Humble Nintendo Indie Bundle for the Americas

As a 3DS owner who already bought Mighty Switch Force and Steamworld Dig, I can't justify paying $10 to hit get OlliOlli + Moon Chronicles. I'll just snag Woah Dave for a buck (which was what it was going for on sale). Still, happy to see Nintendo doing this.

Gee, I wonder which continent you live on. The annoying thing is they've tied up a whole fortnight's Humble Bundle to one region when we usually all get something good. Thanks, Nintendo.

Yeah, now you're stuck with just the three other bundles running right now. Poor things.

I'm giving away my Woah Dave! 3DS code. I have no interest in it. Quote to see the code and please quote once you've redeemed it.

Reached the 25k$ threshold OMGEEEEE

Duno what's the usual for Humble Bundles as it's my first lol

I wonder how much it will sell compared to other bundles. The potential audience is a lot smaller compared to a regular PC bundle. This is only one region on a handheld and an unsuccessful console.

And yeah, most of this thread will be about the region lock and as a european I'm also a bit salty about this. I wish those who are able to buy this fun with it. The selection of games is definitely good.

This is so damn great! I am pretty tight on money right now so I couldn't get all the games, but I just wanted to try and support this as much as I could.

spent 10$ decided to support this not often Nintendo is involved with stuff like this hope it happens more often, and world wide.
Knowing Nintendo they probably have like 15 games for 10$ deal planned up for only Europe.. don't pretend u guys forgotten the awesome game selection u got for Mario Kart compared to NA

Why do they mention South America? AFAIK no South American country has access to the eShop.
They pretty much all use the Canadian shop for ease of foreign credit cards, though the new exchange rate might lower the savings a bit.

no one in their right mind registers their 3DS for their own south american country

I gather 2 things, either:

1) Nintendo knows everyone puts Florida (no taxes) or Canada (international CCs work)

2) If you do in fact register it to your own south american country you do get access to the eShop; there's just nothing in it. Means you can still go to the "redeem code" menu.

still kickin myself about going with FL, but my debit card wouldnt work on the canadian store either for some reason, so..

How many console humble bundles do you see!

But this is a humble bundle first and foremost, being on a console is irrelevant.

If MS and Sony does another and is regionlocked, that will be a different deal. Until then, the fact that none other Humble Bundle have been region locked takes priority here.

Some questions

1)This HB will last two weeks. How many hours/days/weeks a random HB last, normally?
2)Do we have any idea about the best selling Humble Bundles in the recent past?

Hey, NA =! US. I don't get why Americans seem to think they are the only country in North America.
Lol I mention that all the time, but unfortunately Canada doesn't exist when it comes to North America as far as the rest of the world is concerned.

Actually, Brazil does not have a Wii U eShop, but has a 3DS one (idk why, probably has to do with banks blocking international purchases in Reais in 2012 – which had some conversion tax, thus not really as a national purchase... or something. Since the 3DS eShop opened before the block, Nintendo probably left it open, but decided not to open the Wii U one... or do what Sony and Microsoft did to prevent such issue). IIRC, I can activate codes bought on nintendo.com on my 3DS (which has a Brazilian NNID), so I wonder if 3DS Humble Bundle codes can't really be activated in a Brazilian 3DS NNID... I'll test it later.

And about Brazilians with Wii U, since you can have multiple users, just create a Canadian NNID and buy/activate there, hue

That is actualy pretty interesting ....

You should write them an angry email.

I love the "just hit a switch and turn off region locking" posts. No, region locking isn't cool. But these systems are pretty well cured by now. It's gonna take time to undo them, if they are.

Having said this, this is a pretty awesome bundle for those that can get it.

You know what, I hope we in Europe get Xenoblade Chronicles X a year before America gets it.

As a revenge for all the shit America keeps getting before us or get at all when we don't.

1) Featured ones last 2 weeks
2) Not sure, but maybe the origin one or the THQ one, if I don't misremember the THQ one did 5 million or so.

Interesting indeed! Gonna tell this to my cousin that has a Brazilian NNID.

(Hey Berna, it's Arkhanor from STS! Hahaha!)

It's not first region locked bundle thought. I believe SEGA bundle wasn't available in Asia.

But definitely biggest region lock thought.

At least there were methods to bypass

All of the consoles have region locked digital marketplaces, mainly due to different regulatory boards.

That's not true, Xbox One is region free

I could swear I see PSN sales limited to a region all the time. Strange, maybe I'm imagining things.

This isn't a sale, its a humble bundle

Of course it's not irrelevant. A humble bundle is a digital store sale, console digital stores are region locked, ergo making a humble bundle for all regions implies getting different codes for different regions from the publishers and it's also riskier for said publishers due to currency issues.

The fact that a site like humble bundle offers these sales in a pack doesn't change the fact that they're sales tied to a digital store and all console digital stores are locked, which is why Sony, Nintendo and MS (I think) have separate sales for each region. It's a console digital store sale, plain and simple, the fact that it's wrapped as a bundle doesn't change that.

Uh what? How so? I have one each of a USA, EU and JPN PSN account that I use to get things depending on their release date.

I abhor region locking, but hush you. You get the fancy N3DS with faceplates :P

Credit where credit is due, this is probably the biggest piece of anti-marketing I've ever seen. I'll buy a Wii U when hell freezes over, and even then I'd have to think twice.

Nintendo owners be thirsty. Nearly 45K sales in under an hour.

Woah, that's super neat! It's really cool that they got this to be a thing, even if the region-exclusivity is unfortunate. I can only imagine it's a pretty inevitable thing for a console-based Humble Bundle, though.
