If Metal Gear Solid 'Delta' is a collection of remakes, what will the next one will be called?

You all know Konami is bringing out a MGS3 remake called Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater -- maybe they are planning 'Delta' to be a series of remakes in chronological order. If that was the case though, the second 'Delta' game would then be a remake of MGS1, which had no subtitle. What do you think they would call it?

No…The next would be Peace Walker, so MGS Delta: Peacewalker…
After that would be MGSV which lets be real they wont touch. SO after Peace Walker it would be Metal Gear which absolutely deserves a remake.

MGS 1 is not the next game chronologically. It's Portable Ops, then Peace Walker, then 5, then MG 1 and 2 if you count those, which we should, despite no "Solid".

The most likely culprit for the next remake is probably 4, since it's the highest profile game in the series to not be playable on current hardware. I'd rather see them do the PSP games though.

A ground up remake of 1 + 2 would be ideal, but I think it's too ambitious for Konami these days.

Also the games should be titles Delta, Epsilon, Iota. And at the end of the third game Snake pulls off his mask and reveals that he's been Debra Wilson the entire time.

They said multiple times they want to create fans in the younger generation who missed the original games, so ss they started with mgs3 it makes sense to continue with portable ops + peace walker for the new fans to play them in chronological order.

Guys, maybe this belongs in the hot takes thread, but nobody gives a shit about Portable Ops or Peace Walker and they won't waste time doing a full remake of those. MGS1 will be next.

I kind of agree for Portable Ops, although it has its good moments.
But Peace Walker is necessary for the Big Boss saga and it must be done.
It is also a great game for co op and they could go above and beyond and redesign some of the maps to something similar to the Omega Camp.

Also, MGSV:TPP can be remade pretty easily so they can put the required time to add more gameplay elements to that one, like random events in the open world, conflicts between soviets and Afghanis, the ability to bring in DD allies etc.
They have an entire catalogue of mods to take some inspiration.

They should fabricate some kind of me-too controversy about Kiefer Sutherland and ruin his career. That way they can get him cheap and actually flesh out the story. Ride the controversy train for free publicity, then have him exonerated the week before release.

Money in the bank.

Edit: Also get Hayter to voice Ishmael, like always should have.

Delta represent letter D in the greek alphabeth, D of Drakon, which means Serpent, which ties with Snake (Eater)

If their plan is to release remakes in chronological order, then the next remake should be Peace Walker, which could be Metal Gear Solid: Epsilon, as Epsilon represent the letter E of Eirene, the Greek goddess of Peace

Metal Gear Delta: Operation Intrude N313

Chronologically it's the first game, it was made in 1987! (As in real life timeline, not in-game timeline)

For some reason i think they will have david hayter redub all of kiefers lines

I know Japan used the same dude, but it really doesn't make sense narratively.

Sure they could say they did some kind of vocal chord surgery or something stupid like that.

At a meta level it also plays into the larger theme in the game of losing your voice/native language.

I doubt they're going to bring Hayter in just to read hours and hours of journal entries most players will never listen to. Ultimately I guess it depends on what kind of contract Kiefer had and weather they would need to pay him big bucks to re-release his voice lines. Might be cheaper to redub everything.

All of this is moot though for now because MGS5 is the least likely game to be remade anytime soon imo.

I'm interested to see what, if any, new dialogue is in Delta. I've seen quotes with Konami saying they're just using the old VO. I've seen quotes of Hayter saying he's recording new stuff he cant talk about. I don't remember some of the Boss's lines from the trailer being in the original so there does seem to be some new stuff at least.

This thread is an awesome testament to how Metal Gear, as a brand, draws a lot of attention in this circle; though not necessarily from people knowledgeable about it. Took way too many posts before someone picked up on the fact there are at least 4 games between MGS3 and MGS1.

Does OP even realize that it's "Delta" because that's like a triangle, which has three sides?

Honestly I think it's just something they chose because it sounds vaguely military related and cool.

It's not like we have an auteur like Kojima behind these games anymore. I don't think there's any deeper meaning behind "Delta"
