Let's say it's a movie and you can grab a used dixie cup from the trash and run a DNA test.
Who do you test?

I know Shaun King will be a popular one, so I'm going a little more obscure.

I'd love to get a paternity test on the Obama kids.

Harry does resemble his Spencer heritage.

I know there are rumours of James Hewitt being the biological father of Price Harry, but Hewitt himself has even said that his affair with princes Diana started after Harry was born......which he would say wouldn't he 🤔

I am really into genetic genealogy. One of the most interesting living people in terms of genetic genealogy is a 90-something year old man, Harrison Ruffin Tyler, who amazingly is the grandson of John Tyler (1790-1841), the 14th President of the United States. While it may seem impossible that someone born in 1790 could have a living grandchild, the simple story is that President Tyler was married twice. He had a son to a much younger woman in the 1830s, and then that son got married later in life and had two sons (including Harrison Ruffin Tyler):

John Tyler, the 10th U.S. president, was born in 1790. He took office in 1841, after William Henry Harrison died. And he still has one living grandchild.

I would really like to know if Harrison Ruffin Tyler is the actual biological grandson of President Tyler. While it makes sense that President Tyler and his son each had children later in life, a DNA test would support/confirm this story. Otherwise, you wonder if either/both of the older Harrison men were the actual biological fathers of these children (i.e. either could have been the result of an affair or something like that).

If Harrison would do an Ancestry DNA test, it would be possible to compare the amount of DNA he shares with Ancestry DNA tests from descendants of John Tyler's children from his first wife. Just checking to see if Harrison and these descendants matched at all would be strong evidence in support of concluding that Harrison is the actual biological grandson of President Tyler. Given that Harrison would have roughly 25% of his autosomal DNA from his grandfather, he would probably have a fairly sizable amount shared with descendants of Tyler's other children (they would be second cousins - probably 4 to 5 or so generations removed).
