Does anybody know if these RAM sticks are compatible with Ryzen or my mobo?

I don't see it listed on Asrock's QVL for my mobo and I'm looking at the stickers as well as that Newegg link and it says its optimized for Intel with no mention of AMD.

It's RAM so it should just work right??

It's 2400mhz ddr4, that's all that matters, so it'll work.

The Corsair 570X looks pretty good, but the honeycomb pattern behind the glass looks a little too dorky.

My question is: what i can expect from performance? i do really wanna play videogames in here...The latest game i played was Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition back in the day.
I want to play everything i can at the highest perfomance with the better settings possible. How does the GTX 1050ti performs with, for example, Batman Arkham Knight at 1080p?

It's a good card, but it'll struggle to max things out and hit 60FPS in some newer games. It's comparable to the the GTX 960.

It's definitely possible in a lot of games. I used to have the card myself, if you ever struggle to hit 60FPS, just turn down some of the settings that you don't even notice and you'll be fine. The 1060 3Gb is worth considering too if you can get it cheap.

Somewhat depends on the rest of your build and whether you're overclocking your CPU and/or GPU. It's a bit borderline for my comfort either way, but my guess is that it'll work, without knowing the rest of your system. My suggestion is to put your entire system into PCPartPicker and look at the wattage suggestion listed there.

Not sure how good EVGAs are in psu, but you should be fine as long as it doesn't suck.

4770k @4ghz
1080ti @ 1950mhz and ~12ghz memory pulls around <430 watts out of the wall according to my Belkin.

Assuming you don't have a 12 core cpu or an octocore clocked to the moon.

Hi all, just need some external validation. I think I have made a half decent choice for a motherboard but before I order it I want to check with you fine folks.

I currently have the following:

- AMD - Ryzen 5 1600 3.2GHz 6-Core Processor

And want to know if the the below is compatible / a good choice. I'm pretty sure it is compatible and has the additional bits I need (built in LAN / sound / a good number of USB ports) but I'm not 100%.

The x series looks really good, and the smaller version 460x is awesome too. But Thermaltake has a pretty good looking case too

Havent bought a new pc in quite a while but i just got the money for one. Dont follow the hardware market closely anymore but i read up a bit the last couple of days and came up with this build:

Going to transfer the SSD from my previous build. Primary usage is going to be gaming on a 144hz monitor. Maybe some occasional streaming.

Planning on getting one later. The real issue I am having is whether I should go for a different CPU/mobo combo that is similarly priced (keeps the overall build under $600). I basically want to get the best possible mobo/combo available for $300ish that will still fit in that case. The motherboard would have onboard wifi ideally, but not necessary. I'm just struggling to come up with a better combo than the one I have currently selected

Hello everyone, I don't need a new PC but I have a question.
My wife bought me an old, old PC for like $20 as we are broke, and I tried installing a video card just so I can play some basic games with her on her much better laptop. The video card fit just fine but when turning on, there was a red light and a beep, and the computer didn't even boot or had power running through it. Any idea if this is an incompatibility issue or a power supply issue? Here are the specifications;

Motherboard - HP Model 3646h, chipset Intel Q45/Q43

CPU Intel Core 2 Duo E8400

Power Supply HP D240 2E0 240 watt power supply

Graphics Card AMD ATI Radeon NFXD5 1gb Low Profile PCI-e

I researched and my motherboard has PCI x16 slots, so I thought the card would be compatible. Anyway, I know it's a long shot, but would anyone be able to shed some light? =(

If you're going for a CPU upgrade, then that'll be a new motherboard and DDR4. Probably around $300-400 on those if you shoot for mid range.

$200ish for something like a Ryzen 1600
$75 for a B350 motherboard
$70ish for 8Gb of DDR4/$130-140 for 16Gb.

If AMD ain't your bag, then you've got the new i5 8400 but the current motherboard line up is limited, and more expensive. Talking $120 minimum right now for a Z370 board

I just want whatever upgrade gets PUBG running the best. I might do a proper rebuild in about 2 years. Could an extra 8gb of ddr3, keeping the same mobo, and upgrading gpu and cpu work out? Doesn't matter to me if they're old parts as long as I can do it for under $500.

Frankly, yes. Getting an old i7 on the same socket as you have now, an extra 8gb RAM and getting a newer GPU will breath a lot of life into your setup. Price-wise though, can't really help you to much since I don't know what kinda price 4XXX series CPU's go for.

Yeah, that is "normal", the ink is not a liquid anymore and went firm.

As I read you also tried to use all the tools from your printer and it still doesn't work.
Can you sent the firm ink back to HP for a new one?

Nope especially if you're only playing at 60fps. I'd spend money on a new monitor instead. You could get away with a 4K 60hz monitor or a 1440p 144hz with your 7700K/1080 ti. I have a 6700K/1070 and even that kills 1080p 60fps so I just downsample 1440p.

If you were to go for a 144hz monitor then you'd probably need to consider a new CPU sooner because it'd help hit 144fps and keep up the minimum fps. If you go for a 60hz monitor you could keep the 7700K for a while yet because you don't need to worry until you start dipping below 60fps.

My next purchases will probably be a 4K 60hz monitor and a new GPU. Wasn't interested in the 7700K and neither the 8700K. Probably earliest I'll upgrade is Icelake or Tigerlake when we're on 10nm/+ 8/16 cpus.

you might wanna wait for the 1070 Ti which is meant to come out in about 2 weeks. It is close to the 1080 in terms of performance. not sure about price but just keep in mind if you're looking at a 1070 right now.

The GPU market is still kinda fucked up at the moment. Secondhand 970s are a viable alternative for those wanting high performance at 1080p, but can't get their hands on a GTX 1060 or RX 580, and so their prices have eked back up.

what about trying to get the most bang for you buck gaming PC. In my case I only use my PC for gaming so I'm wondering if just pulling the trigger on a 7700k and moving the savings between the 8700k/7700k and a z370/z270 to a better graphics card or monitor might be a better move.

Having disconnect issues with my Rift recently, and was sure it was a loose connection as it lost video and made the windows disconnect sound when moving it on my head or adjusting it...

However it happens much more when frequently when sim racing, so that means I've got my wheel, shifter, rift + 3 x sensors, transducer seat and wireless keyboard/mouse combo all plugged in at once.

Would a powered USB hub help here? Not possible to add an additional USB PCI hub due to my small case...Thanks!

You can mess with Window's power settings to try and prevent it from shutting off USB devices to save power. But... if you have an older mobo, USB 3.0 implementation is iffy and a HUB might help. I use one (Amazon model), it keeps my external hard drives from randomly disconnecting. Mind that the HUB will be limited to the speeds provided by a single USB 3.0 port.

I have tried two B350 mITX boards and both have been a disappointment. Among the two, the Gigabyte B350 ITX (GA-AB350N-Gaming WIFI) would be my pick if I absolutely had to but make sure you have good airflow on the VRMs if you go with this.

Eh, not really. On the flip side, a lot of 4K TVs upscale to varying degrees of success too, so it's hard to tell how you would like it on a monitor that does not do it.

Hey thanks for the response. Going to fiddle with my power settings later too, and have just ordered a powered hub to see if it helps things.

The devices I'm using don't really require speed, but will keep the rift sensors plugged directly into the pc. Fingers crossed!

That setup will be good for years to come if you just want to max out 1080p on a 60hz monitor.

If anything, you should upgrade to a 1440p G-Sync monitor so you can actually see some of the incredible performance that machine is capable of.
