they've been saying this for years, Kennedy will leave when she wants to leave, nobody will force her, lets just hope she leaves Filoni and Favreau alone.

She's an insanely experienced producer.. she was co-producer of ET.

Star wars movies went off the rails for sure.... but then she also produced The Mandalorian, which has become absolutely MASSIVE to Disney as it has been one of the huge keys behind Disney+'s success.

All these people care about is money.. and really, they care about the Disney stock price.. because that's their money.. not the company's that's spent on the movies themselves which didn't make quite the return they could have.. and the stonks are good.. really good.

I recall her being a co-producer on Back to the Future, not too shabby.

The story arc was on thin ice long before The Last Jedi. I'd imagine people have made whole documentaries and theses just about episode 1's faults.

Why is the video in OP have a question mark after the dude's name? Why are they asking me if it's a quote by him? Why do all the videos listed in this thread have a cucky click-bait title and thumbnail?

Shes a banger of a producer with decades of experience.

But it doesn't take a smart man to realize that she has, over the years, became more central in being more just in her social construct.

To think that she has absolute power and sway though, is wrong.

She's a fan of great ideas, and concepts, but she also wants to find a compromise with her own ideals - thus why Mandolorian exists.

Saying she ruined Stars 7 - 9 is ridiculous because Disney themselves ruined it on their own two legs.

Looking at this guy’s videos he seems to do one every couple weeks about how Kathleen Kennedy will no longer be running Star Wars. I guess he figured out it’s a good way to reliably get views.

If she was in charge of the sequel trilogy, what argument is there for allowing her to do that again?

What does a producer do?

There’s no mention of creative inputs. So how is she at fault if the Star Wars has gone to shit?
She controls the creatives, hires the creatives.

The disjointed sequel trilogy because Rian Johnson decided to use Mad Libs on JJ’s groundwork. The buck stops at Kennedy for not making sure there was an agreed upon overarching story that had to be adhered to.

She steers where the franchise goes

A producer can mean lots of different things on a film. A lot of producers are good at putting deals together, finding projects and geting the money to make a film. Other producers, normally line producers deal more directly with the day to day filming. I think what sometimes happens is a producer who is good at organising and deal making gets some success and they think they're creative. I've seen it happen, and everyone rolls their eyes but you can't say anything because it's the damn producer.

It's a guess, but I doubt Kathleen Kennedy had much creative input in those 80's films, but it seems like since taking over Star Wars she has, and it hasn't worked.

Bingo.

Producers often have far more creative control than the director. Look at Feige’s MCU or Broccoli’s Bond films.
