Dude, could you please elaborate? I had major issues in dirt 2 (it seems to be helped greatly after the patch, but it doesn't seem perfect yet) with my 5870 performance-wise. Now the same shit is happening in Just Cause 2. The action will be 60fps and then everything will slow down to a crawl what seems to be randomly. Not only the framerate will slow down, but the entire game will slow down, it's really freaking annoying.
What are your major issues? For me, I had a bad card (5850) that couldnt run anything DX11 properly. Dirt 2 had lines and artifacts all over the place so much that it was unplayable. The Unigine Heaven benchmark gave me issues as well when I had all the DX11 bells and whistles turned on.
Add in the fact that I was also getting that grey screen error that toms hardware and others reported on a few months ago. I was very unhappy with my first ATI card. I contacted amazon and they replaced my out of warranty card free of charge. Its been fine for a month so far (knock on wood).
Dirt 2 runs alright for me on max. I dont remember what the FPS range is but it never dipped below 30. I do have Just Cause 2 issues though when Im using the in game Vsync and AA options. It goes from 60FPS to 30FPS in seconds sometimes when there isnt even much going on. Then it hangs there for a little bit before suddenly bouncing back up to 60. It rarely ever hangs in between which is what makes it so annoying to me. Others people using our series of cards have reported the same. Either our drivers have issues or the game doesnt like our cards.
