Humble Nintendo Indie Bundle for the Americas

"All America... Except Brazil"

Nintendo really hates Brazil, I wonder why. Microsoft thrives here, and Sony is probably doing well... Nintendo simply don't care.

It probably has something to do with the tariff charges that Brazil imposes on everything that is preventing this from happening.

I opened the tab as soon as I saw the thread and I'm sitting on 5.81 on BTA. Thinking of doing it just in case we get Mighty Switch Force 2 in there or something.
Just a damn shame I already have most of these indie games on steam.

I need Japanese :( I hope this trend will turn.

This isn't hwat humble should be about

How is it not what Humble Bundle is about? It's bundles of games sold at a cheap price with some proceeds going to charity. Sound pretty humble bundly. NOE as well as NOJ would have to play ball as well since they are completely separate companies. The eshop is already region locked in the first place, NOA wanted to setup something nice and there's nothing they can do if NOE or NOJ decide they don't want to do it. It's nice that this at least exists in some form than none at all, who knows NOE will probably pick up on it and want to do it to.

So how are the 3DS version of all these games? Good? No loss of quality (ala Shovel Knight) or are there versions of these I should only pick up on console? Then again I'm not even sure I have enough room on my SD card LOL

I really like SteamWorld Dig, bought on 3DS and got PS+ version so I can't be brought to buy it again.

Didn't care for the Switch Force games in general but it is the original so it has quality.

Yeah I know. I'm just baffled that
1. They couldn't get NoA and NoE to communicate and both participate in this and
2. Still decided to go ahead despite the region locking

This isn't hwat humble should be about and I'm really disappointed

Isn't money to charity what Humble is about?

Isn't Brazil a PAL country basically? Or am I remembering this wrong?

In the fat screen days brazil had a "pal-m" territory which was a crazy mix of ntsc and pal.
That had to do more with 60htz than actual region coding.

We count as Americas for pretty much everything except eshop. Which we had our separate entry (3ds eshop and no wiiu eshop) for a while before nintendo oficialy left the country

Thanks for the heads up. I put on $10, which is more than the average, so does that mean I get the "more than average" games that aren't announced if the average gets more than $10 (it was $8.88 when I ordered).

it aint that. Brazil has their own eshop, thus separated región. rest of SA acts as NA

still dont know any brazilian who didnt register their 3ds as NA tho

Actually, Brazil does not have a Wii U eShop, but has a 3DS one (idk why, probably has to do with banks blocking international purchases in Reais in 2012 – which had some conversion tax, thus not really as a national purchase... or something. Since the 3DS eShop opened before the block, Nintendo probably left it open, but decided not to open the Wii U one... or do what Sony and Microsoft did to prevent such issue). IIRC, I can activate codes bought on nintendo.com on my 3DS (which has a Brazilian NNID), so I wonder if 3DS Humble Bundle codes can't really be activated in a Brazilian 3DS NNID... I'll test it later.

And about Brazilians with Wii U, since you can have multiple users, just create a Canadian NNID and buy/activate there, hue

Hey guys. I plan on getting all of the games in this bundle, but I already have Mighty Switch Force and Stealth Inc 2. Is there a thread or something where I can trade them or give them away?

oh, I actually don't own Moon Chronicles

but I did play it on regular DS

might wait in hopes BTA drops since I already own everything else on multiple systems, but I wanna support this hard

This. How is this usually handled?

Humble hasn't been primarily about that for a while now.

Whatever. Enjoy your games Americas

Huh? Every purchase on the Humble store has a percentage go to charity, and every bundle has it's charity listed (this one is for Code.Org), and you can choose to give your entire purchase to charity.

Yes you will get the extra games.

This is a pretty big deal regardless of the region locking.

I own most of these game already and I don't have a 3ds so I think I will sit out, but it's a damn impressive list and it is a great test case for Nintendo to see how fans respond to these kinds of sales.

I think too many of you are focusing too much on the region lock. It sucks we get it, but the mere fact even one arm of Nintendo can make this kind of deal shows that they are paying attention to what people in the west value and that's a great sign going forward.

Does this discussion occur every time there is a region specific sale/promo on digital stores?

No? Ok, just checking.

Yeah this is weird. There have been plenty of sales on PSN that were EU exclusive but I've never been one to be particularly upset about it. I feel if people wait or POLITELY forward their concerns to Nintendo we could see this open up to EU as well.

Region locking EVEN in a humble bundle *sigh*

I would have bought this, but because I live in the wrong country I can't. Nintendo need to fucking stop with this region locking nonsense. It is absurd.

I think this nindies humble bundle means my Wii U will finally need an external hard drive. Any suggestions that work w/ a Y cable?

The region lock sucks indeed, but still, it's pretty great that Nintendo is doing this. And quite surprising that it's Nintendo that did it first from the console platform holders.

It'll also be interesting to see how many copies the bundle will sell. Not that it tells that much though, as there are so many factors in effect, but still.

Ooooh ninty! Y U NO LOV UROP!!?

Nice though. Perhaps we will eventually get this.. While I'm waiting, I'm off to watch this weeks episode of "crazy about you" on the telly! Thinking of renting predator 2 VHS I heard it was good!

I have all the games listed but it's really cool to see this happen on consoles. The Crossbuy actually working with this is even more awesome.

I may pick this up for a 3DS version of Guacamelee...

Only America is a stupid decision :\

All of those games are available on the European eShop as well, so why they're not able to give out PAL codes I do not understand.

Isn't Brazil a PAL country basically? Or am I remembering this wrong?

Yes, it is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NTSC#PAL-M_.28Brazil.29

But if I also remember correctly, Nintendo stop selling consoles locally some time ago.

IMO, basically MS is 1st here because it has better prices, since the 360 and One are both locally assembled... Sony is 2nd mostly because of the brand, and Nintendo simply don't care, usually a WiiU costs more money than a Xbox One.
