I miss Deus Ex

I miss this so much. The stealth, the immersion, the music, the story, the atmosphere… and Adam Jensen. I hate what happened to this franchise

Nothing will ever fill this void for me

One of my favorite franchises of all time, with Human Revolution being one of my Top 5 games

Mankind Divided was a disapointing sequel, but still a good game. And there's nothing quite like those games out there.

Considering the state of gaming today, maybe its for the best it's dead.

The og game from the 2000's PC era was amazing. I cant tell you how many runs I did back in the day. I think prolly 50+... The replayability and mechanics of the game for the time it came out were insane. There was nothing like it.

That year was special man. We got the original Matrix, and then Deus Ex I think shortly after. I was balls deep in my 'nerdy nigga in a leather trench and sunglasses' era during that time. I was walking to school dressed like walmart Wesley Snipes on the regular lmfao

The mdern games are not even close for me personally, I put maybe like 5 hours into human revolution before dropping it.

Oh dude same I absolutely love... Fucking love immersive sims like deus ex. It's a crime that this series is no where to be found, one of my all time favorites ever. Just the stealth aspects alone, loved it.

It's why I eat up any immersive sims we get, atomfall was pretty fucking awesome and one of my favorite platinums.... But that style of play just damn, it hits so hard.

Human Revolution felt like being in proper city. It was an amazing game,

Mankind Divided was terrible for giving that city feel. The city area of Mankind Divided was hostile to you from the get go, who hampered exploration as you now have to consistently avoid guards. That alone made me quit the game at the start.

Immersive sims just don't have mainstream appeal, hence the lack of them.
It's a real shame because they're definitely up there in my favourite game genres.
Judas might scratch an itch when it's finally released.
Also, Frictional's Ontos sounds really intriguing.

My man you dropped one of the best games ever made. Please go back to it and play it because the reason you are giving for dropping it its quite frankly ridiculous

Same goes for Nocty Nocty , go back and play Human Revolution from start to finish, you cant miss these games man

Cyberpunk and its sequel is probably the closest we'll ever get to a continuation of DE sadly. I still throw on the Unatco theme 1 hour loop and just let it soak in from time to time.

Unforgivable that they cancelled the game they had in dev to redirect resources into the mismanaged black hole that was wildlands…only to then cancel wildlands after about 8 years dev and hundreds of millions spent without ever even fully revealing the game.

Industry is such a broken mess.

Deus ex is your typical PC franchise, a niche with too much options to end up in the same place to give hardcore tennis racket socks players what they think they want. What the studio didn't understand is that Human Revolution had soul. By accident or by a first time inspiration they released a banger with an unmissable ambient and one of the soundtracks that is already history of the medium. So obviously they decided to make it again but with a generic setting and worst soundtrack for no reason. The niche gamers that it was catering to loved it (save for the imposed fragmentation, that is Square's fault) and nobody else. It sunk the franchise. And, as always, no lessons were learned.

This was the fucking menu:

I have to give it another chance because it was generic in 2016. By today's standards it's probably the fucking Gioconda.

I miss Human Revolution. Mankind Divided, not so much. More than that I miss a time when games like that were regularly made. I really took 2017 for granted.

It will take the fans or some indie developer to revive the franchise anytime soon, as the main studio with the I.P won't go back to it anytime soon...Adam Jensen could quite easily appear in Cyberpunk, the crossover would be great! ....but it is the state of the industry today, because had all the recent Deus Ex games been a smash hit then you would have got a new entry by now....but games cannot flop...which is why on a separate note the upcoming James Bond game has to succeed otherwise it'll end up like Deus Ex...

Original was one of my favorite games of all time. I'd preorder the highest tier or buy whatever console if it's exclusive next if we ever get a sequel that's faithful to the series.

Just started Human Revolution again for the umpteenth time brother, I know how ya feel. The series is, for me, simply one of the best of the medium.

Here's hoping someone that gives a shit buys the IP and gives us the sequel to Mankind Divided that we so desperately need, and then hopefully eventually a whole new entry that takes place after Invisible War, new main character and location, new gameplay mechanics, revive this hallowed series ya know? I kinda don't think it'll happen though. These games have never sold as much as their legendary status would suggest, and I don't think any publisher is likely to do right by them right now, though it's heartbreaking to admit.

Yup one of the best for sure. Would love to see what they can achieve on current gen hardware. Sad as Strong single player games like this have a big fanbase and following. But publishers and Developers seem to chasing the wrong type of gamers.
