How much are you anticipating House of the Dragon on HBO later this year?

Did the ending to Game of Thrones turn you off so much that you no longer care about any series in the GOT lore? Or are you excited to dive back into the GOT world again?

I'm in kind of a wait and see. If the first few episodes are really good I'll be back in, but if it sucks I'll bail on it quickly. I do have hope for it though. Other than The Witcher, pickings are slim for medieval fantasy. The Wheel of Time was pretty bad.

Excited, but not crazy hyped yet. I will be once it’s about a month to release. I don’t get suckered into hype for years and years anymore for video games or movies anymore and it’s so much better. You learn to appreciate stuff more at the moment.

But it is probably my most anticipated show coming up. With all the hate GOT got it’s still miles better than most shows ever anyways. And 100% the best in its genre.

0 hype. Almost no interest.

I am trying to be super conservative with the amount of shows I watch and usually my fiancé is watching something. I haven’t been interested in much lately.

Zero anticipation. I will let the season air, see what the feedback is, and maybe, maybe watch it if people seem to like it.

GoT burned me bad. This will have to be something special for me to give a shit.

I’ll watch it just to see if the writing is so shit that Arya pops out of fucking thin air from the middle of no where just to kill a main character….

although they filmed some scenes in Portugal and I’m curious to seen them, my expectations in the show is zero!

Zero interest. Grrm is a bum in my book for the way he's tried his fan base. I was glad nightflyers failed. He should be heckled everywhere he goes.

Never watched GoT (tried the first episode twice but fell asleep both times, but I had the same with Westworld so I guess these prestigious HBO series are just not for me) so zero interest I guess.

Maybe who knows. But I will do what I did for GoT and wait for it to finish then binge-watch.

Also, Last Kingdom needs everyone’s attention. Give that a go.

Prequels usually suck, there is no real novels to base this on, the ending of GOT sucked (the whole last season and some before that too).

My hype is negative and i wont watch until someone else tells me its amazing.

I have zero hype but will watch 1st episode to see if its any good.

The problem with GoT is it ended in such a messy way, tells me the show producers and writers didnt give much of a shit in the final season and just wanted to end it.

Doesn't feel me with much hope for this new show.

I’ve heard the last season was good!
For all mankind is also great, season 3 is about to start…

Bought all books after a few seasons. They go downhill very very quickly. (Book 3 is the high).

So no, no idea why he's even bothering to be honest. Dude is minted. He openly has spoken about the fact he doesn't care about releases.

Guarantee you Elio and the other person who commented (negatively and were involved in writing the tome of back-story) are involved. I'd make a cash bet on it.

So as others have said, will wait for reactions because fuck wasting all that time again for a ruined story.

*Everything is terrible*

oh no!

*Everything blows up in Kings landing and Winterfell*

Again?

And his next book? hahahaha. At least we got a Theon chapter, don't care about Dorne. Funnily enough boring in the books and butchered by the show. How that got by producers is astounding. Maybe we'll get Darkstar "I am of the night!", that never went anywhere.

I used to watch game of thrones constantly on repeat until the last few seasons and as it was so rushed which made it the worst thing I've ever seen I'm not even remotely interested in whatever the series is called that you typed at the top of the page.

If it can somehow be that good that it makes me forget game of thrones then I'll definitely watch it but at the moment I'd rather stand on slugs than watch anything to do with that stuff ever again.

I don't believe I'm alone too, in my opinion HBO should pay the actors of game of thrones to re-shoot the final few seasons or the new stuff is going to get off to a slow start.

It's a huge budget dark medieval show. I'm going to let a few episodes run and then sign up to watch them all. I'm not expecting to have my life changed, but it's hopefully going to be decent.

I'm expecting it to be better than the house remodeling shows my girlfriend makes me watch.

I'll watch it when ever I have a subscription but wont be ordering HBO because of it. The original spoiled every interest I might have had.

The final season, more precisely the 3 last episodes, of GoT is a parody and I can't wrap up my mind on how this was validated to be shown.

That being said, we (me and my wife) had a blast watching the whole show several times despite the decline on the last 2 seasons (and again those 3 last episodes ?! The final one is straight up comedy, how anyone involved in it thought in was a good idea ?).

I am not particularly hyped for House of the Dragon but will definitely watch it.

Never cared much for GoT to begin with. So no, not excited for this. Also because this is actually the first time I hear about it.

Loved first 6 seasons of GOT. 7th was flawed but still made me waiting for more. 8th season after first 2 episode went downhill really fast. Sorry not interested in prequels unless they are pure 10/10 material. HBO force RR to finish his books and remake GOT than I'll consider paying.
PS. You know I'm really sure someone will finish the books and GOT will be partly remade 10 or 20 years from now.

Zero. I don't give a shit about the Targs. The only show I wanted they cancelled: The Long Night. Give me more North of the Wall spooky stuff.

The second I heard they canned that show and left this one I pulled the ripcord.

Zero hype, won't even bother checking it out.
The only way I'm watching this is opinion remain positive once the entire show has aired.

GoT got bad from S5 onward.

If the quality is trash and this start and ends before it hits that timeline and it retains some of quality then it's only win-win. I jumped off GoT once I finished S5, nose dive was too much for me. I'll give this a season to spread its wings at least.

My dream would be for them to return to GOT 15 years later will all the surviving characters making a return. GOT has the greatest cast of characters of any show

I'll watch it, I guess, but I never think about it unless I see discussion like this, and I'm sure in half an hour I'll forget about it again. Looking back, it seems crazy to think I was as deeply invested in this series as I was during the first 4 seasons.

After the clusterfuck of mid/late GoT i got zero expectations of this.
I hope it's good because GoT started out great but then went straight into the shitter.

i have no idea on the material of this though, did GRRM actually finish something? Or was it some other hack who wrote a script based on one of his shortstories?

Season 8 of GOT was horrendous, but it is true if you go back and watch previous seasons, it definitely fell off I’m quality long before it. I mean, it still was great and had amazing episodes, but in retrospect so many things made no sense. Too many to name honestly. But all in all no TV watching experience week to week matched GOT. It was like a weekly event.

I’m down. Hopefully they learn from season 8 and make sure the writing isn’t an absolute dumpster fire. I don’t get the whole “got sucks cast sucks angry” shit. The directors shit out the finally HBO was stuck with it put the blame where it belongs and move forward.
