"Everyone is going to get it". That's like saying everyone is going to get cancer, aids or whatever. You could probably scrape under my fingernails and find some pathogens there, doesn't mean "I've got it".
It has no similarities to either cancer or aids, so that comparison makes almost no sense. It's similar to the common cold or the flu in the way it gets trasmitted which basically everyone gets during their lifetime.

Got it early this year. At least I managed to stay at home for about two weeks recovering and resting, while fully receiving my salary.

Nowadays companies and governments just don't give a fuck anymore, and you don't receive your salary at 100%.

I probably had it and didn't know. I gotta be a prime candidate for it. I'm in the bar most of the day/night, constantly mixing with people. I stopped wearing a mask months back. I was going to get tested when this whole mess started but I saw them shoving a tube up someone's nose and thought fuck that. I only had the first jab, not because I'm anti vacc or anything. It was just I expected to get it and when I didn't I figured I didn't need the follow up jab. Pretty dumb for sure but I'm one of those guys who won't go to a doctor for anything less than a life threatening injury

Wait, did you just say "It's just the flu"? The circle is complete.
I said it is similar to the Flu, as in both are contagious respiratory illnesses. It's not like fucking cancer of all things. Compared to the Flu it is not as infectious and is quite a bit deadlier.

2 weeks? it lasts about 4-5 days. I wouldn't pay you 100% either then.

Yap, two weeks. Went to see my doctor and she said my lungs were not ok and advised me to stay put.

So yeah, either you like it or not you would end up having to pay me 100% back in the day, because companies were obliged to do it.

Thats called short term disability where I live, and companies wouldn't pay that insurance or gov't would if you could prove it was real. I don't see how companies would be forced to pay for something they can't control unless that is part of policy.

I remember covid during early 20, 21 until crowds came back to the worlds delight I liked having stuff reopen, your loss of you get sick, masks, boosters, social distancing feels like unwritten rules at this point and following correct protocols for your sickness.

Not had anything like it during the pandemic, but, pretty sure we all got it Christmas 2019. Severe to acute breathing issues, no pain, loss of taste, and naturarly whilst on vacation on Barbados of all places. We all got it in the group, and the crap hung around for 2-3 months before you really felt "better"...

Luckily, they have morphine cough drops over the counter, legally, so we all flew home high as kites (oh, and it was also fun because Lufthansa was going on strike, didn't know until the morning if we would even get home!).

Not a fun vacation, 3 weeks of suffering.

Me! Wife and I haven't got it as we've been very careful still (masking indoors and in crowded areas outdoors, staying away from parties etc). We'll hold out for a "just a very mild cold" version of Omicron. Both of us are immunocompromised so we don't really have a choice esp. with RSV etc also running around.

I have a runny nose almost every day but have never had covid, likely never going to get tested again either as I haven't showed any other symptom and all my other pcr tests have always been negative.

It's fucking wild, I've been in close contact with employees, family and friends who all had covid at the time and I've never had it.

Just about fully recovered, It was 2-3 days of feeling like shit but after that it wasn't too bad, the worst part is loosing my sense of smell, which I noticed six days ago. I'm on day 11 and feel pretty good. Starting to pick up on some smells, so that's good. Zero jabs/boosters. I remember that last time I had the Flu, about 19-20 years ago, was worse than this, for me. I really did think about going to the hospital back then but just rode it out in bed for three days, smoking weed and eating chicken noodle soup :messenger_tears_of_joy:

You can't catch it, if you don't test for it.

I've never had it surprisingly. I have a weakened immune system and tend to pick up infections pretty easily. Covid would have probably killed me...shame.

I never got it as far as I'm aware... but who knows maybe I was just symptomless. I did have a scratchy throat like 3 times or so for ~3 days each within the last 3 years, but I got that before some times as well, so not sure

Many “Whelps”! Handle It!
You need to hurry up and catch it, otherwise you'll be susceptible to some crazy variant like 2024's Butt-COVID. COVID of, and in, the butt. You don;t want that.

I am 99% sure I got it in February 2020, but of course no testing back then.

I am 100% sure I got it in August of this year. It was a bad flu for like 4-5 days, it sucked having a fever in 95 degree weather, but I got over it.

Well, my family had it during the autumn. I had a feeling of having a cold, even though I don't live with them, and my mother had been up at my flat. I then tested positive with a self testing kit. I didn't think it was the worst illness I have had, but you still have to be careful if you are around anybody who has serious health issues. You could by mistake, make them truly unwell.
