Though the game has a ton of depth, it still feels very "handheld" in its production values.

We'll give it up to an impressive engine that retains a smooth framerate throughout the gameplay. The developers are smart to never zoom in to reveal the graphical limitations.

The commentary may be limited, but it matches the action without sounding too repetitive. And the arena chants keep things energetic.
8.5 Gameplay
Crank up the difficulty unless you want to have double digit scoring matches. In the higher levels it's a really good soccer challenge.
9.0 Lasting Appeal
Multiplayer with two people right out of the box, only needing one copy of the game. Four players can get into it as well with multiple carts. The career mode keeps solo outings interesting and fun.
