What are some good non traditional workouts that you can use to either bulk up or just get in better shape? Right now I do lots of pushups for the chest. I do situps, and jumping jacks. Is there anyway to exercise biceps and arms? I was thinking of putting a bunch of books into a backpack and lifting it, is that sufficient?

I've been using push-up bars like these for a few years now, and I can't go back to doing push-ups the regular way. They really allow you to dip down low and get a full range of motion; it feels similar to letting the bar come down to your chest in a bench press. I think they help turn push-ups into more of a total upper-body exercise. It definitely works the triceps, and if you lower yourself slowly and deliberately, will work the biceps too.
