entire strategy is to copy our products and undercut us.

We've implemented plans to combat it successfully, but I want to go further and grind him into the dust.

I'm picturing a Sasuke/Naruto rivalry in my mind.

Implant Itachi's eyes and up your power level to crush him once and for all.

Sure, here is a direct quote;

The scary language you use, and you literally said how much significantly bigger than him you are.

Me and my family came to san fransicso from Guan Jing in the Xianku province in the 50's. My parents worked their ass off to start a small business to support us through school. A decade later another came came and ran him out and made my dad declare bankruptcy,

His spirit was completely broken, and he is still a zombie all these decades later. He is just an empty shell. A husk of his former self.

Not going to let that happen again to another person.

You will rue this day, the day you made a thread on gaf.

Hire a really creepy and stinky guy who has no issues invading other peoples personal space to go stand in his store all day.

When Steve Jobs did it, he was a corporate hero, visionary, and cult leader.

When I do it, I'm a psycho.

What is up with that

Correction: Steve Jobs was a visionary and corporate hero for launching iconic and successful products. When he went after Android, all he did was embroil the company in an expensive and distracting legal battle that hasn't done much besides make lawyers and testimony experts rich.

He wasn't able to stop his biggest rival, and chances are you won't either, unless you catch them doing something extraordinary illegal and/or dumb. Better to focus on making your business better, rather than focus on making someone else's worse. After all, if someone could so easily ape your business model and start making challenges at your customer base, more rivals can't be far off.
