I need your assistance

My friend only buys a new game once every blue moon. He has decided that the game coming out this season he absolutely has to have...more than any other...is Quake IV.

Now, when it comes down to it, it's his money, and I don't care that much what he does with it. But as a gamer, I find it agonizing that id is going to make another fifty bucks off a game that looks mediocre at best when there are so many better games coming out this season.

Please...PLEASE help me convince my friend that this is a bad decision. He's got a great PC, an Xbox and a PS2. If you were me, what game's name would you scream in his ear as you smacked him upside the head?

OMG. If he doesn't get RE4, he fails

Gaming 101

:lol

Seriously though. Resident Evil 4. Mark my words. GOTY everywhere soon.

No doubt in my mind.

Your friend doesn't sound like someone that would appreciate a game like SotC so I'll just go ahead and recommend F.E.A.R. (as well).

RE4.
But get it on GC.
And get a GC.

And then get RE4 on PS2 for the extras.
But wait for a price drop after he beats the GC version.

Yes, RE4 GOTY.
Thank you Nintendo for delaying TP.

(Or maybe that's WHY Nintendo delayed TP...)

F.E.A.R is the correct answer unless he is an obssesive multiplayer gamer, in which case let him go nuts with Quake IV.

Funny you should say that...

He's buying Quake IV because Gamespot said it had great single player and he "doesn't care" about the multiplayer. :lol

But, he's already off to the store...plenty pissed that I made him look like an idiot....so, I guess it's enough that I made him look like an idiot. =P

He owns an Xbox?

FarCry Instincts would be a great choice. The game has it all, great visuals, lots of great shooting action, good stages to play in,weapons, overall the single player is massive fun. And if he ever goes online he can download maps from others to play against or even create his own if he is that sort of thing.
