I thought this thread would be apropos, after seeing that a lot of octogenarians are on these forums.

I love a good nap and really look forward to having one. It does have to be used sparingly though, 30 - 40 mins at the most. Any more and I go too deep and feel groggy afterwards.

I'll get settled down and set my timer on my phone for 30 mins and shut my eyes, bliss!
I need a good nap so I have enough energy to go to sleep at night.

I picked 7-8 because that means atleast one day a week I nap twice and that's some funny ass old man shit there. Reality is some times on weekends I get up real early then do a mid day nap.

Depends on the season. In the summer I'm good since I'm getting lots of exercise. In the winter when I'm sitting on my ass a lot it's very easy to mess my sleep schedule up so I start napping 2-3 times a week.

It varies depending on how much time I've spent outside gardening and other activities. I love the heat and used to be able to jog for miles in Florida summer heat, but now in my 40s? I'll usually need a nap.

I think I cracked the codes as to why I enjoy napping more than sleeping and why it's often easier to fall asleep when napping. When you nap there's no pressure to perform. With sleep you know that the next day rides and dies on how good your sleep is.

You also know that when you wake up you'll be forced to go to work. With a nap you wake up to the rest of the day/evening and can enjoy it.

I try not to because it fucks up my proper sleep because I either can't fall asleep later that evening and wind up with 2 naps as my "rest" or I straight up sleep for 7+ hours and wind up starting my day super early (like 2am) and repeat the process the next day.

At 42, I get sleepy after eating any carb heavy meal, sucks. I want to get back into keto again. I did it for 6 months and felt fucking great, energy and clarity all day. I was eating 30 carbs at most per day. Carbs fucking suck, but they're too damn delicious. I'm 5'11, 170lbs. I'm far from fat, so I know it's my diet + age that makes me sleepy.

Voted for the first option but it's more like 2-3 times a month.
I live close to work and sometimes go home for lunch, when I do so I generally sneak in a 15-20 min nap if I'm feeling tired. But it's not often.

Between 3 and 5 per week or so. Nice naps, 1+ hour and sometimes even 2 hours if not more. I love the bed. :lollipop_content:

I don't nap anymore. I live a very healthy lifestyle that consists of eating healthy food and natural weight lifting, which basically means I never feel tired and feel like I have infinite energy. I also don't drink coffee, because I don't need too.

I do remember a time when I liked (and probably needed) to take naps. It felt good.

Voted never, which is true these days. But before I drastically cut down on carbs/sugar/processed wheat I used to have to nap every day. Haven't got it checked out but I have a feeling I'm somewhat intolerant to one, or all, of the above.

Maybe 1-2 a year. I have two young kids and just don't get the opportunity. I used to love napping, though. Used to do it all the time in college especially. I'd purposely take really early classes, be done with them by 11:30 or so, then head home and immediately take a nap.
