How long does it take to feel a shot of Vodka?

A single shot?

...Never? I mean, alcohol's effects are cumulative. I highly doubt you'd feel much, if anything, from one shot. Add a couple more, in quick succession, and you'll start to feel a buzz. Although sometimes the buzz people feel after one drink is purely mental.

There's no succession to it unless you're in a group of people who want to binge or unless you're a fellow at the bar ordering one after another. Alcohol hitting your guts is the same as for it as with anybody. Eating is the only thing that changes it up. There;s the ones who have more tolerance but that's likely cuz they drink several nights a week.

If it takes you until shot 5 to feel it, then you are an alcoholic and should stop.

shot 5 for me :(
Are you drinking beer with your shots? I'd feel it after the 5th shot but that's normally cos it'd be the 5th pint too. (I'm Scottish we drink cos it's the only thing to do around here)

Wait

Are you serious OP

How about you fucking try it for yourself, this isn't Yahoo Answers.

Wait I bet you're 21 or under hence the lack of thinking for yourself.

It's about how fast your stomach will process alcohol.

If you had a good meal, it will be 30 minutes to an hour before you absorb liquor in your blood.

If you are drinking on an empty stomach, it can be less than 30 minutes.

Also, a single shot won't do much by your weight.

A couple and you will start feeling it.

I'm sorry, but why the fuck does GAF talk up alcohol so much? I know the drinking age in the US is quite a bit higher than here in the UK, and there's possibly less social/frequent drinkers(?) but acting like a single shot of Vodka is a big deal? And advising a max of 3? Whaaaaaa? Most of the talk in this thread is tame as fuck, and I'm a skinny 11 stone runt.

*EDIT* And now we're talking timings and blood alcohol content? You gonna do some quick caluclations before that order from the bar? Fuck me.

I downed most of a bottle of Hornitos last night for boilermakers, and wasn't even close to being drunk by the time I was done. All depends on your tolerance really.

I think people are concerned about someome trying to drive idk

You can do a shot with co-workers without going on a binge. Get out of your house and talk to physical people every once in a while. Jesus.

You'll be fine OP. A shot is pretty much equivalent to drinking a pint. If you're feeling dizzy, chill out for a bit and drink some water or take a cab or uber/lyft. It was a single shot.

Oh god. Here's a good rule of thumb. If you're driving, you can have a single drink. A beer, a shot, or a drink with a single shot in it. After that, don't drive. Your post came across as you trying to reason to yourself why you should be able to drive. Don't. Just don't.

Edit: I don't give a shit how big you are or how you can do 4 shots and be fine. One drink. After that, take a cab/uber/lyft. End of discussion on my end.

A single shot is 0.4 ounces of alcohol. A pint of beer is 1 ounce of alcohol. Big difference.
