Oasis?
Arent they broken up or something?

Have they done anything in the last 5 years?

Oasis latest albulm was heathen chemistry, IIRC was release in 2002.

Definetly maybe, and (whats the story) Morning glory? are two of the greatest albulms of all time.

They have no shows in the south so I was gonna get some tickets to the Chicago show but the pre-sale ones sold out.. they'll be available tomorrow in another pre-sale from the venue itself (UIC Pavillion) so I am gonna snag 2 then. Flying halfway across the country is totally worthwhile for them.

As for the questions (dont you people get tired of making jokes about them?), they released a great album back in 2002 that unfortunately got completely snubbed by the radio stations and did a nation-wide tour that sold out (got to see them at the Hard Rock Live in Orlando). They have a new album coming out on May 16th in the UK (likely May 17th in the US) and this is a mini-tour to support it with a larger one coming later.

Sigh, so I couldnt get 2 tickets during the presale from the website and had class all day during the pre-sale (started at 11 AM) from the venue itself (public sale is tomorrow).. and ALL the GA tickets are sold out and are now going for 90 or so dollars a piece on ebay. I fucking HATE ticket scalpers.. I'm so pissed. :( I ended up in 203 which is on the top level.. sigh.

Oasis sure has dropped off the radar. They were one of the biggest bands out there when they first broke, now people think they've broken up (I actually thought that too)

U2 keeps going and going and going.....

Only people in the US think they're broken up.

AWESOME. I hope they come to SoCal because we didn't get any concert for the Heathen Chemistry release, though I saw them at Coachella which was their last visit to SoCal. I hear KROCK is doing a good job at promoting the concert at MSG, too. I have a good feeling about the upcoming album. OASIS MOTHERFUCKERS! :)

I think the new album is gonna rock too.. I have a feeling that it will do better in the States as well. I'm figuring they'll have a full-blown tour in the US either later this year or in 2006.. I hope so at least, getting to see them twice in a year's time would be godly. :D

I was considering going to the Jet, Oasis concert here, cause I thought it was going to be free...boy was I mad when I heard it was 50 dollars.

I've also got that feeling, mainly due to how Oasis seem to be more appreciated now than during the WTSMG years (At least by popular artists. The majority of Americans are still indifferent). You've got Anthony Keidis(sp) and Tom Morello going on TV and expressing that they think Oasis are a great band. A number of artists, good or otherwise, have covered Oasis, the most recents ones by Ryan Adams, Maroon5, and LocalH (Maroon5 covered three songs and LocalH did an entire Oasis covers set). A band I LOVE, The Killers, have openly stated that Oasis played a part in the formation of the band. Plus another band called Matt Pond PA are recording a cover of Champagne Supernova for the OC's season finale. Then you have KROCK, a station that has mainly played Linkin Park and Korn the past several years, promoting the Oasis concert (Just check out their main site, you would've never seen that three years go.). Oasis are still hanging around and being mentioned here and there. They're not going to be selling shitloads of records anytime soon, but I think the next album will do well enough to surprise some people.

As a fan, I'm thrilled.
