Since taking over from Mattrick over the last couple of years I'm down for this ride.
Today with the news I thought I'd never here with Live being opened up to cross play to all platforms.

And after listing to his Keynote on Xbox One following the iPad style model with new iterations releasing more regularly and full forwards compatibility so you never lose your library.

I'm not meaning to gush but it's clear there has been a change at Xbox with him, well done Phil.

I hope this thread is taken in the light hearted / a little tongue in cheek way its intended

Lol I honestly had same thought . I said to myself "damn good job Phil & Nadella, damn good job..." when I read about cross platform.

He's had a positive impact on the XBox without a doubt, but this impact is magnified due to the failings of previous leadership. A lot of this stuff should've happened years ago. They started resting on their laurels around the time of Kinect

Is this meant to be a serious post or a comedic one? I can't tell. Similar to the Lionhead Studios closing thread, where some seemed to be tripping over themselves to absolve fault from Spencer and instead pin it on Mattrick, even though Spencer was head of Microsoft Studios lol.

Anyway, good move regarding cross play, but I think Spencer has proven he's far from being squeaky clean. Then again, that might not all be entirely his fault (especially with respect to PR double speak). He seems like a decent enough guy though, and far better than his predecessor.

We can prove he does exist.

The man is not just a myth or a legend.
Have you ever seen a Phil Spencer? As a pure Empiricist, I cannot accept his existence on mere hearsay.
We could of course simply use an ontological argument, but that is just not good enough for me .

Got mew to care enough to want to check out an xbox system for the first time since the original Xbox (I did get the 360 a bit after launch, but got rid of it after going through 4 red rings), so I'd say he's doing something right running the company atleast. What they were planning before him for the Xbox One sounded terrible, but the system I bought and have played since November has been pretty great so far

Look at this heathen! *throws raw eggs*

I'm a very big fan of the announcements Microsoft has made in the past couple months, even if those announcements are basically telling me to sell my Xbox, as it continues to lose reasons to exist while I have a good PC.

"So you never use your library"?

Doesn't GAF already do this with their games? That's why backlogs are a thing.
