I finally got my import copy and after four hours of messing with it I don't even know where to begin with it... the amount of destruction, campy storyline and utterly atrocious voice acting has turned it into one of my favourite games of this gen (it makes HOTD sound like a Shakespeare play, really) I don't know what the hell were smoking at From at the brainstorming sessions but it was something good, the CNN parody had me in stitches.

And now a question for the japanophile crowd with the game. Who plays the song from the second stage? It is quite cool, like screaming japanese emo.

I was very hyped for this, but I was disappointed when I got a chance to try it out for a level or two. The controls felt slow and clunky, and the whole experience felt cumbersome. Loved the whole concept and voice acting and all that bit, though, of course. Maybe it just needs some time and some options-tweaking.

i played through the first stage... and really did not like it.

the graphics were great, the destruction awesome, but for a mech that size, the weapons really felt puny. for fucks sake, the missiles you fire seem to travel at like 20mph. the gameplay was just dull. i'm not an otogi fan either though .

oh, the story seemed to rock though :lol

The first levels are just too easy, give it another chance. The game is a lot of fun if you are into simple arcade games (it feels like an old Sega shooter at times)

Problem for me is that I'm all about arcade/action games, and I'm a huge fan of Otogi. It just didn't click with me, and when I read op_ivy's post I realized that was one of the problems I had too. I only liked about two of the guns, but then again I'm aware that you can get a boatload of weapons through the game so perhaps that's not a problem. I'll take your word for it and give it another shot, though.

It's nice little game, bit short though, took me around 10 hours to finish it but somehow couldn't bother to go for unlockables afterwards. Controls are ok, maybe it'll take some time to get used to them, and who ever thinks this game is slow needs to fix their TVs or their eyes, or both. I only wished that all stages were setup in urban city areas.
Just like Otogi there is really cool boss fight at the end, it really surprised me where last stage is taking place.
