I would rate it on a 10 point scale, one that clearly indicates to a reader what my stance/opinion is of the game and how much i would recommend it.

Numbers are a global metric with which we can communicate to one another, so that is why I would opt for a 10pt scale rather than a Graded Alphabet system or anything along those lines.

7 for me. I tried to get into it several times ("It sold so well, it must be a great game, right?") but couldn't. I didn't like the characters. The mission structure meandered all over the place, which is standard Rockstar but amplified by having multiple protagonists. Shooting was the usual Rockstar-wonky. On the plus side, the dialog had occasional wit (when it wasn't being obnoxious), and the driving was fun. But it just didn't draw me in. I didn't feel like spending time in its world - it annoyed me.

I'll get back to you on that after another playthrough. I liked the first playthrough, but I didn't like how several things were just removed from previous games or actually downgraded badly.

I also recall the story not being all that great, something other games such as Mafia and Sleeping Dogs absolutely did better, among other things.

It put an 8 for overall

Single player was a 6. Story wasnt as good as previous games and a lack of stuff to do post completion.

Multiplayer was a 7. Some good game modes, lots of variation for races, death matches and such. The job updates like smuggling and gun running were awesome but unfun to do when every lobby had 3 guys in jets destroying my slow ass bike full of drugs 10 seconds after I exit the lock up.

GTAO Invite only session is an easy 10.
Its single player with TONS of stuff added to it!

Roughly double the amount of vehicles compared to single player, 3 or 4 extra radio stations, the existing stations were all expanded (some was added to sp but not all). QOL updates make the MP charecter have a almost a cheat menu for summoning vehicles now.

Loads of cars are now able to be molded at garages that couldn't be done in SP. My el Camino has a cover over the bed and pinstripes 😍

Honestly Invite only is better than single player and freeroam MP combined imo

I also voted 7 and because of those reasons. I'd like to add that driving to places during missions and having to listening to not-so-very-good dialogue wasn't a big draw for me. I appreciated what it tried to do and it was fun doing stuff for a while in its world, but eventually I just had to stop as it wasn't for me.

I hope the remake of GTA IV comes soon as it always looked more interesting to me.

Heist missions are brilliant for the most part. But there should be more of them. I replayed it a month or two ago and the driving was atrocious. But overall the game and game-play is very fun. Story is interesting but in the ending is best when everyone gets what they want.

It's mechanically very impressive what they build with GTA, but I didn't much care for 4 (except Ballad) or 5 overall. I didn't finish 5.

I preferred RDR2 to GTA 4 or 5, by a lot.

I'd be saying between 6-7/10. It's a reasonably good game but I think in some ways it's a downgrade from GTAVI. It also takes ages to properly get going and by the end I was ready for it to be over. Combat isn't a strong point of the game either which is strange considering they basically perfected third person shooting with Max Payne 3.

Like I said, not a bad game at all but definitely not the best entry in the series.

6/10 Quit playing GTA V after second heist. Everything feels so mundane and (up its own ass) sarcastic. The world feels like a cardboard cut out. The moment you try to interact with anything it all falls apart. The unarmed combat is embarrassingly bad.

I would rate base GTA IV 7/10, The Lost and the Damned 5/10, and Ballad of Gay Tony 9/10.

San Andreas is an 8/10. It would have been 9/10 but the missions from San Fierro until Pilot School are a major drag.

Vice City (PC/Definitive Patched) is a 9/10. It is a bit dated but everything is polished enough to still be enjoyable. Vice City Stories is also very enjoyable albeit not as well rounded (8/10).

Never liked GTA III despite completing it and I would rate it 6/10 too.

I didn't like having to switch between characters, I wasn't able to particularly get invested in any of them as result. I can't even remember their names. But, I remember Niko Bellic and I haven't played GTA4 since it came out

Only the SP: 9/10

Only GTA I've actually finished, really enjoyed it. And it was incredibly impressive on PS3.

The online I don't give a shit about.

A solid 7 out of 10. The story, characters, writing, and overall tone feel like a step down from GTA IV, especially when you factor in the two story-driven DLCs that game had.

Also, I'm one of those people who actually enjoyed the driving in IV, so that plays a role too since you know, the 'auto' part of GTA.

7.5/10. The only GTA (so far) I never had the urge to play again. Gunplay is solid but a step down from Max Payne 3, story is boring. Characters are OK, but having 3 protagonists gets old quite fast, imho. The heists are interesting, but I found the associated metagame elements (hiring a crew etc.) kinda pointless during gameplay. The other missions are typical GTA missions, but some are too long, imho. I miss the Kill Frenzies (Trevor's rampage missions are neat but not enough) and the highscore just for the carnage that you can cause from GTA 2. Oh, and the torture scene was kinda pointless, imho. Felt out of place in the story and made it look like it was just included to have some "shocking" element in the game.

But at least I had enough fun with it that I bothered to finish it, which I can't say about RDR2.

Better than GTA 3 and GTA 4. Not as good as Vice City and San Andreas.
Still a better game than most out there, especially when talking about open worlds (SP only, I don't care about Online).

Not very high, other than the city tech/simulation (that for some thing is inferior to gta4) the game regressed from mp3 in terms of gunplay and they nerfed the euphoria too.

The characters were a mixed bag, franklyn was terrible and the only thing good that came out from his story was some lines from lamar.
Michael was ok but it was a piece of shit, and trevor...well it was trevor.
The plot was really whatever, nowhere near close gta4 or rdr2.

Never gave a fuck about the online neither.

Probably my second least favourite main gta after san andreas.

In terms of single player, it's the GTA game I enjoyed the least. I didn't think the story was good and I didn't particularly like any of the characters.

10/10 for this track alone

One of the best OSTs of all time. Tangerine Dream. Can't wait to see who they brought on for VI.

The game is probably in my top 25.

I only played it once on Ps3, I'd say probably around a 7/10.
Impressive tech for the time and an unparalleled attention to detail that makes it fun to just roam around the world, but the gameplay is nothing special, the mission design is pretty bland and the story is completely unremarkable, though the characters themselves are fun.

I remember being specially disappointed by how hand holdy and restrictive the missions felt.

I imagine the newer versions of the game are probably better, but I've never felt the itch to replay it.
