I Visited India So You Don't Have To ( And offended 1 billion people ) (Youtube video)

GAF's very own treasure goblin
Not surprised, I've been there a couple of times for business and TBH, alot of it smells like an open sewer.
From the comments:
"Indians love India so much they all immigrated to Canada, UK & the US to talk about how great India is" 😄

I've also been there for work and I'm never going back.
It smells like shit everywhere, the constant honking and dogs barking drives you nuts and everything is covered in dust.

At least the people are welcoming and very nice (Those who don't try to scam you).

Everytime I stepped out of my hotel it felt like I just spawned and a bunch of NPCs were harassing me with side quests.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
He caught not one, but two people taking a dump on the side of the train tracks.

Yeah Western Washington, because of tech, has a large and growing Indian population. One thing I don't understand is how they could let the Ganges River get so polluted and appear not to care about cleaning it up. Maybe some of them should stop going into tech and go into civil engineering to clean up some of these trouble areas.

Always hard to tell where the tourism begins and the "content" ends with these types of channels. Generally I trust it less if you're doing it for money rather than to actually explore.
If you’re seeing it these days it’s all monetized one way or another.

Most travel vlogs are artificially positive to the extreme because people are living vicariously through the content or trying to justify a large expenditure. You’ll never see most vloggers say the food is bad or the experience wasn’t worth the price.

A lot of people also enjoy living vicariously through edgy travel vlogs to dangerous places. Most of that is basically fake too, with the vloggers narrating the idea of danger constantly in a totally benign situation, often in broad daylight in a secure area, maybe even with a paid guide escorting them. That’s not danger.

Bald does that kind of talk facetiously a lot, but has pulled some legitimately wild stunts like when he was arrested for trespassing at a space facility in Kazakhstan. He’s more authentic than most.

I used to watch a lot of Karl Rock’s videos. He’s a New Zealand guy living in Delhi with his Indian wife. He was blacklisted by the Indian government for a few years after he travelled to Pakistan.

My wife went to Madras for work, got poisoned by the food, then got an overdose antibiotics from an Indian doctor that the hotel rang up, and now she has tinnitus for life.

She is not going back there, had a quite horrible experience all around even without the health risk.

Exposing the sinister cartel of retailers who allow companies to pay for advertising space.
There are thousands of responses under Bald's video on India and so many of them are from westerners about their own bad experiences in India. But it's nothing compared to the tens of thousands of responses on this video from the guy behind "Best Ever Food Review Show" on his experiences in Egypt. The bad press it generated made the Egyptian government change its policy towards street photography.

But more lenient rules towards photography isn't going to help a lot. The real problem is how Egyptians see western tourists: as plums ripe for the picking and nothing else. The rude, offensive behavior from the locals towards tourists is what turned many a dream vacation in such an awful experience that many people will never ever want to visit Egypt ever again.

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
Baldy is also a PUA and possibly a sex tourist:

I used to watch every single video of his YouTube channel. Now the vibe is a bit meh, however.

Imagine writting a fucking thesis about how some bald guy decides to spend his money or where does he puts his penis into.

I don't get it, the way I see things there's nothing wrong with paying for sex.

You see it a lot. I was at Golconda Fort and people would walk down into small valleys in a courtyard and dump in the grass instead of walking to the (admittedly gross) restroom facilities. Men and women.

Once I was staying at an Indian brand hotel called Lemon Tree in Hitec City and there was a huge boulder across the street in a vacant lot. From the top floor of the hotel you could see people step off the sidewalk and just go pee on the rock, zip up, and continue on their way. It was like watching a sport or something. Once when I was leaving the Phoenix Avance to walk to my hotel complex I learned that someone had dumped inside a hole in the sidewalk overnight and it reeked like crazy.

Part of the issue is that there just aren't many hygienic, well-maintained public restroom facilities. When you plan a day out you have to plan around where facilities may be. And even if you do find something in working order it is often just a hole in the floor with a bucket of water, so you would rather just find a rock. If there's a good restaurant around you can usually find a decent restroom.

The problem is that a lot of the people you're paying to have sex with have been trafficked and they aren't doing it consensually. They're often forced into it. That's why sex tourism is frowned upon. It's not always consenting adults.

India is a fascinating place, but its not for the casual tourist. Sure, you can stay at the poshest hotel in New Delhi, get a private car to the Taj Mahal, reservations at the fanciest restaurant, and insulate yourself from "India" but even that only works so far.

Very little can prepare you for seeing the vastness of the poverty there.

I wouldn't recommend it to everyone, but if you are interested in seeing how more people live in this world than not...and travel to broaden your experience and perspective (rather than pay lip service to it, while sipping a coffee in a Paris bistro), then go. It will be an adventure.

This one just came up on Reddit, coincidentally. The comments are something else. Blame tourists for having horrible experiences. You should know not to do xyz. It should be obvious. Well, it's not obvious to people from the developed world that if you ingest the wrong thing someone's selling then blood will explode out of your body for three days straight and health care workers at the hospital will not have any idea what they're doing.

Not been to Asia but I have been to Africa, and everywhere from big cities with sky scrapers to corrugated iron shack, side of the road villages had Coca Cola products for sale. I would not have drank any street milk I saw but I did drink a lot of grape Fanta and my ass was thankfully blood free.

True. I have eaten a lot of freshly made food in Africa and the developing world and didn't have any notable digestive problems, but I don't have a manbun so that might help with blood flow to the brain for making the right choices.

