Single player games this is less of an issue for obvious reasons. Though most gaas titles seem to live at least a few years before they’re inevitably replaced. 1-2 if youre a cod/sport fan
When cheaters takeover the multiplayer.
When they remove the servers because money.
When the game is stuck on outdated and/or failure prone hardware.
When a sequel comes out and they pull support of the original so you’re forced to buy the sequel.
When Mom cleans out your old childhoods bedroom closet without asking and casually mentions that she threw out your old toys.
