how is canada's chips game so ahead of america's?

I haven't had chips in a long time, but I really miss Ketchup chips. They're just great if you want something salty and sour.

Other chips don't even have a chance man

The most disturbing revelation is that Brits eat fries with a spoon.

Uk'er here, never seen chips (fries) served like that in my life. Probably some southern nonsense.

My older sister lives in the States, and she drives up to Canada every so often to buy Canadian chocolate bars in bulk, because she hates the taste of the chocolate sold in the US.

That's just sad, chocolate is terrible in Canada too. UK/European chocolate is the king. (Canadian/USA milk is awful)

The only crisp that matters.

The UK has a huge selection of crisps. I miss them. Australia tries but misses out on some wonderful possibilities.

Wow that OP is a huge letdown. I thought this was going to be about some kind of local/interesting chips in Canada but we get Lays and Doritos. Way to stick it to em Canada!

Ketchup also flat-out just tastes better up there. I have no idea why that is other than maybe the food industry is better regulated. When you compare a KFC chicken breast from US against Canada, it's just absurd how huge the US one is.

So this thread has given me the impression that Canadians find "ketchup flavored" a desirable and marketable way to label something. Are there any other ketchup flavored atrocities in your country outside of chips?

Those Ms. Vickie's chips are definitely in some stores here in the states - I've had them a couple of times.

Last year, I tried the Ruffles All-Dressed chips on a layover in Montreal. They were pretty great.

... Food should taste good? Leave your normative statements off of my snacks. If I saw that product in the store, I'd throw them all on the ground. Preachy high-horse riding sweet potato garbage...

Certain types of bars are actually pretty good here, but I always eyeball the ingredient list before I buy.

Where Dairy Milk is concerned, I always take the UK import stuff over the Hershey hot garbage.

That's the company name...but either way what matters is what's on the inside.

4. doritos roulette
regular doritos but some chips are spicy and disguised as regular doritos. now, i'm no slouch to spice, so it was surprising how spicy it is (more so than most products labeled "spicy").

i was surprised when i heard these flavours are hard to come by in america.

I didn't understand the Roulette one, really. I bought a bag once, expecting to be hit by a really spicy kick once in a while, and...

Nothing.

I guess I either got a "defective" bag or I'm getting too used to hot stuff, because they all tasted the exact same to me.

Mind you, I love heat, but I'll draw the line somewhere... I once put a tiny little drop of ghost pepper hot sauce in a very big bowl of chili and when I was done with it I couldn't feel my legs anymore. Never again, heh.

My 2 faves, right now, are these 2 Ruffles flavors:

Cheesy Quesadilla are top-tier chips, imo, and the loaded potato skins are basically onion, cheese, bacon and sour cream. Awesome shit.

I'm still jealous that the US has the cheesy garlic bread lays, though. Those are some of the best chips I've ever had.. Whenever I go to Plattsburgh for a day or something there's always a big haul back!

3xOnion

3 tastes of onion in a delicious dance upon the tongue, a strong onion flavor followed by a sweet aftertaste that massages your tastebuds into a state of pure bliss. Best chips to have come out here in Sweden in a long time.

True, some of your speciality type bars are good. I was bribed into bringing back some Reece's Pieces when I was out recently.

On topic: Kettle Chips win for me

I'm in Omaha and get #3 easily. #2 is a fucking abomination. I would like to try #1 and #4, but have never seen them in stores.

In Canada, Lindt sells a whole sub-line of their Excellence bars (the "single-country-origin" bars) that they don't sell in the US.

I want to try those miss vicky's jalapeno chips. Wish Amazon had a smaller package for sell. Are they spicy and with a good taste?
