If you could personally own an arcade game, what would it be?

R-360 or a Twin Virtua Racing Deluxe.

Twin VR aren't that expensives, but I have no room in my flat :/

Already have a Killer Instinct 2 Cab, customized to play jamma and mvs games

Probably one of the recent Beatmania IIDX or Pop'N Music machines. The big screen on the IIDX setups are just luscious. :drool

Deluxe Race Drivin', with clutch, stick shit, and the steering wheel all in perfect working condition.

I would love a "mint", never been used, brand-spanking new Robotron 2084...

Or Attack From Mars pinball... once again... "mint", never been used, brand-spanking new

I own the original Pong cabinet.

If I could only pick one:
Samurai Shodown 4

Others:
Samurai Shodown 1/2/3/5
Metal Slug 1/2/X/3
Daytona - 8 cabinet

I have the following at home...

1. Star Wars
2. Front Line
3. Ms. Pac Man (Upright and Cocktail)
4. Track and Field
5. Gyruss
6. Super Pac Man
7. High Speed (Pinball)
8. Building a MAME cabinet.

Super Monkey Ball
Puzzle Bobble 4
Taiko Drum Master

and the girlfriend has resolved to buy DDR 5th Mix once we get a bigger house

If you're going to buy an arcade system, it's hard to go wrong with this one:

click on the picture for info

The site lists it for $2299, but the Costco I saw it at had it for $1999. It includes ALL of the following games:

Asteroids ® (Atari 1979)
Asteroids Deluxe ® (Atari 1980)
Battlezone ® (Atari 1980)
Berzerk ® (Stern 1980)
Black Widow ™ (Atari 1982)
Bombjack Twin™ [Ultracade Technologies 2003(NMK 1993)]
Centipede ® (Atari 1980)
Crystal Castles ™ (Atari 1983)
Dark Stalkers ™ (Capcom 1994)
Ghosts 'N Goblins™ (Capcom 1985)
Gravitar ™ (Atari 1982)
Gunsmoke ™ (Capcom 1985)
Ladybug ™ [Ultracade Technologies 2002 (Universal 1981)]
Liberator ™ (Atari 1982)
Lunar Lander ™ (Atari 1979)
Major Havoc ™ (Atari 1983)
Mega Man ™ (Capcom 1995)
Millipede™ (Atari 1982)
Missile Command ® (Atari 1980)
Mr. Do! ™ [Ultracade Technologies 2002 (Universal 1982)]
Mr. Do!'s Castle ™ [Ultracade Technologies 2002 (Universal 1983)]
Mr. Do!'s Wild Ride ™ [Ultracade Technologies 2002 (Universal 1984)]
Penguin Wars ™ [Ultracade Technologies (UPL 1984)]
Pinball Action ™ (Tehkan 1985)
Pinbo ™ (Jaleco 1984)
Red Baron ™ (Atari 1980)
Space Duel ™ (Atari 1982)
Street Fighter II ™ (Capcom 1991)
Speedball ™ (Tecfri 1987)
Strider ™ (Capcom 1989)
Super Breakout ™ (Atari 1978)
Super Dodge Ball ™ [Ultracade Technologies 2003 (Technos 1987)]
Tempest ™ (Atari 1980)
Warlords ™ (Atari 1980)
1942 ™ (Capcom 1984)

And for multiplayer it automatically flips the screen. The controls are arcade quality, the monitor looked to be top quality as were the materials & construction. Controls for each player are a joystick, trackball, and several buttons (I think it was 6, can't remember now). I played Tempest.

There's a stand-up version, as well. You can also get additional game packs from the manufacturer

The "Blast Pack" includes:
Defender
Joust
Klax
Robotron 2084
Defender: Stargate
Tapper
Toobin

and the "Sports Pack" includes:
Arlington Horse Racing
Goal '92
Goalie Ghost
Golden Tee Golf
Golden Tee Golf 2
Gridiron Fight
Hat Trick
Hoccer
Hot Shots Tennis
Karate Champ
Mini Golf
Ring King
Side Pocket
Spiker
Super Strike
Strata Bowling
Street Hogs
Super Champion Baseball
SNK Super Dodge Ball
Super Dodge Ball
Super Doubles Tennis
Tag Team Wrestling
Tehkan World Cup
US Championship Volleyball
Windjammers
WWF Superstars
WWF Wrestlefest

Of course you COULD build a MAME cabinet for a lot less, but then you wouldn't legally have any games ;)

Street Fighter 2 Turbo OR that Boxing Game that you play by punching the air and moving around.

ACTUALLY! A the Jersey shore there was this huge cabinet with seats and a huge TV, it had a shit load of games on it and good ones like All the Street fighters (excpet 1 and 3) MK, and a bunch of cool 80's games and NES arcade games. I would love that.

8 Ball Deluxe pinball.

Any number of pinball machines.

Robotron

Tempest

(In that order).

Videogames are cool and all, but nothing beats pinball.

I am an oldschool 80'ies junkie. I would probably have said something like Shinobi, Cabal, Blood Bros or Combat School.

But a three screen f355 would be sweet as hell!!

I have:

VF2
VF3 (not hooked up)
Zero Gunner
Dead or Alive
WWF Wrestlefest
Track and Field

and a whole fuckload of CPS2 games.

FYI, I talked with a guy at my favorite PCB shop in Akihabara, and both Daytona's and Scud Races are both "essentially impossible" to find in Japan. :(

where abouts? seaside heights?

MAME Arcade?!?! Someone talk to me about this. I play them on my Xbox, I'd love to play these in their proper setting. I'd make one after the Run N Gun 2 cabinet

Games i would love to own!

- Mrs Pac-Man
- NBA Showtime/NFL Blitz Sports Station Combo
- Marvel VS Capcom 2
- Revenge From Mars Pinball
- Star Wars Episode 1 Pinball
- Mo-Cap Boxing
- Police 911

eh, i'd just want a nice japanese jamma cab with a big, easily rotatable monitor. my first game would probably be esp.ra.de. but really arcade cabs are too much hassle and expense for me, and they take up too much space.

Good call, ESP RaDe would be my first game too :) If not that, then maybe Ninja Turtles:The Arcade Game, one of those kickass rotating AfterBurner machines, a SFA3 cabinet, or a DDR machine (just for my girlfriend's sake :P).

Street Fighter II original, glitches and all. The one I played the most, and the one I had the most fun with... even if it is poor in competitive play.

Otherwise, most Jp DDR machines or heck... almost any Jp rhythm game would do.

I feel ya Helena - that tandem Super GT would be super fine.

That would be on my list for sure, always enjoyed it a little more than Daytona . . . or maybe an Outrun machine.

A Guitar Freaks machine would also be up there for me.

Another vote for Samba De Amigo. Hell, it'd probably end up being less expensive than a DC, the game, and the fricken maracas. :P

Hands down, Robotron 2084.

If I could own a 2nd, it would be Space Harrier. As long as I could get it for cheap :P

I have a supergun with no boards, but Raiden Fighters Jet, Armed Police Batrider, and Battle Bakraid are numbers one through three on my list for when I do start buying again.

Of course, given the theme of the thread, I'd love a pristine Astro City or Taito Egret cabinet to go along with them.

One of those 80's playboy pinball machines.

That can't be an 80's playboy pinball machine cause it has a playmate from the 90's on the side of it. Must be a rerelease of the machine.
