If this isn't an A, I don't know what is...

I don't think I've ever seen a better, more varied Nintendo presentation in my life... maybe one way back in the day that showed Mario 64 or something.

I was way wrong on how cool Switch 2 will be. Kudos to them.

Took me YEARS to get my Switch, but I will 100% be upgraded by the time Duskbloods is out.

I was impressed. The hardware looks good enough for the kinds of games that Nintendo makes, which was the most important thing for me. Better clarity and performance were the big things I wanted.

The games were... alright. Mario Kart looks good, Duskbloods looks awesome (assuming it's not just a multiplayer game, obviously), and a couple of the re-releases looked great. But there wasn't anything new from Nintendo that was like "oh SHIT I have to get that." They were just focused on stuff launching really close to the system's debut, so I suspect there's more on the way. But promising overall, and I'm really just glad that there might be a console I like again.

Giving it a B.

C. hardware was underwhelming, poor pacing, alot of old titles shown. duskblood being extraction and exclusive is weird af, prolly fun tho. donkey kong looked lit. oh ya mario kart looks good too.

I would say B because they spent more than an acceptable amount of time on gimmicks like the camera features.

What was really bad is the audio sync, why wasn't there a sync? it's the second time it happened to them, so not sure why they couldn't get their shit together for it.

Complicated. While I will get several of the games mentioned, which is the purpose of this direct, I feel like this was a very weak direct for hyping up the nintendo switch 2. It was pretty much hey get this first party game that was released a while back but now with prettier graphics and now buy these third party games that have already been released everywhere else. I'm not sure if the mario kart alone is strong enough to pull in the casuals for massive switch 2 console sales.

I think they could have mostly kept the same content but had a better result if they fixed the pacing.

First party wise they have a good cadence for 2025 hardware wise they did things that matched the rumours but people didn't believe.

The two main issues I see are the software pricing and Japanese third party support. 2nd issue can be fixed with more announcements but the first will be annoying all generation.

Very good.

Lots of games that interest me. Hardware looks good and I like the connectivity and game sharing features - they're a big win for playing with family without everyone having to buy a copy of the game.

Solid.

Duskbloods + Mario Kart World + DK Bonanza = GAME OVER PlayStation + PC + Xbox

Yep, Steam (PC) is dead because of Nintendo. I just can't wait to pay $80 for games that have PS4 graphics when i can pay half that for AAA games on PC. I enjoy the occasional Nintnedo game but wow is this a bad take.

It's not the worst but only thing interesting are the new Hyrule Warriors and Donkey Kong game and neither one are really that amazing just good.

Would have been a B or even a A had they show a completely new Zelda with a better art style and a FFIX Remake.

I think they have enough momentum that for the holiday season and beyond it will sell no matter what. Perhaps they are really downplaying anything big at the moment because they can save it for later and keep that momentum going. Mario Kart is going to be huge on its own. That should be the 1 for 1 for them and with mulitplayer it should have legs of course.
Perhaps arrogant Nintendo? LOL!!!

C, very mixed bag. I'm sure the console will be a lot of fun when it's out, and while it's cool to see third parties on it, performance looked truly awful on some of them (Hitman). Major early 2010s Microsoft vibes throughout this direct with the camera/video chat and mouse stuff. Really gimmicky and left a bad taste in my mouth. Looking forward to June though

The Direct itself was fine. It's the information that came afterwards that I have issues with.

I am 38 I make alot of money I have no kids I don't care that Mario Kart is $90, but I do understand the frustration most people have right now.

Cringe worthy live actor scenes. I have no interest in Mario Kart but it looks cool i guess. 2017 since a 3d Mario and Mario was nowhere in sight.....odd and disappointing. Donkey Kong Bonanza looks cool, and that new FromSoft game looks awesome, but we wont see that until 2026. They're adding Gamecube games to the Online deal, ok, but only 3-4 games at launch.....yikes.

Release date is great but why no price reveal? Corny to hold back on that if youre trying to make people excited to preorder. The dock being 4K and HDR capable is great for me, probably the highlight of the whole thing for me tbh since i only will ever play it docked. Nintendo 1st Party games in 4K HDR alone will be worth it for me, and should look amazing on my OLED.

As of now, nothing i saw today is making me want to make sure i'm there on day one.

It was a huge waste of time with all the 3rd party slop, chat nonsense and lack of interesting 1st party stuff. Overall still promising if they get their shit together. Why was there not more stuff ready with all these fucking years?

I'd say C considering the price was excluded from the direct. Good 1st party shown, but like other directs they agonize over trivial stuff wasting time. Include the price then it's an F (for Canada particularly).

My expectations were low, and somehow I was still underwhelmed. You can hardly tell the difference with current Switch.

I'm watching the Direct now. I am at the 17:00 mark when they show off the Switch 2's specs. So I'm holding off on rating it yet...

I will eat crow. I'm a man of my word. I have spanked Nintendo a lot over the Switch generation.

I wanted better specs for Switch 2. I got them. Nintendo stepped up their game. 1080p resolution, 4K support, 60fps and 120fps support, HDR support, select Backwards Compatibility, headphone port, external camera, magnetic JoyCons, bigger SL/SR buttons, bigger thumbsticks, new C button functionality, 2 USB-C ports...

I am very impressed. Nintendo has iterated on the Switch in all the right ways, at least on paper given what they're showing. Thank you, Nintendo. It is nice to see you move forward into the present in the technical ways that I wished for. I only know one other game that will be shown for the rest of the Direct, but on hardware alone I am very much interested in adopting on day one with Mario Kart World so far. I understand that "select" titles will use a lot of those features, but I am willing to see how that plays out. I am optimistic about Switch 2, and cannot be sour on it.

( I reallyyy hope they show a new Mario game...)

I think it was a C. They gave no price, and left all the real details to dig through their website. I don't think they really showed off a system seller. The Audio being totally out of sync I think in on NOA. Too much time spent on 3rd party stuff. Good things shown were the console overview, release date and Mario Kart and DK game.

Completely disappointing.
Nothing had wow factor. Many games look like they could run (and do run) on the original switch.
No flagship Mario game.
Not a single surprise reveal

Anyone that voted higher than E has cery low standards.
It's a good jump hardware over over Switch with much better third party support and a solid amount of Nintendo titles in its first 6 months.

Definitely some issues but I think a C is fair.

B for me.

The launch window line-up is looking good but damn the news about pricing. Definitely not looking forward to $80 games

It was an A until the big reveal ended up being a surprisingly weak-looking DK game. It barely even looks like a DK game. And that's from the Odyssey team, it just looks so much like Odyssey it kinda hurts, honestly.

The specs seem great. 120fps and a 1080p screen surprises me. But it's great to see. Certainly a generational leap compared to Switch, so I'm happy with the console itself.

The launch window lineup honestly is pretty weak, from a first-party perspective. Unless you really like GameCube and Kirby. I'm not spending $80 on Mario Kart. God how did anyone at Nintendo think that was gonna be well-received. Yikes!

And then they didn't show the price. I had to go looking online for it. That was really weird.

What do you give a direct that is pretty much what I expected? That is what I give it. Like Nintendo gives me, no more, not less.

Awesome, but no Mario or Zelda so not perfect.

Analog stick movement + mouse aiming in Metroid Prime got me to scream.
And dual mouse controls with rotation registered lol awesome!
In general the mouse functionality was the real highlight for me, especially since third party seem to use it going by Civilization and Borderlands, just brilliant to combine it with analog stick movements, I want that on PC now!

Only downsides were the storage size, C-button just being some online chat crap with game streaming running at what looked like 5fps, and as said no Mario or Zelda.
