AotC is my favorite and it's the movie I alway watch when I only have time to watch just one.

The smart answer is of course ANH since it works best as a standalone film.
I'm not sure I want to live in a world where AotC is someone's favorite star wars movie.

Tough call between II & III.

II has the least weak parts and is the tightest film, so it's the easiest to rewatch.

However III, whilst more uneven, has higher highs. It's got the Darth Plagueis scene, Palpatine's reveal, and the entire closing sequence from Mustafar onwards.

I think I'll go with Attack of the Clones since it's my favourite Star Wars film and therefore the safer choice.

As neither of them are part of the poll my answer is Return of the Jedi.

Underrated gems. And fucking grim.

The real nerd in me wants to pick Empire, it really is the best movie, but without the payoff of Return of the Jedi it wouldn’t stick the landing. Eternal cliffhangers aren’t my thing.

That leaves me with a couple weird choices.

Rogue One, or Battle for Endor.

I think battle for Endor was the better self contained story, so I guess I’m going to have to go with that (until a rewatch ruins it) as I haven’t seen it in 30 years.

Empire is the best but I voted Rogue One for several reasons.

It's a stand alone story.

It 'looks' the best as it's more recent and has lovely effects and cinematography.

It has the best action

It has far more sex appeal. No matter how you get off there's something for everyone. Things you can wank to in this movie:

- The starship dog fights with peak X-Wings in all their glory.
- Vader absolutely savaging a bunch of scared pussies with his glowing red saber of doom.
- Jyn Erso and her sexy little mouth
- Cassian Andors sexy booty
- The sassy and badass K-2SO all sexy black and shiny like any good sex robot should be

Rogue One is awesome how has it only got 4 votes?

I chose The Phantom Menace because I was a kid back then and I remember all the hype, merchandise and fun seeing the movie for the first time. It also brings back memories of ‘99 like watching goosebumps, listening to smash mouth and just enjoying life. The movie was good too.

A New Hope
It is the only movie that you can watch on its own and it makes sense. It has a beginning and an end, the other movies are practically just an afterthought, an extension of the original movie. You can easily imagine that the Empire is on the Death Star and the story ends with its destruction.

Empire is the best film but for pure re-watchability I’d have to go with Return of the Jedi. It was Star Wars at the height of its powers and I was the right age to just soak it all in. And the end hits me right in the feels, the perfect finale to a space fairytale.

Excuse me what the fuck?

It's Star Wars, i.e. objectively speaking all of them could be considered either great or awful depending on who is watching & which movie it is. Star Wars is like that, i.e. it appeals to people in different ways. Personally speaking I believe Empire Strikes back is overrated (i.e. the movie most considered the best in the series). Its opening is strong, as is the confrontation between Vader & Luke, but the rest? I don't like it. I didn't like the romance between Solo & Leia, the excessive wisecracking & C-3PO becoming one of the most annoying comedic side characters in cinema history long before Jar Jar.

I enjoy Episode III most, if I had to choose. It has so many cathartic moments, i.e. for example Anakin slicing Mace Windu's forearm off, followed by Windu's screaming & the "unlimited powerrrrr!" from Palpatine is like literally my favorite Star Wars moment ever (best cinema experience as well). The build up to the big moment is just so good. And the part of the duel on Mustafar when Anakin & Obi Wan swing on the ropes of the collapsed structure, Obi Wan lands, Anakin runs, backflips onto the small platform & casually twirls his lightsaber. That whole sequence is so awesome (best music as well).

I can't tell if this whole post is being sarcastic.

Star Wars is serious business, right? i.e. one man argues that a bunch of grown men hitting each other with glowing sticks in the 1980's was better than a bunch of men hitting each other with glowing sticks in the 2000's. Me? I don't care. I'm just saying it as I experienced it. 2005's Episode III was my favorite Star Wars movie & cinema moment.

Phantom Menace. Simply because at the time I was happiest in life at 13. I went with my mum to see it. I wasn't really a fan but all my friends were so just wanted to watch it because they did as they loved Star Wars.

I don't really remember any of them, but I guess return of the jedi because of the cute & cuddly dancing bears I wish I could own one as a pet

When I was a kid, I loved RotJ for having the coolest monsters, the Speeder Bikes and the Biker Scouts.
Now Im older, I love it for all that, plus Slave Leia and the big showdown at the end.

Return of the Jedi. It comes all together being epic and all...just this piece alone makes it the best Episode for me.

Revenge of the Sith

Highest meme per minute ratio.

Also legit the best one (as sad as that is).

Good question, I have no problem with only watching one Star Wars movie, if you rewatch any of time, some excellent quotes, some of the biggest movies ever.

Force Awakens.
