I don't. Nintendo gave a degree of creative freedom to Universal but Nintendo-proper don't want to be shackled to any individual interpretation of their characters, and why should they?

I said this in one of the other Mario Kart threads, but I agree, though I think it'll probably be branded as "classic DK" or "arcade DK" rather than "movie DK," just because the rights to the movie design are probably a bit more complicated than the rights to old school DK, which are clearly Nintendo's alone.

I've seen several YouTubers point to the fact that Peach is wearing her dress instead of her biker outfit even though she's on a motorcycle in the trailer as a sign that the game will have skins/costumes.

I think we are making conclusions. What we saw was Donkey Kong not "Donkey Kong". We are expecting that to be "Donkey Kong Jr. Jr." but it was Donkey Kong. I don't think we have yet to see Donkey Kong, and by that I mean I don't think we've seen Donkey Kong Jr. Jr.

Once upon a time Universal sued Nintendo for Donkey Kong. They claimed that they own the rights to king kong and Nintendo infringed.

Court threw out the lawsuit.

Why? It’s not like the Mario Kart DK model is even new considering it seems heavily based of off the movie, and that design change was made all the way back in 2020/2021 when it started production.
