If you're planning to try Sea of Thieves on PS5, it's currently on sale on Steam (head start for PS5 as it's cross-progression)

If you have $20 laying around and want to learn Sea of Thieves before it hits PS5 the game is on sale on Steam right now:

It's 100% cross progression and cross play. So anything you do in the Steam version and all unlocks and progression will continue over to the PS5 when it launches at the end of April.

Buying the game twice just to play it a couple days earlier?

And we ask why this industry sucks so much.

It's $20 and if you don't like it you can get a Steam refund. It's a good way to try Sea of Thieves before committing to the PS5 version.

why get into that hassle when you can grab a month of game pass subscription and have more than 2 hours to try the game, and also get to try some other games for that month?

OP boldly assumes most of console players have a PC laying around chilling by their side, while having their consoles as their primary platform lol

Most players, across all platforms, have one device of their choice they make purchases on, for an entire generation. The multiplatform customer is a tiny demographic.

The only outlier here is the Switch, where it's split between these 3 (PS5, Xbox, PC), as a second device, and even there most of them are single platform owners.

Much smarter approach than buying/refunding on Steam. You can get PC Game Pass for $1 for 14 days. Besides, if you accidentally go over 2 hours you may not get your money back.