I driving out of Nairobi and you could see people growing vegetables on the central reservations of the busy polluted roads. I doubt those make it to the tourist hotel plates but you never know.

Edit I can't find it on street view now but it was a long time ago, back when the American Embassy was rebuilt due to a certain Bin Laden.

I do feel sorry for the people in India for sure. Their government and those in power of law are corrupt af

But that being said so much jobs in the UK (not sure if anywhere else is?) is being sent there because they're so cheap labour. But they're also terrible at the job (in my case) and they don't care cause they're so cheap in comparison to us.

When I briefly worked for a major insurance company they had clocks up on the walls, not just in GMT but also what the time was in Pune because they had offshored so much of their workforce.

Not a big traveller. Did Hong Kong one time and ate at greasy spoon looking restaurants which look like nobody has cleaned it in a month. Did some outside street food stuff where cooks are stir frying shit in pans and you can see plastic bins of dishes. Who the fuck knows how clean the cooking station is or my white dish. But I survived.

Great place. If any of you have never been to Hong Kong, go. Then again I dont know how much it's changed from those protests and covid, since I went 10 years ago. But it was fun. Great food, everything is open late and people are super friendly.

And no tipping either. I tried to dump off some giant coins weighing down my pockets off on an old lady working a store and she didnt want it and put it back in my hand. If this was Canada, every asshole working a store or restaurant would be looking for tips. I tipped a taxi drive $10 HK for a short ride. That was like $1.50 CDN. He thanked me with a smile. When I got home, I took a taxi home and tipped the guy $10. He didn't even help me with my bags. The jackass just popped the trunk. For you gaffers who dont work in tip countries, thats the entitlement you get from scummy service workers here.

On the weekend I went bowling with a buddy. Bought some food at the snack bar and the credit card terminal popped up that annoying tip screen with preloaded rates. Here's your tip. $0.00.

As I told my old manager, who had to outsource us (he had no say in the matter as orders came from on high) you get what you pay for...and sure enough incompetence reigned supreme..

A guy who went to India with me for work kept getting lassi and fruit juice from street vendors. Made right there with dirty instruments and dust in the air and flies buzzing all over. I tried to warn him, but he wouldn't listen. He ended up with the worst case of the trots I've ever seen a human contract. He was strapped to the toilet in his room for nearly a week out of a 3 week trip and that's with taking the meds that we foreigner should take with us for that very situation.

I really do hope India improves given the recent corporate shifts from China. I mean, I didn't have a problem with most chinese people and wish their situation would improve too, but the government just isn't good for business.

I'm interested to see their level of quality control, although nothing will beat Japanese manufacturing. All my old electronics still work damn good 30 years later

Well they've had 76 years since Britain left. We're told that was a good thing. 76 years later, they all want into Britain 🤷‍♂️

Funny old world.

Britain took their money; most of their resources, their historical valuables and artitifacts(which Britain still has most of), instituted a caste system that crippled the economical potential of millions of residents, directly or indirectly caused famines that killed over 30 million people, and instituted regimes and governance that directly or indirectly killed hundreds of millions(via massacre, civil wars etc) and you are blaming them for looking to Britain for recompense?

It takes way more than 76 years to recover from something like that. WAY more.

Sorry, but if literally any of the stuff in that post is truth then hes a POS, and I only skimmed through it. Threatening to leave a girl stranded in the middle of nowhere if she didn't blow him? Thats not just "paying for sex". Thats a POS/sex pest behavior, no different than what Diddy is getting got for as we speak.

Again, not sure whats true or whats not so make your own judgement call i guess. But as for me, stories like that don't tend circle around the same people for absolutely no reason, and thats well and truly beyond "boys will be boys" rhetoric for my taste.

Yeah, don't worry bud, I pay for them out of my taxes for something my family was never involved in for a country I'd rather cut my balls off than visit 👍

And from looking around, they're not doing too bad in the UK these days :messenger_ok:

Really?

Sounds like a bunch of self pitying excuses to me.

I mean, it only took Europe 10-15yrs to recover from the devastation of WWII.

India has some amazing places and people, but so much of it is shit - quite literally even.

And even if you do find something in working order it is often just a hole in the floor with a bucket of water, so you would rather just find a rock.
Can't vouch for the validity, the salesman I was buying a car through recently was telling me a story about a fellow from India he interacted with. Basically this Indian guy was living in a "friends" trailer and paying rent for it. The toilet in it was basically a hole in the floor. It's apparently a common way of doing things in India. So, the salesman set this guy up in a better home (with actual plumbing) for less rent than his "friend" was ripping him off for. Seems the guy had no clue the difference between the standards of India and Canada.

China under Mao, the famine and turmoil and look at it now. It's not exactly perfect, nor would I want the West to be like China, but it's almost a world apart from India.

My family (grandparents on my fathers side and his kids) moved to the UK in the 70s with NOTHING, no work, no house to call their own, barely any English and they had 6 kids to feed

Now my family is typically more successful than the native Brits. Business and property owners with plenty of assets and savings. This is typical for the Sikh population in the UK.

India is just filled with corruption and Government after Government has failed to unify the country and bring about opportunity to uplift the poor. Instead it's just filled with corruption and more greed than the West.

It's going to get worse I think because the educated and hard workers are escaping in their droves to Europe and North America. (but they are finding out it's no longer easy to build something from nothing here!)

Yeah, this is very different and obviously braking the law - contact local authorities (where this happened) first before posting on reddit? But obviously anyone can say shit about anyone else on the interenet, without proof it means nothing (but for sure is enough to cancel some people).
