I have Series X and I don't understand the negativity around the console

This generation of MS consoles is awesome to me, I like Quick Resume feature so much! The store have so many games to buy, and sales are pretty often. It has the features in software and hardware to enhance my total view of appreciation
Maybe am overdramatizing this but it feels like people are pushing negativity towards this MS's generation too much
What do you think?
It's the best Xbox has ever been in terms of hardware, store, rewards points, Gamepass, system UI, cloud, tons of 1st party content starting to come out now. My only concern since 2021 has been lack of free time. Can't wait to see what their next big transition will end up looking like. Could potentially put this one to shame and be 10x better. We'll see if the rumors come true or not.

P.S. I rarely use cloud, but I played Yakuza a couple days ago over cloud and it was pretty difficult for me to really notice any difference. The screen did a glitch 1 second refresh maybe twice in 4 hours, and other than that it was basically like playing it native.

Bought the Series X in 2021 i think. Nothing to say about it honestly, it's just a boring console. Controler and interface copy pasted from One, very few exclusives games, no personality whatsoever. Hardware is fine but nobody supports it.

Even the One had more going on.

It’s probably good in isolation, if that’s all you have. I have all the systems and barely use any aside from the ps5 (or now the ps5 pro), it’s just comparatively not as good, whether that’s the ecosystem, the ui/ux, the controller or the first party games. I even prefer ps+ to games pass, which i have but hardly ever use.

Everyone is different tho.
Series X for me does everything I need
Quick Resume is such a great feature

I had a Series X because of Gamepass, but simply realized I liked PS more and I was spending on games anyways that were not on Gamepass so I went back to PS5. That being said I had no complaints about the Series X and this was personal preference. It is a great system and I have no hate for it at all. Sony needs competition and I hope Xbox can gain traction again. Otherwise, Hello $1,000 PS6!

Series X is a dead silent, beautifully understated console with a built in stand. In other words, everything that PS5 is not. On the other hand, Series X has a much inferior controller to the Dualsense and lacks any kind of support for external audio USB DACs.
For me, an absolute game-changer was the inclusion of Black Ops 6 and Flight Simulator 2024 in their Gamepass Ultimate. This is in addition to Forza Motorsport 8 and a bunch of other fantastic games. I have made the switch to the XBOX universe for the first time ever a few months ago as a result.

I bought it at launch and I have zero regrets.

I don't really care about graphics so the Series S works quite well for me.

And yes.... I still play my Vita.

It was to me, but damn, MS games are tripe, and christ, the stuff they're pumping on Gamepass half the time is some right purple tripe

I like Quick Resume feature so much!
Its pretty damn good

The store have so many games to buy, and sales are pretty often
The sales are complete bumhole. The prices are the exact same, every damn time! Sony absolutely curb stomp them when it comes to sales on the digital store front

I actually think MS or the publishers shit the bed on Xbox weekly. They're awful

It has the features in software and hardware to enhance my total view of appreciation

Not really. If you game on every other platform as well as Xbox it's easy to see the faults. And they're are many

The thing that gets me is it's such an easy fix from a company with the financial backing they have and the I.P's they own

It's just pure incompetence at this point.

What do you think?
I think orange smarties are the best.

Series X is a great console in terms of hardware. Build quality is excellent as well. The problem is Phil and Co. running the brand into the ground. Gamepass has ruined physical game sales to the point of no return. Telling people they don’t need an Xbox console to have gamepass and play on other devices. Putting exclusives on other platforms they directly compete with. So many stupid decisions that have truly made a very good console become irrelevant as well as the object of mockery and hate.

the issue comes down to that there are just a huge number of miserable sony fanboys on this site that love nothing more than to shit on the Xbox console and its players in thread after thread despite this site supposedly having "no console warring/fanboyism" rules.

they cannot just be happy with what they have, they have to denigrate Xbox players.

What happend?
It just started resetting randomly. Especially if I try to update or install something. I called MS tech support and they couldn’t help me, they literally just said I need to take it into a Microsoft Store… the closest of which is over an hour away.

So yeah, it just doesn’t work. Seems like either a super corrupted firmware install, or a problem with the PSU. Or possibly the SSD/RAM (but that’s much less likely).

Either way, definitely sucks.

The price. It's past the point of it being worth the asking price and the fact that either one PS5/XB haven't come down in the 4 years since it's release is mind blowing to me. It was only a few years after both PS1 and N64 that they both dropped down in price significantly and finally got into the hands of the average person.

If you bought either one of the PS5 or Xbox's at release, and you have a passing interest at best of the other side, you probably are less inclined to spend so much on something for only a handful of niche exclusives or features. If you couldn't afford a PS5 or Xbox at release, the last 4 years probably weren't very conducive to making much headway in your financial situation so a big purchase back in 2020 is still a big purchase in 2024. Seeing as the PS5 is the better selling console, it tracks that the Xbox would be a tougher buy for most people who weren't dead set on getting one right away.

Question for Xbox owners about the much-touted Quick Resume feature. If I want to pause playing a game on PS5, I put the console into Rest mode. Then, a couple hours later when I want to resume, I turn the console on, and I'm back in the game at the same point. How does the Quick Resume feature differ from this?

I don’t find it all that different with the PlayStation. I’m not usually playing more than one game at once, but I do use it as a media center so regularly flip between a game and Netflix, and it’s pretty much the same, just instant resume. With the little action button switcher it’s like 2 or 3 clicks and instant loading to go back and forth between a media app and a game. Even if ur switching to a different game, the boot is so fast it makes little difference if its half a second or 5 seconds 🤷‍♂️

Quick resume save states around 7 different games.

Why exclusive games are so important to some? I personally just want to play something
Using the hardware to the 'max' for exclusive games - that I agree with, because it is beneficial to the game

Exclusives being "important to some" doesn't affect you just wanting to play something.

Because you can do the same thing but with multiple games whereas on PS5 you have to close the current game.

I don't think anyone thinks it's bad. It is a really good console, it's just not got the library of the PS5 and is held back by it's little brother.

I'm struggling to understand where the OP found negativity about the Series X. To my mind all the negativity is about everything EXCEPT the Series X.

He must have not paid attention to the actual complaints. He just picked up an amorphous sense that people were "negative" about Xbox but didn't really understand why.

I love mine and if I hadn't recently purchased a new PC due to my old one dying I'd still be playing it daily.

I've thought about giving it to my son so he doesn't have to use the One S anymore, but it feels a waste to use it on a 1080p TV.

Gives the same vibe when anything positive iPhone gets mentioned all the Android users come and bash to make themselves feel better.
