I might hate the arrogant fukken NY attitude.

From the boogie down bronx, suckas.

Ha. Bronx represent. In all seriousness, as a native NYer, born, raised, and still a current resident. I must say that NYC is the best city I've been to, and I'm not just saying that because I live here. Other cities have their own charm, but none have all the convieniences of NYC, as well as cultural diversity. Of all the cities I've been too, overall I'd rank NYC the best, with Tokyo and Osaka coming in at a close second and third place. Oh, and let's not forget Miami and Honolulu(which is beautiful, but boring to a city slicker after a while). Where else in the world, can you go outside at 12am and still find 2 Chimichurry trucks lined up side by side? Nowhere that I can think of.

*shoots self*

*makes sure not to splatter blood on precious Yankee cap*

heh, could you really claim Mets and be from BK though? BK is Yankee town until Coney Island...then, you've got Mets fandom.

...could I claim the Dodgers and be alright though? They were from Brooklyn :lol

Huh? You have heard of the Brooklyn Dodgers? Since when is Brooklyn Yankee territory?

Yeah it can be pretty grating at first if you're not used to it. I'm going to generalize here, but the most amazing is to compare NY foreign people to foreign people from in any other city I've been in. Usually foreign people recently arrived, unless they're in some kind of huge segregated community, are super-nice and respectful (which is how I am, so it's not a knock), but in NY they're even bigger assholes than the native NY people. "When In Rome"- I guess they just emulate whatever they see (be it kindness or assholishness) to the 10th degree. After a little while you do get used to the attitude though and now I basically have no problem w/ it, though I'm not totally fond of it.

I never thought that there were people other than me on this board from the Bx. I don't feel special anymore... :(

Yeah, I've heard of them. :p

As for Brooklyn, you know we don't have a team, so it's either Yanks or Mets. I see mostly Yankees fans - hardcore or fairweather - until I start getting near Coney Island and Keyspan Park where the Cyclones play. Makes sense too, since the Cyclones are Mets affiliates.

The Mets are the reincarnation of the Dodgers and Giants, hence their colors. I just don't see how anyone with any Brooklyn background could grow up supporting a team that everyone from this borough hated forever. The Yankees are the team of the wealthy and the suburban, the antithesis of working-class Brooklyn.

Also I think you're wrong about getting out to Coney Island until you run into Met fans. Carroll Gardens where I live now is all Mets, so are most neighborhoods where my friends live.

Yeah, I can see what you're saying. Also, their are quite a few people on GA that are from The Bronx, Beezy. Maybe more will turn up later. There's nothing wrong with The Bronx, as it is home to the best team in baseball. :D

i definitely see alot more yankee fans than mets fans in BK, probably like 3:1 or 4:1

I find that really, really hard to believe, unless you're talking about places like Park Slope or Brooklyn Heights, which may as well be the Upper East Side. That hasn't been my experience at all, and I was born, raised and still reside here.
