How to use your PS4 controller as a PC controller

A few questions:

1) Can I use this wireless with Windows 7?

2) Do I have to switch my PS4 off or do anything special with it?

1) Yes you can use it wireless with windows 7. I'm currently running it on my computer with a bluetooth dongle.

2) Not fully sure as I don't have a ps4, but my guess would be just hook it up with micro usb cable to resync with your ps4. Or just use the small pin hole on the controller to reset it.

Damn. The touchpad works VERY well, I'm honestly surprised. Tried Civ 5 and it is definitely playable, wow. Thumb might get a little cramped depending on how you use the touchpad, but switching fingers is no problem. It's pretty much like playing on a laptop.

I don't know if I'm missing something, but my one complaint would be that click and drag doesn't work? I'd love to play hearthstone with the ds4 once they add that.

Win7, using this BT adapter. NOTE : this adapter does NOT work with PS3 controllers. Works great with the PS4 controller, but not the PS3 one. Just thought I'd give a heads up about that.

So I just got around to getting my DS4 to stay connected using BT and got it set up as Xinput and that's great. Loving being able to turn the touchpad on though would've liked it in they had left click as clicking in the pad instead of L1.

Only thing that is annoying is that whenever I hold the PS button down to turnt he pad off Steam opens into big picture mode which is something I don't want to happen. Is there a work around for this?

Where can I get one in the UK for 40 quid or so, I really wanted blue one so I held out, nearly pulled the trigger on a black one but by time I decided to it was sold out.

So......

When I use beta 3 it lags the fuck out of my PC when I go to open anything and it especially hates TeamSpeak. Is this normal ?

Works pretty darn well. I can't left-click and drag scrollbars though. That + some general scrolling combination would make for some nice comfy couch web surfing.

Is it possible to play with the DS4 wired, I haven't got a Bluetooth adapter and I'm close to my computer so I don't need wireless.

Yes, it's actually a bit easier to just use USB, my PC has BT but since I'm sitting there I just use a short USB cable plugged into my keyboard.

Turns out I've been playing hearthstone wrong, you actually don't need to click and drag. Plays amazingly with the ds4.

Using beta 3 cant seem to get it working properly on dark souls. It works fine for about 5 mins then the r1/R2 buttons stop working?

So would it be possible to play witcher 2 on a MAC and use the DS4?

Basically: does the ds4 work on a Mac?
Does witcher 2 have game pad support?

OK, I take that back. Definitly have some major issues playing Crysis 3 with that. Spazzes out or it lags massively. Anything known?

OK, this thing isn't working at all. Don't believe the people who claim "oh it's perfect" because it's not. It seems like it's working lag at will and even shitting on my framerate in some games. It's a pretty horrible experience so far. For now it's back to 360 controller. Maybe it's Win 8.1 I don't know.

Thanks for that. Now I just need to know if DS4 will work on a MAC

DS4 works for some games, but not others. I'm after a way to get the DS4 recognised as an xinput device on OS X, as soon as that happens I've found a full time use for my second DS4!

(Anyone got any ideas?)

Still think the 360 controller will be the popular choice. It just works, no fucking around with 3rd party software.

My favorite controller ever. If Sony wants to sell their controller to the pc crowd they should spend some time making it work. I can't believe the cost will be that much compared to possible return. I would definitely buy a PS4 controller if it worked as easily as the wired 360 one.

OK, this is kinda the worst case. It seems like the current solution eats up performance. With the 360 control pad, Rayman Origins just plays fine at 60FPS. With the newest version of the DS4 tool, it goes down to stuttering 5 to 58FPS. There is something very wrong about this thing right now, although I guess it's a good try.

I'm back to the 360 controller and PS4 controller goes back to Amazon until there is a 100% stable and working solution.

Imo it's far from perfect and that there is obviously a performance hint makes me not using at all anymore. Just not worth it, the 360 controller seems like the better solution still.

If I have Steam open, the DS4 is not recognized at all. I remember reading this was a known issue, but is there any workaround for it?

Is there a driver option yet that supports LED setting but doesn't use XInput? I want to play with what color glow I get but XInput is such a shitty solution for some games.

Has anybody gotten this to work with Bioshock Infinite or the Assassins Creed games yet?

It works fine in every game I've tried including Bioshock Infinte. I just tried it out just now to make sure.
Using Rocketfish BT adapter with DS4tool 1.1 Beta 3 no problem.

What games isn't working for you?? I don't see a problem in any of the games I've tried.

I haven't actually tried it with DS4 because of miserable experiences in the past, and they're long enough ago where I can't recall specific games, but at a minimum I want L2/R2 treated as buttons rather than axises and the option to map the D-pad as buttons rather than a hat switch. I'm also not a fan of the whole "convenient" Xinput thing where the bottom button = A in OSD = (often unremappable) confirm; I still instinctively go for the right button when I see A on an OSD and prefer it for confirm.

It's especially visible on older Japanese titles, IIRC, which is bad because those are a big proportion of my controller-on-PC time.

Weird. Have u tried wired?

I'm using same version as u on win7 64bit. Only difference is I'm wired.

Anyone know if or how this works with multiple controllers? I'd like to get either this or multiple Wii U Pro controllers setup but the Wii U controllers are a pain to get working and at the moment you have to use x360ce for each game to get xinput support.

This works perfectly for me over a wire, but sadly whenever I try and pair the controller over Bluetooth, it turns off the second the pairing process starts.

After this occurs, every time I turn it on and it tries to connect to the PC it shuts off instantly.

Confusing!

Could someone tell me what bluetooth adapter they are using and know this works on? I have an asus BT211 adapter and i can't get the DS4 to stay connected to it. It disconnected after a couple seconds.

Still having trouble getting this gamepad to work on Dark Souls. It works in the Windows Live menu just fine but is completely unresponsive in the game itself.

I'm on Windows 8 64 bit and a few others have the same issue. If anyone has any clue on how to solve it drop me a PM please.

Can anyone please post in the PSXC2 forumsa nd ask the dev about performance issues? I witnessed them for Rayman and potentially for other games as well. It's hard to tell if it just drops 4-5 frames but it's a nogo imo.
