" If Dreamcast Came Back "

Alright lets get this topic started. For all the die hard or just normal type of sega / dreamcast fans, what games would you like to see if um the Dreamcast Came back?

Action, fighting, what. Just for fun, so dont start console tripping up in here alright. :lol

I could see Majesco releasing $49 Dreamcasts with $9 games. That's the only hope for any "comeback" I'm afraid...

I do wish they had done a final box set of the easy to port games.

Slashout, Planet Harriers, Propeller Arena, etc all in one $100 box. I would have bought it.

Actually, bringing DC back as a budget machine might not be a bad idea given Sega Sammy's SOC Aurora architecture. There's tons of games to choose from for rerelease too... Majesco sold something like 2 million Genesis units and 10 million Genesis software units in 1998 in the US alone, I could see something similar done for Dreamcast.

Give me another Samba de Amigo game.

Samba de Amigo with the maraccas is the coolest non game game ever. I love Samba!

Bringing back the dreamcast to me, is a good idea. Its millions of fans still out there who wanna see more games. SO anything is possibe, just gotta wait and see in the future or something. I say bring it back to a point , not on the same level of the xbox or ps3 or whatever, but bring it back so we can continue to buy games for the system. Dreamcast died to early + millions of fans will still buy the games if more came out, = Great IDEA.

Peace. :D

Skies of Arcadia 2
Chu Chu Rocket 2
Rez 2
Shenmue 3
Ooga Booga 2

Agreed. Been wishing they'd put all the online games (Chu Chu Rocket, Alien Front Online, Ooga Booga, etc.) on a disc for Xbox Live and I'd be a happy man. C'mon Sega! How hard would that be?!

Propeller Arena was completed, did it ever leak out? I'm not looking to snag a pirated copy or anything, just curious if anyone has ever seen it.

I believe it has, yes.

You are very late in the internet world. Yes it is leaked and never was sold in stores due to the 9/11 thing(which is a excuse btw). The game has nothing to do with 9/11, its a completely different thing, you dont even target buildings in the game i dont think.

Anyway, yea its already leaked and i got it the first day it leaked. We had no choice but to download the game, because it never made it to the stores.

Same with Half-Life. :)

Anyway, if the rereleased DC, would there even be any new games? Afaik, no new genesis games came out, nor Game Gear, and majesco did rereleases of both.

Not true, Majesco released Frogger for Genesis in 1998 and Super Battle Tank for Game Gear in 2001. There's tons of DC imports up for grabs with a rerelease though.

It would be great if the dreamcast came out again. I rather liked the Dreamcast. :) If it did, more Shenmue and Skies of Arcadia would probably be good. Oh and a new Seaman. I'd like some more RPG's for it. Whee..

The topic makes little sense...

I really want to see Sega make a comeback, but not the Dreamcast hardware (as it's simply too dated at this point).

The hardware is dated? HA Most dreamcast games that has been release years ago looks better then some ps2 games. Any dreamcast fan i know, if they seen like 20 new dreamcast games in the store, they will pick up thier ps3 or ps2 game, thier xbox game and i am positive they will pick up some dreamcast games.

I got a box full of dreamcast games, i think i have what over 95 dc games, only about 10 of them i played and 5 of them i am playing right now, so i gots to look forward too.

If dreamcast made a comeback, not a big one, just a normal one, i'm all for it. Just make sure the games are tight and its all good, bring back the online option and its on.

I can picture a clone of GTA right now, 128bit, 4 cds, online play. oh man, dated? NOPE.

Don't want to start an argument here, but this just isn't true anymore. Back in 2000? Sure. Now? No way.

Regardless, all current consoles are dated and I'd want to see Sega return on next-gen hardware...not dated 1998 hardware.

It would be cool to see it hit stores again through Majesco or something. I have tons of DC games already, but I'll keep an eye out for some unique non-US titles when I head over to Japan.

The GTA and 128-bit comment is odd, though. The DC would have a much more difficult time with a GTA style game. You do realize what makes it struggle on PS2, right? Also, DC is a 64-bit platform...but bits really don't matter. XBOX is more powerful than all of the current machines, yet only uses a 32-bit CPU...

Speaking of Planet Harriers, is that ever going to be ported at all, to any console?

came back? where did it go? mine is still pluged into my monitor via VGA adapter ready for my next futile attempt at beating ikaruga!

THE LEGEND WILL NEVER DIE!

I'd want a port of Virtual On Force. I scoured and scoured for Force videos, read all the info I could. It sounded like a great game; a midpoint between the original VO and Oratorio Tangram, but with four players. I purchased an Xbox for that damn game. I became batshit insane when Marz was announced.

And then we finally get Marz. Force engine, no real multiplayer. =/

Back to the Dreamcast. Honestly, as great as the system was, all I really use it for is the small, small handful of excellent games that haven't been ported to systems I leave hooked up.

For example: If VOOT, VF3tb, Jet Grind Radio, and Crazy Taxi were ported to the Xbox, I'd probably never use the DC again.

I can picture a clone of GTA right now, 128bit, 4 cds, online play. oh man, dated? NOPE.

Sorry, but the hardware is dated. Argue all you want about how the DC was much more powerful than the PS2. It had some strengths that the PS2 didn't, sure, but MGS2 just wouldn't have worked. Nor would GTA3. On top of that, the PS2 itself is pretty damn dated, anyway.

Exactly. Even back in 2001, there were plenty of PS2 games that looked far more impressive than anything on the DC. MGS2, GT3, Silent Hill 2, The Bouncer (not a good game, of course, but it looked great), etc. Those games all did things that the DC just could not. Years later, the PS2 has far exceeded those games. MGS3, Burnout 3, ZOE2, God of War, etc. are just too far beyond DC...

Most importantly, however, the PS2 IS dated. At this point, the argument is not much different than discussing whether the PSX was more powerful than the Saturn. Both pieces of hardware are dated and the next-generation is on its way. It IS fun to discuss, of course, but it doesn't mean much for upcoming games...

I would LOVE to have a sequel to Skies of Arcadia on a next-gen system, though. Damn, that would absolutely rock.

Dreamcast was a system I got when I was 9. (I'm kinda young, 14 too be exact) It is probably my all time favorite system. As for the games I'd like too see some titles similar too the ones it featured.

A PSO much in the spirit and style of the first one. ( Episode 2 and 3 sucked ass)
A new Marvel vs. Capcom
Maybe some beat em' up titles similar to Dynamite Cop and Revenge of the Zombies(Shitty games but anything too revive that genre)
Sword of Beserk 2
A good sequel to Sonic Adventure (Sonic Adventure 2 really was a dissapointment and boring on most levels. I hated spending a half hour searching for Chaos Emeralds.)
Skies of Arcadia 2

I would love to see the canned Agartha see release. That one hurt.

As many others have mentioned, Skies of Arcadia 2, and a true Sonic Adventure 3 would rule.
