I don't understand why more people don't order their groceries online and have it delivered

I mostly eat the same food every month, you get automatic sales selection, you can repeat orders in a click and best of all it only cost 1$ for them to prepare the order. It's like better than amazon prime IMO.

I do "click and collect" sometimes but I don't mind shopping. I eat what's on offer rather than the same stuff all the time so I'd be forever changing the online order, also they substitute stuff but I'd rather change my mind and get something else at that point.

Yeah we have the options to substitute or not here, and you have a virtual flyer for sales which I add a few items if I deem them good enough. I'm not a fan of processed stuff anymore.

not inclined to entrust someone else to pick my fruits and vegetables
I buy frozen fruits and vegies as I live alone and I lose lots of food to spoilage. I bought a vaccum kit to prolong the freshness taste but it doesn't seem to do much. On my local grocery store website, you can rate the items freshness and complain online, I got a refund once for a bad cucumber that was mushy.

I have several shops within walking distance from my house. I can just go there, buy my shit and go home.

I always get my shopping delivered. I use a combination of Asda and Iceland, depending on offers. Iceland does some really good offers that are only available online.

I like to mix it up and not have the same thing over and over. I think I'd fall into a pattern of getting similar things if I was just ordering online. Whereas if I'm physically in the shop I might spot something new I want to try using.

As someone else mentioned, I want to pick out meat, fruits and vegetables that are fresh and the best size rather than just picking what's just at the front.

I've also heard about people getting odd substitutes for items that weren't in stock. I realise you can turn off substitutes but if something isn't available I'd rather plan around it there and then.

I've started ordering groceries to my home as well. It's super easy, barely an inconvenience and saves a lot of time.

Still I find walking or riding a bike to a store a nice change of pace if I get stuck inside too much.

I dont like doing groceries but Ive never ordered online. I live alone too but dont buy much so I feel its not worth it.

I mostly do. Mid-week, late night deliveries are only $0.95 which I'd blow in gas even if my grocery store is less than five minutes away. My Kroger subsidiary also has wonderful chat support and will automatically correct pricing issues though those happen a little too often for my liking.

No matter in which direction I go I have a supermarket at most 5 minutes away on foot and the nearest one is only 2 minutes away. I also don't really know people who order groceries online. It's not that common here.

I had a flyer through the door from Farm foods which is a similar type of frozen place and they were selling some brand names much cheaper than my local Tesco/Sainsbury's

Yeah, I get flyers from them fairly regularly. Never actually been to Farmfoods, but they have a store five minutes from where I work, so I may have to pop in sometime.

Iceland have exclusive stuff, which is also another reason I shop there. I got a great deal last month from them - 24 pack of Pepsi Max for £2.40.

Finally an appropriate name change.

You take the trouble to carefully select your shop pay for it and when it turns up they miss items due out of stock or other nonsense

You can't pick up milfs ordering groceries online would be the reason. Protip go for the ones in gym attire or full face of makeup mid-day during the week, I mean if your into that but I'm not. I like cawk.

I don't order groceries online because nowhere delivers where I live...

I guess Amazon grocery is a thing, but it's only pre-packaged stuff and usually MUCH more expensive than the local shop.

Walmart's app has better prices than if you go in store, so I get all of my food and Blu-rays from there, but meats, produce, and dairy is such a moving target that I will go into Kroger and pick those up.

I don't substitute items anymore though because the last time I ordered a pizza kit and they gave me Swiss Cake Rolls. Sure both are good, but they are not that similar.

I don't have such a hysterically stressful schedule that I don't have time for grocery shopping. There's also something enjoyable about looking for some new stuff or maybe spices I haven't paid attention to before. Each to his own. It's also much more expensive in my country.

I have Grocery store PTSD so online ordering has significantly improved my quality of life

Its easy to ask/find out when certain perishable things are stocked every month so you can order when its the freshest
and research when they go on sale for the best deals (this is a must since I use whole foods aka whole paycheck)

I get fresh fruit, veggies dairy and meat delivered right from a local farm from time to time as well

Amazon Fresh is suppose to open a store down the street from me soon I can't wait!

My place is difficult to locate, which is kind of a good thing, until there is a Switch 2 in your bag of groceries.

Tell me you never buy fresh produce without telling me you never buy fresh produce.

It's also more expensive online. Lot of store also implement minimum spend;

l don't live in Quebec with hot women in designer clothes, but Ontario where fat women wear wal-mart sweaters with a wolf on them.

This is the reason. They pick the shittest dates and throw the stuff in like it's airport luggage. Got food delivered one time and it was a disgrace so never again, I like to pick my items and now with the little hand scanners you can be in and out of the shop in 30 minutes max.

also healthy option, because require to move by legs : ))
same here bud, my work is near the central of best culinary location in my city, so i can choose all range of options, only require walk. and i cannot ordering online because they are all mostly under 500m from my place

I ordered grocery delivery last night, and for the first time, there was an option to tip defaulted to 10%. There was never a tip option before.

What % is proper? I kind of think it's bs.

I always do, saves you a lot of time and money. But hey, I don't expect people to make good decisions in their lives.

Try a different grocery store chain or make sure you are using the inhouse delivery instead of Instacart. Kroger has no option to tip and while it's been a while, Safeway didn't the last time I used them for delivery.

I'd rather go out and see the world than order shit through my screen. I've never understood the 'hassle' of shopping for groceries. You put it in a basket, pay and go home.

In Mexico, Rappi is great. You can order anything and - at least in urban areas - the delivery is quite fast. Give a nice tip and add that you want fresh vegetables and you're good to go. Yes, mistakes happen, but the support refunds you quite generous.

Because I like to pick out my own fruit, veg and meat. I like to get the best quality produce and I can only do that by going to the store.

The prices are inflated online versus what you would pay in person. It's hit or miss even when you select other replacement options.

It's a good idea especially for people that aren't as mobile but it's expensive

I buy groceries every day. Not everything, just almost every day a few bits here and there. Its calming.

I have a friend who does this because of social anxiety. I can sorta see that, but honestly though, ordering online feels a tad lazy to me. Just get out there and get your steps in.

When I tried it the people didn't bring me what I ordered. They brought me what they felt like picking up because apparently they hate their job. Then I had to take half of it back and buy groceries anyway.

Delivery isn't super cheap in my country (plus the couriers still expect tips), someone has to be at home to pick it up, but the main issue is that you often don't get exactly what you ordered. So the order is either lacking or the store picks you a (more expensive) replacement. Plus with fruits & vegetables I want to hand-pick them, because their quality can be all over the place.

I learned to make smaller purchases once every 2 days so I don't have to carry or store a lot of groceries. Never going back to buying a shit ton of products once a week.
